Browney Survived 50 Hours With African... Farmers

0:00 Hey, as requested, I'm going to be reviewing Brownie's latest video called I Survived 50 Hours with Africa's Warrior Tribe.
[video] 0:11 This is me next to a real African tribe, and I will be living with them for the next 50 hours. You're fat. I'm considered fat here. You're very fat.
0:22 He is generally naturally considered to be overweight, and that's because It doesn't matter whether you have too much muscle mass or fat when it comes to the definition of the word overweight.
[video] 0:37 And not just the way they see the world, but also the skills they need to survive.
[video] 0:42 Couldn't be more different than mine. I have to walk across the street to get food from the supermarket, survive hour-long calls, catch flights, record videos. I work out to stay fit.
0:52 It would be a pretty comfortable slave life if he didn't work out. And I'm basically online 24-7.
[video] 1:02 But then I got an email saying, hey, Stan, we know you like adventure and a challenge. Do you want to visit the Maasai tribe and see if you can handle their original lifestyle?
[video] 1:12 So I packed my stuff, hopped on a 12-hour flight.
1:14 He probably simply booked a tour with this so-called tribe. It is a tribe by definition. A tribe is really just a group of people, a family. But when people say tribe, they usually mean some people who live in nature, so to speak.
1:39 It's probably similar to the tourist that you can book with the Hadza tribe. It's all fake. I don't know about this one, we'll see, but the Hadza tribe is completely fake.
[video] 1:54 So for the next 50 hours, I will get rid of everything with the screen. Gonna put this away. Because the first thing I have to do is finding a good tree to make my own toothbrush. I can find a toothbrush with this plant here. This is Nathan. He will guide me these 50 hours and introduce me to the tribe. And Nathan is one of the only ones in Tanzania that speaks English.
2:10 Do you do this every morning? Every morning.
[video] 2:12 Every morning?
2:13 One of the only ones in Tanzania who speaks English? Are you joking? Tons of people in Tanzania speak English, obviously.
[video] 2:24 This side is like a toothpick, this is a toothbrush.
2:28 And just to be clear, if he speaks English, then he's obviously not natural, so to speak, in the sense that if you would actually meet truly natural people, then there is no way that you would be able to film some kind of video with them about anything, let alone about how you create a so-called toothbrush.
[video] 2:54 Oh, okay. Actually excited to brush my teeth. The Maasai likes to eat meat. It's our food. The meat. Meat is our food. Do you feel bad for killing?
3:04 It's the food of all humans. He talks as if some people can live fine without it.
[video] 3:14 No, I don't feel bad. But if you see cats are suffering, you feel bad, yeah. So this is your toothbrush.
3:21 It's such a religious slave question. Do you feel bad about killing the animals as if any predator feels bad when their prey dies? Only some modern guy from the Netherlands could ask such a question.
[video] 3:39 That's really hard. I know what you're thinking.
[video] 3:48 For us, we have a strong jaw because sometimes we can break bones when we eat meat. Yeah, you got strong jaw muscles. But brushing your teeth like this is actually really difficult. Hey, stop laughing at me.
4:00 If you actually eat mainly raw meat, there is no need for teeth brushing. If you eat junk food, cooked meat that gets stuck between your teeth, especially if there's too much space between the teeth, then sure, brushing, cleaning your teeth is good.
[video] 4:24 A bit better? It's going to be better. Not impressed. But once I got a good brush and cleaned my teeth. So where are we going now? I can go to the Boma for breakfast. For breakfast? Yeah. A Boma is what they call this self-made village. This is the fence. It's good for security. So when we make our fence by thorns, by thorns plant, it will be strong because we are living in the bush. What is the most dangerous animal here? Hyena and leopard. Leopard? Yeah. Every night? Every night is hyena. So the fence is for security. And it's the job of warriors. The warrior is someone who is protecting the community. Or maybe they are a lion, maybe attacking cow.
4:56 Yes, but these are not warriors anymore. These are civilized people. He speaks English. He probably partly or even fully lives in a city and only comes here to do tours. And that's all because the governments, the military push these people away from their natural lives.
[video] 5:24 They are going to fight with a lion. Fighting a lion is one of the bravest and most respected tasks a warrior can do for his community. But nowadays, they don't really do this anymore. But if the community...
5:33 Yes, because it's not allowed anymore.
[video] 5:37 Or animals are being attacked, the warriors have to be ready. You can see the warrior is supposed to be strong. Yes, let's see if I can be a warrior with my toothbrush. Inside this bow mount, no one can really understand a single word I'm saying. Good morning.
[video] 5:51 So here we are speaking Masai, my language. Oh, what languages do you speak? I speak Swahili, Masai, English and Spanish. Can everyone here speak so many languages?
5:59 No. Also Spanish. Where would you learn Spanish? Only if you don't actually live here.
[video] 6:06 Only me. Everyone speaks Masai. And literally the first thing I see in this boma is a warrior sharpening his machete. You said it's family here, right? Who is this? Uncle. Your uncle? Yeah. But now they want me to try it. Okay, how does it work? So while Nathan explains to me how to sharpen this weapon, his uncle is very interested in the camera. That's you. Because most people here rarely see their reflection, and a lot have actually never properly seen what they look like. That is very...
6:29 Yes, you rarely see your reflection. And even if you would, then it would be kind of blurry, vague. You wouldn't actually clearly see the way you look like. And even with mirrors, you cannot actually. Well, who knows? We just don't know. But that's what people say, and it makes sense. How could you possibly? You can never look at yourself the way somebody else would. That's impossible.
[video] 6:57 but apparently there is something even crazier. What is this? This is medicine, the herbs from the plants. Maasai, they do not go to hospital. They believe if you go to hospital, you will die.
7:07 So Maasai... All right. Nice.
[video] 7:12 We use herbs. Even if someone is not sick, that's why you can find Maasai have 145 years old. A person 145? Yeah, 145 and above years old.
7:23 All right, very interesting. Nothing new for me. I talk about this a lot. Just not that long ago, somebody in Indonesia died. He was 143 or something like that. This used to be a common age to live to. And he's still strong.
[video] 7:43 The oldest person ever recorded, I thought it was 130.
7:49 Yeah, that's what you believe. And you believe everything that they tell you in the media. Why do you think they tell you that? Oh, my grandpa lived to 92. And I always think, okay, that's a super short lifespan.
[video] 8:11 And tomorrow, we need to actually help and see how they cut ears and mark their animals. I am kind of scared for that, and I kind of feel bad, but I'm here to experience the real Maasai. And having enough goats is important so the women in the boma can milk them. And I need to help them by holding back the baby goat.
8:25 That's how it is nowadays. He's afraid of that, and instead he goes to some building and pushes and pulls metal. That's how men are nowadays. They never do anything, actually. It's all about you pretending To be tough, to be manly, it's all bullshit.
[video] 8:44 It's on their least painful body part, the ears. So I'm holding this cutie right here because he can't drink from the milk yet. If they will drink all milk, we can't get milk. And that milk is needed for breakfast, which we're having right now in a special house. Oh, it is dark in here. Yeah, so here they're preparing the breakfast. The woman who lives here gave birth to a baby three months ago. And apparently Maasai women are not allowed to leave their house or cut their hair for six months straight after giving birth. You speak English? yes i just speak a little bit how are you feeling in here for three months in the dark yes this woman is making breakfast for all of us and this will also be the only food we will eat until dinner taste test i can just taste that this has a lot of carbs and the carbs is really what gives the energy and i got to try a drink made out of water milk i don't know what it's made out of some kind of seeds tuber some mixture
9:34 They do eat a lot of so-called modern foods, slave foods, which is what people in Europe also nowadays eat, and they believe that it's healthy. I'm not sure what they think about it. maybe they at least realize that it's famine food seeing as they still consume a lot of meat I think that they still drink blood also sugar and herbs not the special herbs yet unfortunately wow this is so good camera guy taste test well that's so good yes but where would they get sugar from uh They get a lot of help from people who work for the government.
[video] 10:14 I think I'm gonna get blisters from this. At the moment they take over again, there is smoke right away. How is this possible? How does that make sense? They can do it in one turn, and why is it not creating any smoke for me right now? The longer it takes me, the more pressure I feel, because more and more people started watching. I don't understand. Yeah, right away, boom. Look at that. Generally, you don't understand. I am full of blisters. Yeah, it's fire. Fire. Okay. I don't know why I can't do it, but... Good man. No, not a good man. I can't do it, man.
10:49 He has trained his body to push and pull metal, but when it comes to something like this, then he obviously cannot do it.
[video] 10:57 And once we arrived at the animal place inside the boma, the dance starts.
[video] 11:03 You tell me if I have to do something. But it was now time for a dance battle.
11:11 I wonder why the women keep their hair so short. I understand that it's their so-called culture but why did they start doing it?
[video] 11:20 I was closely being observed.
[video] 11:29 So now you're going to take water, some water there. Drink? Yeah. Why I sounded a little bit confused is because I haven't seen anyone drink anything since I arrived. You guys don't seem thirsty at all. I'm so thirsty right now. We are not thirsty. It's normal. After all that work, I really needed this. What is it? Extra salt, so I stay more hydrated. Oh.
11:49 Oh my God, man. That's so funny. Salt obviously really dehydrates you. It's super counterproductive. And then these people wonder why they keep drinking and drinking because when you add salt to your water, it makes you more and more thirsty because you're dehydrating yourself.
[video] 12:11 This time, I would use this energy for my workouts to build muscle. But to my surprise, having muscle is something that Masai don't want. You're fat.
[video] 12:21 And you're very fat. Very fat. Why is that? Because I think the body is huge. Yeah. But muscles grow big. Yeah, muscles grow big, but you're fat also. I'm considered fat here. So this is fat. That is fat. Yeah. That's so funny. What does fat mean?
12:39 Man, that's so interesting that he doesn't even realize really what they are saying. Really, to their somewhat natural senses, His body simply looks too big. That's what I meant at the beginning of the video. He looks overweight because he is overweight, but obviously you sense it through your sense of sight. And you automatically see him as weaker, slower. And when it comes to survival and the fight, then you would know that you wouldn't have to be worried if you would actually go up against him.
[video] 13:19 Fat means someone who is huge. Like you, you're fat. I exercise a lot. You exercise a lot and you're eating a lot. And I eat a lot. Yeah. So I'm fat. You're fat. Maybe I can now prove to Nathan that I'm not super fat because we have to collect as much wood as possible for tonight's fire to keep wild animals away from the camp. Everything is dangerous here. Everything is dangerous here. So we collected wood. Yeah. I have to get them back home. Is this enough? No, we'll come back to find another. How many times? Three or four times. Well... Let's put in the work. Normally, I would have eaten more than 2000 calories by now, but I'm still living off the energy from today's breakfast.
13:56 If you would live like this you would naturally lose all of that mass anyway because it's useless. The mass that you gain and really just maintain from a gym will be lost once you stop going to the gym or once you live in Africa, in Tanzania. My point is simply that you artificially keep up this mass when you go to the gym, whether it's two or five times a week. And whenever you push and pull the metal, your body tries to adapt to it because it believes that you are in a survival situation. That's why you age quicker, create dark eye circles. Wrinkles and all of that. It just ages your body, but your body believes that it's in a survival situation. Your body doesn't understand that you were mentally brainwashed to do it.
[video] 14:51 It's heavy. Too heavy, but it would be good. Well, put that to the test. Okay, we're taking it.
[video] 15:16 I was finally being seen strong in the eyes of a Maasai warrior and this hyped me up so much that we collected wood for another hour. But now it's luckily time for dinner before making the big fire for the night. Welcome. Thank you. The drink is the same as breakfast. So good. But this time they mixed in plain flour. Yeah, tastes like flour. That is unique. I'm loving my zero-gram protein diet. But it makes sense. This is how you get energy. They're asking you, you have cow? If I have a cow? I don't have a cow. That matters.
15:49 How can he have a girlfriend then? Because they believe that he wouldn't be able to provide for her otherwise.
[video] 15:59 Interesting.
[video] 16:06 And after trying to sing it with them...
[video] 16:10 They want to hear music from our world, but because I'm not a great singer.
16:14 Most of them still have way better developed faces when you compare them to modern Europeans. Naturally, all of us should look like that when it comes to the development. It could be better, but still, it's way better than what I see all around me.
[video] 16:35 I used the phone for my cameraman and played some songs that he had downloaded on his phone.
16:39 You can just see it. because of the teeth alone. And when you compare them to him also.
[video] 16:47 Because there was literally zero connection here.
[video] 16:51 They're not impressed. She's asking if maybe you have mastectomy.
16:55 But eating that seed slime or whatever that was, even if it was made out of tubers, will obviously also harm them a lot. They are living... a way more modern life now when you compare it to the way they used to live when they were actual so-called warriors really fighting. Now they cannot do it anymore. They are afraid to do it. That's what I mean.
[video] 17:26 There are so many crickets. Please let me sleep.
17:34 Why do these so-called natural sounds bother him?
[video] 17:39 why would crickets bother you i definitely hear something approaching barking dog at night means no good that's what i was told at home everything would be optimized completely blacked out curtain so there's no outside light that's also abnormal you would have the moonlight outside noise
18:03 yes if you block out the noise of cars for example it's understandable but hearing nothing at all is also abnormal and regulating the temperature i woke up more than 30 times i am in so much pain i've been awake every single hour what am i hearing
[video] 18:32 Look at this. I don't think I've seen a donkey from this close ever. I slept here. This is what I was hearing the entire time. My shoulders hurt so much. It's insane. It's not easy to sleep inside here if you're not experienced. So for the first time, it's hard a little. Yeah. But it did, so you're amazing. Yeah? Yeah. And hearing this, that he's proud that I was able to sleep here, made me forget my tiredness and gave me such a confidence boost for the day that I told Nathan I want to build my own toothbrush. It's going to be a big toothbrush. You definitely get better at this if you do it every single day. Yeah. You're afraid to see it. Where do you think your meat comes from? They obviously don't do that when they create your meat, but what would you do if you would actually go to a slaughterhouse?
19:28 Yeah, these people are just removed from this reality, from nature, so to speak.
[video] 19:33 In seconds. And then he gives it to the kid. Why does he give it to the kid? He's about to go to throw to the fence. He just marked the goat so you can actually see which goat is yours? Yeah, which goat is yours. Can you be able to mark a sheep or a goat? You want to give me? No, don't give me a knife. I am not marking anyone. No. But this is not the only marking they do, because goats that are sick get this remedy.
[video] 20:10 Oh, you can hear it.
[video] 20:15 Your body is not craving calories? You imagine that. Your body is craving meat, fat, actual animals. Huh. The children just look...
20:43 better than modern children, just better developed.
[video] 20:48 And I was told that also these kids have never seen a camera in their life. That lens is getting so dirty. And that they've also never seen someone with my skin color. This kid is trying to touch and feel my skin because I'm white. Yeah, because I'm white. I feel like everyone here is slowly getting more and more used to me, which I think is a good sign. But then Nathan said we have to go now because it's time for our biggest task, which I'm excited for. And also a little afraid about the effects it will have on my body. Where are we walking to? Herbs. Herbs. And the herbs are going to give me the best day of my life. And because it's really far away, we first stop at a different tree that is supposed to give you energy. This is the kind of tree, it's called the Ficus, because the warriors are in the bush for a whole day, so sometimes they can get tired. If they sit close to this tree, they will get energy. What is the oldest messiah ever? 150 years old. 150? Yeah. And being around this tree and living the Maasai lifestyle is, according to Nathan and the Maasai, the reason that they can live up to 150 years old or older. Is that enough? To become more than 100 years old? Yeah.
21:42 I don't know about that, but this conversation made me realize... Tell that to Neil deGrasse Tyson who said that people lived to 35 around 200 years ago.
[video] 21:56 How much of a beautiful and different world we live. It's a beautiful tree. It's a completely different tree than all the other trees. I don't know if it was the powers from the tree, but resting for a moment here definitely helped. How clean is this water? You can drink this. You can drink this. You drink this water? Yeah, because most of the cows, they drink this. Ah, okay. Because the cow drinks this, it's good for you guys? Yeah. I don't think my body can handle this water, so I skip this one. Where's the herb?
[video] 22:22 We've been walking for almost three hours. Only thing I've had was breakfast, which was tea. I think we're close to the herbs, but we also have to go back. That's a lot of walking. You're doing good. Yeah. But then we finally found a special herb.
22:35 The more masks you have, the harder it is. to those simple natural things such as walking. Walking should be no problem. If you're at your natural body weight, then you can walk a lot. And sometimes you may need to in nature.
22:56 He is obviously, as I said, overweight, over his natural weight, and that's why he's struggling. That's why you also need more food. Everything becomes harder. Blood veins.
[video] 23:09 Cleaning the blood veins. Everywhere. Is it the inside?
23:11 Outside.
[video] 23:11 Oh, you need the outside? Those are the strains we saw. You need the outside. Thank you. Smells pretty good. You could say that your blood flow increases because of the poisons in the herbs. That's true. It's kind of like coffee that doesn't make it healthy.
23:47 It's impossible that it tastes good.
[video] 23:57 It's natural. How long before I start feeling?
24:00 Natural? This guy. After I tell you how, you can... Literally goes against your nature. That's why I'm laughing. You can feel it.
[video] 24:10 Oh, three hours. In the night, you will not get sleepy easily. You'll keep missing someone. I'll keep missing my girlfriend. Yeah. I drank the full cup. The Maasai has good taste. I really wanted to make the fire for tonight. Not just my hands. It's my knees. I wanted it so, so bad.
[video] 24:35 I don't understand it. But I have to give up, man. I'm sorry. One day is. One day. One day. But I noticed a part of the Maasai lifestyle is that they don't stress themselves too much. Living life as it happens, they might not know things that are normal for us. You're fat. But you can see that they don't need.
24:51 He shows that again, as if they are the abnormal ones. They don't understand that because I go to a gym and lift man-made metal up and down, I'm not actually fat or overweight. This guy, and of course they don't stress themselves because no animal does. There's just no animal on earth that stresses himself, herself, just like that for no reason. Oh, what should I do today? I will just go and stress myself. These things to be happy. Put it in the hand like this. Put it in the hand? Yeah.
[video] 25:28 Okay, here we go. So we finished dinner and kept singing for a bit. And after another amazing night with not a lot of sleep,
25:45 this tribe is really just made up of farmers, maybe more so old school farmers, but this is a farming life, still way better when you compare it to the way people live today, but these are not warriors, that's obvious. But if you live like this, minus the toxic herb drink and the seed slime or tuber slime, whatever that was, Sure, then you can live to 150 and beyond.
[video] 26:19 Can you tell her she's been amazing? She took care of us so well. For when the kid grows up, maybe fits in the shirt at some point. And a massive thank you to Nathan, who is doing tours like this to help his community and helps the Maasai culture stay alive. This video is not sponsored in any way. I got the email and it looked like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. After making sure this is not destructive for the Maasai and actually helps them, I was so excited to experience this. And we did it. And I am extremely happy to go home. Back to my girlfriend.
[video] 26:47 Of course, because of the tea. I can't wait to see her.
26:52 I don't understand why we didn't see them drinking blood or at least eating meat. Maybe they didn't want to share the real food with Brownie. Or maybe he didn't want to share it with his slave audience. He made it seem as if they eat that slime made out of seeds, tubers or a mixture of both. As I said before, who knows? but it's obviously not what they actually eat. It's not even food. You could say that it's a sort of supplement. Whatever the case, you can see that they do not live like their warrior ancestors anymore. These are farmers. You could say that they are better farmers if you compare them to modern European farmers, for example, who eat bread and pancakes all day long.
27:47 But these are not people who are actually doing what they naturally want to do.
27:58 The more of that slime you eat, the unhealthier you will be. Your lifespan will be shorter also. They talked about living to 150 and beyond. This may sound strange to so-called modern people, slaves, because when your grandpa died at 80, then you told your parents how he lived a long and fulfilled life, realizing that he didn't even live to half of his potential natural lifespan may be hard for you, seeing as you believe that you're living such a good life. The bottom line is that these people are not even trying to dominate anymore. And that's because deep down, they know that they have been domesticated. Thanks for watching.
