0:00 Hi guys, as suggested, I'm going to be reviewing a video called 10 Things That Feel Wrong But Are Actually Healthy by Dr. ER. I can already tell from the title alone that this video will be nonsense because everything that feels wrong is unhealthy, seeing as your intuition tells you what is bad for you.

[video] 0:26 Cold showers, loud music, and fidgeting might sound like bad, annoying habits, but what if I told you science says they're secretly good for you?

0:34 Science says, and what is science? Science is knowledge. How do you know anything? by sensing it. Everything else is a belief.

[video] 0:46 Yep, today we're breaking down 10 surprisingly healthy things you might already be doing that are weirdly good for you. Eating dark chocolate, specifically dark chocolate, already makes zero sense.

1:00 Dark chocolate is made out of poisonous seeds, which are inedible. And he says that it goes against your intuition to eat dark chocolate because it tastes bad, bitter, you taste the toxicity.

[video] 1:19 70% cacao or higher might actually be doing your body a favor. It's rich in flavonoids, powerful antioxidants that... Did you see the flavonoids?

1:29 That animation? Those are real. Just believe in them.

[video] 1:35 help lower inflammation, improve blood flow, and support heart health. In fact, a study in the British Medical Journal linked moderate dark chocolate consumption.

1:45 Linked. That's the key word. What does that have to do with science? You can link anything to anything pretty much. If you invest enough money into the study, then you can come to any kind of conclusions that you want.

[video] 2:08 To a lower risk of stroke and cardiovascular disease. But here's the catch. Not all chocolate is created equal. And a lot of it's packed with added sugar, artificial fats, and other junk that basically cancels out the benefits. So yeah.

2:23 At least he's implying that seed oils are bad for you.

[video] 2:27 Enjoy it, but in moderation. A square or two of the real stuff.

2:31 That again doesn't make any sense. If you need to enjoy something in moderation, then it's not good for you.

[video] 2:40 Stuff? Great. The whole bar in the name of silence? No, let's not get carried away. Taking cold showers. Cold exposure actually comes with some pretty compelling health benefits. It can boost circulation by causing your blood vessels to constrict.

2:53 How is that a benefit for your health? Your body will simply be more stressed, alert, and that's why the circulation increases.

[video] 3:06 Then rapidly dilate, which helps move oxygenated blood through your system more efficiently. It can also reduce muscle soreness post-workout and help you recover faster. There's also some evidence that cold exposure may support your immune response. In fact, a study published in the Public Library of Science found that people who ended their showers with cold water were 29% less likely...

3:24 You really need to understand that these are not scientific studies. They do not follow the scientific guidelines. There are some real studies which have been done. And of course, we can only read about them. We don't know that firsthand. But if you trust them, then of course, you can sort of rely on some studies out there. but there's very few real studies. Most of the studies today are some correlation studies where you try to link something to something else.

[video] 4:07 Like to call in sick over a three month period. But quick heads up, if you have a heart condition or any cardiovascular issues, talk to your doctor first. The sudden cold can constrict blood vessels and spike blood pressure, which could be risky for some people. Have you ever done a cold shower?

4:20 Why do we need to read studies when our intuition tells us that it's bad for us?

4:30 Unbelievable.

[video] 4:31 Or cryotherapy. What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments. Fidgeting. Turns out fidgeting can have some surprisingly positive effects on your health, especially if you spend long hours sitting. You see, when you sit for extended periods, our circulation slows down, our metabolism drops, and our muscles basically go on strike. But low-level movements can actually help keep blood flowing

4:50 and even slightly boost your calorie burn throughout the day It's good to relax and rest You don't need to be always exerting your energy

[video] 5:00 In fact, a study published in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine found that women who regularly fidgeted while sitting had a significantly lower risk of all-cause mortality than those who sat completely still. So if you're the person who's constantly bouncing your leg or twirling your pen during meetings, don't feel bad. You might just be giving your circulatory system a micro workout. Are you a fidget?

5:20 You may have some problems with your nerves. let me know in the comments drinking coffee coffee isn't the villain it's sometimes made out to be again it's made out of toxic seeds same as chocolate there's nothing more that you need to say about it it goes against your intuition to drink coffee it's bitter you taste the toxins And when you do, then you should spit out coffee, that's it.

[video] 5:53 Studies show that moderate coffee consumption, keyword moderation, we're talking about one to three cups a day.

6:00 Again, same thing, moderation, don't do it. Because if your body already tells you that it's bad for you, and if you do it for a few minutes or you drink four or five cups at once, then you know that it's bad for you. But when we are talking about healthy substances, then we can consume them as much as we want to until we are satiated, obviously. When your intuition tells you to stop eating or drinking, but when it comes to coffee, then When you taste it, right away your body tells you, spit it out. And that's why you add sugar and cream, milk to it. That's why he says that you should enjoy it in moderation.

[video] 6:47 Not six venti cold brews.

6:50 This has been late. Why? Why not? Could we not drink six glasses of blood, raw milk?

[video] 6:59 to a lower risk of type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, and even depression.

7:05 That's a pretty impressive resume for a simple... That is a crazy dangerous advice.

[video] 7:11 ...morning ritual. And yes, caffeine helps with more than just waking up. It can also improve cognitive performance, memory, and reaction time. That said, I'm not talking about the whipped cream top...

7:23 Yes, if you're alert, if there's toxins flowing through your body, then of course you will be more alert.

[video] 7:32 Oh, let's go back. The way they are sitting there.

7:54 Oh yes, which chemicals should we combine to create something toxic? This is probably AI anyway.

[video] 8:02 Doctor and nutritionist formulated energy and focus supplement with clean caffeine, lion's mane, cognizant and B vitamins.

8:11 What is clean caffeine and B vitamins, really? How are they made? Oh, in a laboratory, really? Could you please explain us the procedure? Nah, I don't really want to. Then my clients will understand that I'm selling them laboratory-made toxins, which have an LD50 value. Only toxic substances have an LD50 value, by the way.

[video] 8:40 It's designed to give you the mental clarity and sustained energy you need without the jitters or...

8:46 Mental clarity and energy. But in reality, what he's talking about is alertness from toxicity. And that's also what he means by energy. He's simply talking about toxicity.

[video] 9:06 Do you drink coffee or are you sensitive to caffeine? Let me know in the comments. Listening to loud music. First off, music has a powerful impact on your stress levels. Listening to songs you enjoy, especially ones with a strong beat, can help reduce cortisol, your body's primary stress hormone. At the same time, it triggers the release of dopamine, the brain's feel good chemical, which can boost your mood and motivation. But it's not just about mental health. Music can actually enhance physical performance too. Studies have shown that listening to fast tempo music during workouts, for instance, increases endurance.

9:35 Exactly. This is what I wanted to say. It can alter your state temporarily. And that's why if you listen to metal at the gym, you will be able to push and pull more metal.

9:52 Of course, usually we only need to motivate ourselves to do something which we don't even want to do with music. Maybe sometimes you simply also want to calm down while you're at an airport and then you put on noise cancelling headphones to do that. But in reality, you just want to be in nature, surrounded by the sounds of birds.

10:25 What I'm trying to say is that it's a way to escape from slavery, usually. It's escapism, but of course, it's not going to actually work.

[video] 10:44 reduces the perception of effort, and can even improve coordination. That said, here's your quick doctor disclaimer. Anything over 85 decibels can damage your hearing over time, and most headphones can hit 100 decibels or more. So keep the volume in check. What's your go-to song to crank up? Let me know yours in the comments section below. Laughing at cringe memes. As silly as it sounds, getting the giggles can trigger some genuinely powerful physiological effects.

11:08 When you laugh, your body experiences But how does that feel wrong? I guess that he had to fill the top 10 with something, even though this point doesn't make any sense.

[video] 11:21 a drop in cortisol, your main stress hormone, and a boost in endorphins, the same feel-good chemicals released during exercise or after eating chocolate. One study published in Alternative Therapies in

11:32 That's very different. And for one thing, you cannot prove what kind of endorphins are even released. That's a whole different story. But you can for sure not compare exercising, exerting yourself to laughing at some kind of memes. When you do that, you are... sitting down most likely or laying on a couch you are relaxed you are not stressed whereas after a workout you will feel super stressed okay of course once you are done you will calm down but generally comparing that to exercising is ridiculous

[video] 12:13 in health and medicine found that just 15 minutes of laughter a day improved arterial flexibility, which is key to heart health. Do you have any good dad jokes? I want to hear them down below. Sleeping in sometimes. While chronic oversleeping can be linked to health issues, the occasional weekend sleep in, surprisingly good for you. Your body uses sleep not just to rest.

12:31 What? Surprisingly good for you? What? It's literally your intuition telling you to rest. And because people don't wake up so early, Saturdays and Sundays, they will be able to sleep longer and it will feel good.

[video] 12:56 Best but to repair, regulate hormones and consolidate memory and keep your immune system in fighting shape. In fact, a study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism found that people who slept in on the weekend after a short weekday sleep showed improved insulin sensitivity and lower markers of inflammation. Two major factors in metabolic health. but if you're still feeling exhausted even after a solid night or two of extra sleep, it might not be the quantity of hours, it could be about quality. That's where Do Not Disturb comes in. Do Not Disturb is our melatonin-free sleep formula designed to help you get deeper, longer-lasting rest without the groggy feeling the next morning. It's formulated with magnesium...

13:30 This is such a horrible channel. I've never seen this guy before. Him pushing these supplements, trying to get you to comment on his videos...

[video] 13:44 The natural kind? What does he mean? Isn't chewing gum made out of rubber usually? Essentially... You're essentially chewing on a...

14:12 a rubber-like substance with sugar and whatnot, some kind of additives, sweeteners.

[video] 14:20 It's alertness and even support short-term memory. It's thought to stimulate blood flow to the brain and keep you more mentally engaged, but here's the part that's not so sweet. Most commercial gums aren't exactly clean, meaning some of them are made with synthetic materials like polyvinyl acetate or polyethylene, the same stuff used to make plastic bags and industrial glue. That point again didn't make any sense because you would naturally be chewing on

[video] 15:00 something uh some parts of animals now and then message retained 29 more information than those who sat still and stared into space the idea is that low level physical engagement helps keep your brain just active enough to prevent it from zoning out completely again how does it feel wrong to do that So if you've ever been told to stop doodling and pay attention, the science now says the opposite. Keep doodling, you'll literally pay better attention. Swearing, we've all been there.

15:34 You stub your toe on the coffee table and instinct- Doodling is just you being bored usually. If you do it, in classes for example you simply don't want to be there you're imagining being somewhere else doing something else and that's why you do it it's again escapism essentially effectively yell something that youtube would out but turns out that actually might be good for you a 2009 study again how does it feel wrong to do it because some people Now that they say that it's wrong to do that, in reality, you are simply expressing yourself, meaning that it actually feels right to do it. Don't tell me that it feels bad to do it, come on.

[video] 16:28 A nerve report found that participants who swore during a cold presser test, that's when you dunk your hand into freezing water, those participants were able to tolerate the pain significantly longer than those who kept their vocab G-rated.

[video] 16:42 The act of swearing triggers your body's bite or flight response, flooding your system.

16:45 It's not even about swearing at all. We are talking about a language. It's about freely expressing yourself. That's what feels good.

[video] 16:56 with adrenaline and endorphins. But before you turn into a walking Tarantino script, keep in mind, the effect seems to work best when swearing is used sparingly. The more often you curse in everyday life, the less impact those words have when it really counts. Okay, 10 things that are really good for you. Are you surprised by any of these unsuspecting habits?

17:13 I wasn't surprised by anything. As I said, everything that goes against your intuition, which is your nature, is bad for you. There's no exceptions and that's how it always will be because Nature doesn't change. Some of the examples that he gave don't even go against your intuition, which is why it's not bad for you. Some of it may be neutral. When you're stuck in a classroom and you don't know what to do, then you will not feel good anyway. But If you at least somewhat try to express yourself, you maybe say, fuck you to the teacher, then it will feel better. There's no way that cursing, expressing yourself feels bad. And that's why it will never feel wrong or unhealthy to do that.

18:11 But eating poisonous seed products, going into cold water, will always feel bad, and that's because it's unhealthy. Thanks for watching.
