0:00 hi guys i'm gonna be reviewing a video by james smith it's called is this becoming a mental illness it's a video about brian johnson i know this is really gonna rub some people the wrong way but we really need to speak about this who cares speak your mind brian johnson the guy that wants to live Hey, circle brother.
[video] 0:20 Forever. I'm going to get so much shit for this, but let's just get into this. We're at a party. Which one's worse? Wine or Diet Coke? Let's take a look. Caramel color, aspartame, phosphoric acid. He's just kind of reading these things out without actually giving any context. For instance, aspartame. I've done some videos on this before. Broken down into what? Phenylalanine, aspartic acid, and methanol. And that sounds really bad and dangerous, but let me find it.
[video] 0:41 article here I've been citing since like 2017. First of all it's by Menno Henselman who's a very well-regarded based expert and every claim in here that he says is backed up by studies. So often you'll know if someone is objectively making a claim about something because there'll be some kind of evidence to back it up. Now this graphic here, did I get right? Methanol, aspartic acid, phenylalanine.
1:00 It should be clearly understood that the chemical structures are
1:07 not real these are what people imagine they would look like that's why you will always see animations or sometimes even 3d animations if they want to make really fancy animations but you're never going to see anything real obviously because uh it cannot be observed uh that should be clearly understood if you watch these kind of videos because i'm sure that this guy also doesn't understand it i don't know who james smith is uh this is the first video that i've ever seen of his uh i've never seen the channel before but clearly he also doesn't understand it
[video] 1:49 One can of diet soda, 125 milligrams. Methanol, oh my God. Again, a glass of tomato juice contains six times as much. Phenylalanine, again, 100 grams of beef contains 16 to 32 times as much. And aspartic acid, one egg.
2:01 Could also not be measured. But okay, that's a whole different topic. It's not really the point of the video still. Should be understood that you cannot measure these acids, none of this in food itself. There's chemical procedures such as chromatography, which I have talked about a lot, which the food can go through. But then you end up with the byproduct of that procedure or also byproducts with a lot of possible artifacts from the procedure. But you can never actually observe it in the food itself. You cannot take a piece of meat and observe what's inside of there, whatever it may be.
[video] 2:48 contains 34 times as much so even when we look at these kind of bad names he's talking about what does that mean again if we come down to here the study was in rats and i famously did that coke zero video where i was like you should be worried if you're a rat and if we look here at the safety matrix unless you're consuming over 1100 to 4000 cans of soda a day you're going to be fine and then there are some issues people that do have sweetened beverages you know some people for instance will have a protein bar and they'll get a bit of a gut reaction and they'll be like oh it's the sucralose Stevia is of course also extracted from leaves It's not better, that's for sure
[video] 3:30 and again actually may disrupt we're not saying does disrupt we've gone into the evidence to studies this quite a lot recently and there's a paucity of evidence so again may for some people but most people know fearmongering
3:49 increase the risk of type 2 that he is referring to epidemiology most likely for sure not the scientific studies right i doubt it you can do actual scientific studies on rats that's for sure heart disease and but what are you citing here and again he's probably trying to cite here associations diet soda and non-chloric artificial sweetener Yeah, right. Brian Johnson for sure only refers to some associations, correlations. You don't really get anything else out of him. The only good thing he did was measure the toxic heavy metals in the chocolate bars. But then again, you shouldn't be consuming that anyway.
[video] 4:36 That's exactly what I mean. You can make an association between anything you want. You can make an association between seed oils and washing your windows and somehow
[video] 5:05 prove that cedars are healthy because you wash your windows or whatever you can make up anything you want on warmer days people are more inclined to eat ice creams on warmer days people are more likely to swim that does not mean that drownings are caused by ice cream that is an association And here we've actually seen that water is not superior to non-nutritive sweetened beverages for weight loss during a comprehensive behavioral weight loss program. I'm pretty sure there's some other studies as well that show that having sweetened beverages can have a benefit to weight loss and calorie controlled diets. So we can't just objectively look at something and go, oh, it's got E numbers in. Did you know E numbers are also a safety weighting? It really annoys me when people go, don't have that, it's got E numbers in. Guess what? Vitamin C's E number is E300. Plebs. So this fear mongering...
5:47 Yeah, but this vitamin C is of course not actually a real vitamin. You do understand that, right? No, you don't, of course. Yeah, that's the problem. That's the problem today. Nothing is based on science. Everything is based on beliefs and usually religious beliefs. And by that I mean beliefs which you just blindly believe. You don't question it. You don't even understand it. And it seems like it's a pretty similar case with him as it is with Brian. Maybe not as bad.
[video] 6:25 About Coke Zero, which actually, for a lot of people, if you want them to live longer, mate, swapping them from calorie-containing beverages to sugar-free sweetened beverages would only positively impact their energy balance, therefore allowing them to lose weight. And we know objectively, brother, that reducing someone's level of adiposity, and which fact they have, helps them in longevity. So you are being a bit...
6:43 we know objectively everybody who says we know this objectively we know it for a fact those people are usually lying to you or if they are not lying they actually believe that they understand something and they are in reality ignorant because we are talking about completely subjective topics here Just a bunch of beliefs thrown out there. It's as subjective as anything can get. Has nothing to do with facts, knowledge or anything.
[video] 7:19 Of a fucking knobhead. Bro, this is super unprofessional of me to say this, right? But if we were to do like a double-blind control study and I was to identify people to their health metrics, and I know that's some prejudice, I would not say, oh my god, this guy looks like he's gonna live hundreds of years, easily to 500. You look like you're about to have a fucking anxious breakdown. Anyway, let's see what you gotta say about the wine.
7:37 Well, it is a good point that he does not look healthy, which is, I guess, what he means, yes. Brian Johnson doesn't look like somebody who's gonna have a long lifespan based purely on the state of his body, his health.
[video] 7:54 yeah that's what we should trust anyway in the first place our senses not what anybody else says especially what he himself says halo effect for high culture wine has between 12 and 14 alcohol it is a class one carcinogen one drink a day can increase the risk for several cancers sounds super dehydrated as well and the choice is diet coke or alcohol i'm going to choose dehydration okay i would agree that i disagree with people when they say there's benefits to alcohol from a health perspective there isn't it is a toxin it isn't good for you however again we're lacking nuance and debate we can say to people hey wine's not good for you and if you are going to have wine have it in moderation because having a glass of wine once a month having a glass of wine once a day is obviously different outcomes in the dose right but from a social perspective having a glass of wine with your partner might be beneficial to your marriage or your relationship having a glass
8:36 What? What are you talking about? Having a glass of toxins will be beneficial for your marriage? To stay together with an alcoholic or what? Instead of telling them to be healthy? To be together with somebody who's intoxicated and then you're both intoxicated? Maybe you start fighting? Is this the stupidest argument ever? What's wrong with you, man? And very interesting also at the beginning of this video, I was expecting a different kind of video, by the way. He said that he doesn't want to offend people, at least he implied that.
9:16 no man what's up with you you have all of these uh pumped up muscles but you're gonna be afraid of what people think about you kind of typical really with these people yeah just speak your mind say what you want to say who cares possible wine on a first date might be good for reducing inhibitions and allowing you to find a mate because again if we look No, this is all about appealing to slaves, essentially, to the masses. It's all about fitting in, wanting to be accepted.
[video] 9:55 at that dates if we just look at health markers yeah sure we say alcohol is a bad thing but if it helps two people bond think of the economic benefits of people falling in love and living together under one household think of the benefits yes and alcohol is gonna help you great man yeah your video seems to be way better you give way better advice than brian to society of those two people living together and having children we could argue that having children is bad for you because of the negation it has to your sleep impact no nuance what what are you talking about yeah when you have sick malnourished children and when their nerves are fried
10:34 And their gut hurts. They're not going to sleep. But that doesn't happen with healthy children. Not a problem. I know from experience.
[video] 10:44 And the fact you would say I would pick dehydration is, again, just fear-mongering. You obviously just asked for a glass of water. And you're very, very Machiavellian with what you say about Code Zero. I think you've got a mental illness, Brian Johnson. And it's very ironic you've got the same name as Leverking because he was also a shill. Now, just before your loons come for me and want to attack me and say whatever it is, for any of you that don't know, Brian Johnson sold a business, made a lot of money, has devoted his life now to longevity. If we look at some of his most popular videos, tried to make my face younger. How about McDonald's? He's like a bit of a health bro.
11:13 Yeah, it's all about making yourself look younger instead of actually biologically being younger. That's what his channel is all about. You have the hair dyeing, shaving the beard, if he can really grow a proper beard. Actually, he can, I think, I've seen from old photos. Using makeup. His editing team really makes him look strange. I've made a video about this, a short. His videos are super edited. to make him look better healthier maybe younger even it's very fake it's a very fake channel what he should do is show us the way he really looks like what this blueprint protocol is doing to him and he doesn't he's lying to everybody
[video] 12:06 now here's my unpopular take after making hundreds of millions of dollars I can't help but feel there are a lot of people that make a lot of money and they realize it's not actually money they wanted it's kind of recognition it's status it's the millions of views because let me tell you this if I sell a business for 800 million dollars I'm not using social media ever again I'm just gonna go relax spend time with my family I think this guy's drunk on the recognition of
12:24 It's interesting he says that he's gonna go and relax with his family then. He didn't say, I'm gonna go work out or whatever. Clearly, as we can see, he works out. It's just interesting how they never even think of that, seeing as that's not what you want to do. You do all of this to get money. Even the MMA fighters, boxers, they all do it for the money.
[video] 12:49 Oh my God, you're amazing. Oh, what you do for us. You're like a modern day Jesus. But I can't help but think there's a person here with a bit of a mental disorder, obsessed with one of the most irrational things possible to live forever. I've been spending millions of dollars trying to create the perfect diet. What I did is I asked all my organs of the body. Hey, heart, liver and kidney, what do you need to be your best self? We looked at scientific evidence and this is the result. A diet exactly mapped to produce 50.
13:12 Yeah, but that's nonsense because he's vegan, essentially, except for the blood transfusion and maybe some collagen powder or whatever.
13:24 That means that it's biased, this meal plan. It's not what your organs need, obviously. At best, you could say it's what your organs need on a vegan diet, but even that makes no sense.
[video] 13:37 Who is going to be able to do this? I just don't get it. You can have caffeine. Alcohol, I now have. It's dramatic music. You think it's a fucking trailer for a film. That have the molecules you want. I've been spending millions.
13:49 The molecules that you want, uh... Yeah, yeah, that's what he believes.
14:15 Actually, quality of life goes hand in hand with how long your life will be. Seeing as the better the quality of your life, the healthier you will be. And that's why you will live longer. And we can see with Brian that his quality of life is very low. He's very cold. He looks super exhausted, has dark eye circles, very, very unhealthy. and that proves that his lifespan will also be very very short that's it the healthier you are the longer you will live and to be fair this guy i looked up his age before i made this video he's the same age as me a few months difference He does look noticeably older than me. Not crazy older. His skin obviously looks older. He looks like he's in his early 40s. The beard is also graying.
15:14 That could partly maybe also be inherited, although I think that it's more so the stress. It's the working out, the stress that really ages you. I've seen worse cases, but it's not a good case for sure. to watch every single person he knows die go to all their funerals maybe he's got a fixation with funerals not living forever i eat 70 pounds of vegetables a month oh wow the fact you measure that mental illness well um he's not exactly wrong if you measure the food that you eat and you're so obsessed with food bodybuilders are the same yes i wouldn't call it a mental illness but uh
16:01 You're for sure also not exactly mentally right.
[video] 16:05 This gets bigger. Yeah. When I wake up in the morning, I have a drink I call the green giant. Chlorella powder, spermidines, creatine, collagen peptides, cocoa flavanols, cinnamon. We have searched all over the world for the best possible cocoa. I have been spending millions of dollars for the past three years working to slow my speed of aging. Today, surely the stress component of worrying about all of these things can't be good for you. Now, this isn't backed by science. I would consider myself evidence-based, but people that worry about stuff, I swear, must have a higher chance of dying. For instance, there's probably going to be someone
16:35 Yes, of course, worrying means stress. It's always all stress. It all goes back to stress. Even a bad diet is partly gonna stress you. Not sleeping enough, exercising, it all stresses you. Some of the activities more than others. yeah it's very easy to explain there's no secrets to longevity you simply avoid stress and you're gonna live long it's super simple in the mediterranean somewhere who's like 110 years old and i guarantee he smokes like a chimney and i bet his family have said to him hey uncle tommy you got Yeah, there's some people who live long, they of course eat super good food and just chill, who also smoke. Not super often and not the typical cigarettes or cigars that we have in the stores today.
17:29 But that will simply decrease your lifespan by who knows what, 10, 20, 30 years. You're gonna live to 110 instead of 150 and beyond.
17:44 It's not, of course, proof of anything. They just live chill lives and they just lay back and smoke. As long as it's not super toxic smoke that you're inhaling, it's not gonna actually really significantly reduce your lifespan. But it will anyway.
[video] 18:04 to stop smoking i don't know why he's from new york now they probably said to their uncle like look you gotta stop smoking he's like this isn't bad for me i'm fine i've been doing this for 100 years he probably laughs and goes all my doctors are dead all the people that told me to smoke aren't here anymore because he genuinely believes that smoking is not bad for him whereas the people that smoke are just gonna kill
18:20 Well, it doesn't work like that, but you're right that you shouldn't be worrying about whatever it may be. Worrying in general, except in a survival situation, in the moment, is never gonna help anybody. You're just gonna be stressed, you will create wrinkles and gray hairs worrying all the time.
[video] 18:40 No, he's right. Yeah, that's bad. That's gonna age you.
18:55 You need to live naturally, chill. He avoids the sun, is afraid of the sun. Instead, embrace the sun. He's afraid of meat, what he's actually naturally supposed to eat. Instead, he has all these meals. Then he needs to get checked. He needs to exercise one hour a day. Totally nuts.
[video] 19:16 That's the best point he made so far. There is no right olive oil. Most of the time the seeds are also processed when they create the olive oil, meaning that you're eating seed oils, partly.
[video] 19:45 I have said publicly that I'm trying to become 18 years old. That's a bit weird. That's a bit weird, isn't it? You're an old man.
19:52 Isn't it? Yeah, it's a bit weird, isn't it?
[video] 19:54 40 50 years old and you're how old are you how old is brian johnson he's 48 i think longevity guy 47. you look it bro you actually look a bit malnourished if i'm honest my 16 and 18 year old boys are doing a lot of this i can't help but think this person brian johnson doesn't want to live forever he just wants to be famous just want people to love you and that's okay that's okay documentary
20:16 Yep, he may be right. At its core, I think that Brian really wants attention more than anything else. He doesn't want to spread some longevity protocol to make everybody healthy. No, he wanted to be a sort of pioneer, which he isn't even. And he's wrong anyway, so it's never going to work out. in the longevity scene with his special protocol vegan diet one hour exercise no sunlight blah blah blah and he wanted people to look up to him and they do a lot of people do a lot of people fell for it it he still doesn't seem happy to me
[video] 21:04 free protocols, starter kits, biomarker testing, meals and snacks, supplements. Okay, now it's starting to make sense a little bit. I was trying to think why would a multi-millionaire be so keen to talk about this kind of stuff? Longevity mix, $66, essential.
21:18 Yeah, at first he wasn't selling anything as far as I remember, but later on a lot more products came out. His own chocolate powder and what you can see there, pretty pricey stuff. Oh, he has for sure made many millions already. Not that he needs it, but then again, he spends a lot of money on all of this. I guess that for him, it's just a way to make up for it. Whatever he's spending on it anyway, you give it back to him.
[video] 21:53 Capsules, $85. Daily stack travel pack, only $379. You're a supplement, bro. Okay, makes sense. All products, let's have a look at this. Oss, extra virgin olive oil for only $61. Oh, fantastic. Don't die.
[video] 22:13 This is a business at the end of the day, and that is the front man to this business. And I can't help but feel that we have fear-mongering.
22:19 Well, he always was a businessman, of course. It's to be expected. Even if it wasn't the intention at the beginning, it was to be expected that it's gonna turn into a business.
[video] 22:30 The other Brian Johnson, right, claimed he was natural until the point he got busted.
22:34 His whole bra- Yeah, come on, that never made any sense. I think that I was the first one to call him out on that. At least the first one to make a video about it. People were actually defending him in the comments back then.
[video] 22:46 And was built around being natural this guy's brand is based around living forever and you won't know it's up until he dies So considering he's 47, let's say he's got 30 years to the average person dies He can say whatever he wants and there's no way no way that he could go on For 30 years like this never gonna happen.
23:05 I give him Three four years maybe five but
23:16 He would look like death after five years. Nobody would take him seriously anymore.
[video] 23:21 You can refute him or rebuke him because he's still alive. Yeah, I'm on track to live to about 250. How are you going to prove that wrong? He's fucking 47.
[video] 23:33 You won, bro. Sold your business for $800 million. You won. Why are you here? Go live your life. Go enjoy it. Invest your money. Live out your day. Spend time with your family. Stop...
23:42 Yeah, money doesn't exist. It's nothing that we can sense. It's only in our imagination. It's not real, which is why it doesn't fulfill you. He could be a billionaire, it wouldn't matter.
[video] 23:54 Brian Johnson was really into all of this new technology as we can see he still is but at the time he
24:19 was really into it, which is how he built the business. He only had one child or maybe there's more children, but he only ever talks about his son, which is why he didn't really have the people around him that you would have in nature, actually loving people or family. And I think that the son grew up with the mother anyway or something. Now he's there, I guess. meaning that he didn't grow up the way he should naturally. And then of course you want attention. Why do you want attention from people? Because you don't have it in your real actual life. Of course, this is all kind of fake online, but whatever the case, you want to pull people towards you, whether it's online or in real life. He also does these meetings in real life. Uh, these, uh,
25:11 some sort of conferences he speaks in front of a lot of people he's trying to influence a lot of people and he's trying to draw people towards him if you have a lot of children a big family you don't need this attention from other people because you have what you need That's why I think that Brian Johnson is really lacking love and attention He wouldn't even obsess over dying He wouldn't care about when he's gonna die or how long he's gonna live You just live your life and you're happy nobody in nature thinks about how long you're gonna live. You're living day to day in the moment, not even day to day, just really in the moment, and you're just enjoying life to its fullest.
26:02 His life is all about worrying all the time, avoiding something, listening to association studies, ignoring real science, which is based on our senses, knowing, knowledge, facts. He doesn't talk about any of that. His life is actually religious. That's the best way to put it. A lot of blind beliefs based on nothing. And that's what actually defines his life. And of course, when your life is like that, you should not expect a good outcome. Thanks for watching.
