0:00 Hi, I'm going to be reviewing a video called Dr. Buzz ranks supplements. Don't waste your money.
[video] 0:08 Most supplement lists are backwards. They start with what's popular, not with what's effective. My
0:14 Pretty much everything is backwards nowadays.
[video] 0:17 I can gather a list of popular supplements and I'm ranking them on what actually moves the needle in terms of longevity and metabolic health. So we have five categories. The first one is no brainer. Everybody should take this. The second is pretty good. The third one is neutral, meaning it won't hurt you. Probably doesn't do much to help you, but it won't hurt you. The fourth one is overhyped. And the fifth one is I would not do that. The first one is collagen. I'd actually give this one a four. Say it's overhyped.
0:39 Collagen powders are different than others simply because they actually use real animal parts to create the powders. I would never recommend it simply because very strong acids are used when you create the powder and that's why it tastes horrible. That's why they add the flavorings to the powders.
[video] 1:03 Why? Well, for years I had patients taking this, telling me their fingernails were getting better, their hair was growing better, and it was all subjective. And then a few studies even confirmed that maybe, in fact, that would be better than a placebo. But then I started measuring their metabolic health, their insulin response, their blood sugars, and that powderized molecule in the setting of patients with insulin resistance was actually doing more harm than good.
1:23 The powderized molecule. But this is something that you imagine. They do powderize The animal parts, which are parts that people don't want to eat, that's what they use for these powders, obviously. It's essentially waste products. I wouldn't call animal parts waste products, but when you look at what people consume today, typically most people in this society would call it that.
[video] 1:55 It was giving them a glucose response which in turn lit up their insulin. The opposite of what they needed to improve their longevity. I actually got as far as considering to manufacture this.
2:07 It's probably because of the flavorings. That makes sense.
[video] 2:12 And that's when I saw that the places they were getting the collagen from was not the best. You should get collagen from the extra parts in an animal, like the bone broth, like the bone marrow, and even just the gristle found in meat. Those are all great places where your body will absorb the collagen and use it.
2:29 Okay, that's great. I don't know who this doctor is, but I'm glad that she's promoting animal foods.
[video] 2:37 But what's happening when you eat it from an animal is that you aren't spiking your insulin. So save your money on the collagen, just eat the animal. Next is methylene blue. Now I've oscillated between pretty good and a no-brainer, like a 2 or a 1.
2:51 Oh my god, what? Methylene blue is a textile dye.
[video] 2:59 Before I looked into the research on this, I thought, this is junk science. But it's actually not. This molecule has been around forever. It's off patent.
3:08 Again, she says molecule. It's literally just a textile dye. They have been using it for ages. And then somebody thought of using it as medicine.
[video] 3:22 And so the research that's done on it is kind of buried. And you want to know my favorite side effect when I was experimenting with methylene blue is mosquito bites. Okay, that sounds weird, but I live in Florida and these darn mosquitoes live all year long. And the best repellent in the world is to have me stand next to you because they just love me. I started taking methylene blue and I just got no mosquito bites. Now, there's actually some science behind that.
3:43 Wow, what? And you don't think that that's a bad sign? Think about it. Animals want to suck your blood, eat you, and then you take a textile dye and they don't all of a sudden. And that's a good sign? What kind of logic is that?
[video] 4:05 The original use of methylene blue had to do with anti-malarial effects. Malaria is caused by a parasite, and when the parasite was first discovered and they were looking for antidotes, one drop of the methylene blue killed the parasite, and then it did all- And that doesn't make you think?
4:22 You think that a substance that kills other living organisms, animals, you think that that's good somehow?
[video] 4:37 Wow.
4:40 The substance kills it, or makes it slow, makes it sick, whatever the case. It's not good for them. And then you assume that it's good for you as a human being. Or maybe the textile dye poisons you? Is that maybe possible? Is it possible that the mosquitoes don't want to bite you, eat you, because there's textile dye inside of you? Come on.
[video] 5:08 Activated.
5:33 They would be more alert because of the poisoning. That's not a good sign. It's the same as saying that coffee is good for you because these toxic seeds make you more alert, awake, use whatever word you want. It means that your body has been poisoned. And this textile dye was derived from petrochemicals. Petroleum, essentially. That's what you're taking. Very nice.
[video] 6:10 Dang, most supplements can't even get past the blood-brain barrier, let alone all the way into those mitochondria that are...
6:17 The mitochondria. Here we go again. Oh, man.
[video] 6:21 What is good about it? You simply said that mosquitoes don't want to suck your poison blood anymore and that people are more alert because of it. Yes, textile dye will do that to you.
[video] 6:48 Now, these irritate me so much. When I look at almost all of these, I would tell people, I would not do that. There is one exception, I'll get to that. But probiotics are this way where you're trying to seed the bacteria that populate your colon. That's way down the hose. And so people swallow it. It has to get through the acid. And then that small intestine is sterile. It's free of microbials. So the microbials that you're giving, that you're swallowing, have to get to the colon and then set up their home. Okay.
7:15 most of the stuff out there is not anywhere close to that advanced what i've seen happen in exactly i was going to say the same thing they have to get through the stomach acid it's an unnatural substance that you're consuming anyway and then you assume believe that it somehow helps you it helps you or it's a scam Maybe it's simply a product that some people thought of to help your gut, seeing as so many people have gut issues because they don't eat natural food anymore.
[video] 7:52 And probiotics is, well, they were particles of microbials. So that's never going to turn into the bug that you are paying for. But more importantly, when a bug, you're trying to seed the bug. If you have dysfunction in your gut, it starts to seed it in the small intestine or it puts those bugs in the wrong spot. So I do not like it.
8:13 It makes no sense. Whatever way you want to look at it, you cannot heal your gut, make it better by consuming something unnatural. It's just not possible. The best food for your gut would be of course raw animal foods, which is what we mostly consume in nature. There cannot be anything better. How can there be? Is there anything better than what is natural for you? No, of course not. There is not one example. Some of that stuff will be worse than other stuff, but all of those substances will have some kind of harmful effects.
8:55 And even if there would be whole bacteria, then they would have to survive the freeze-drying, all of the procedures which these substances go through to then end up on a shelf for you to then buy it. When you look at the whole procedure of how probiotics are created, it's pretty much laughable. And by the way, you're also simply, for the most part, actually consuming waste products. Cellulose, some kind of fiber, sweetener, sugar.
9:39 It's simply fillers. And then supposedly in some of these supplements, there is some kind of bacteria. It's a joke.
[video] 9:49 It really took me from a skeptic to believing that probiotics could do something is Pendulum because they actually use the science needed to sporinate the bugs, put them in the right kind of capsules to get past the acid, past the small intestine, and then open up in the area where the large intestine... She must be selling this product, right?
10:08 Because that she puts at the bottom and this one at the top GLP-1 probiotic.
10:18 hmm peptides are a whole joke of its own because what happens when you create peptides is that they take salts ammonia water sugars they feed all of this to bacteria and then through hplc high performance liquid chromatography I've talked about this a lot in my videos. They isolate the peptides, all of which is imaginary. They can never actually see them. And then they essentially assume that they have peptide-like substances, which they can then put into a capsule or they will sell it to you as a powder.
11:17 which will have phosphate salts, again, sweeteners, sugar and just fillers, fiber and whatnot. It depends on what kind of supplement you buy. There are so many of them, but all of them follow this procedure. And then you end up with a substance which is toxic. This has been proven in experiments. They have to test the toxicity of these supplements. They will cause nausea, vomiting, stomach aches. Typically nowadays they don't do the LD50 value tests so much anymore. They will test it until the animal gets sick and if you would consume more of the substance then eventually it would be lethal. This is what you're dealing with. It's crazy.
[video] 12:15 Einstein needs the delivery of these bugs. But I would never put that in a patient whose blood sugar is going up and down, up and down, up and down. I would wait for you to get your metabolism going in the right direction before I'd spend the $300 to $500 it's going to take to actually seed those bacteria in your colon. It's a no-brainer for people who have inflammatory gut problems and they're on a ketogenic journey. They're in a place where their sugars are controlled.
12:38 absolutely makes no sense. You're taking something which is imaginary at the end of the day. You imagine that there's something inside there which has never actually been proven and the effectiveness of these supplements has also never been proven.
[video] 12:59 But I would have a four of overhyped for almost every probiotic that I've read about since then. Vitamin D3 with K2. Absolutely. This is a no-brainer. Everybody should take it.
13:11 No brainer. Vitamin D, which is what they use as rat poison. They also use other substances, but in tests it was actually one of the best rat poisons. And the reason it's used as rat poison is because it's poisonous. I have made videos about it. I have explained it in detail. I can link that in case you haven't seen it. It's very easy to understand. Once you understand all of the toxic substances which are used, especially during chromatography, then you will understand why it's toxic. They use, as I've said before many times, benzene, acetone, chemicals from petroleum. Petroleum is very often involved, coal tar also.
14:11 Methanol, very toxic. And they will tell you that they can filter out a lot of it, but then when you taste a vitamin D pill, you will taste that it's bitter. And they will blame that on something which has never been observed. They will say that the molecule, the vitamin D, is causing the bitterness. How? Where is this vitamin D molecule? This is something that you imagine. How can they imagine the vitamin D molecule, which is supposedly inside of the supplement, which they cannot prove. And then they even blame the taste on the molecule, but we cannot even see it. Not with normal microscopes anyway, not even with electron microscopes. It's an absolute joke.
15:07 Obviously, when you use so many toxic substances, and when oftentimes you're eating essentially petroleum when you consume a lot of supplements today, then how can you wonder that it's bitter? That should be common sense.
[video] 15:24 Take this not only are these hormones, especially the vitamin D it's a hormone and a vitamin at the same time. And they're both fat soluble in our ancestral menus. They were found so many places, but today vitamin D is a canary in the coal mine showing me that your metabolism is messy, especially for fat based molecules. I love looking at this lab for patients and saying, Hey, you need help supplementing is something I do in everybody in my family. I do this. It is a no brainer. Everybody should supplement this. Yes, it's a stimulant, it's a toxin. Same as before.
[video] 16:14 Just some 3D animations, religious beliefs thrown out there in people who are ignorant.
16:30 They will watch this video and simply believe her. That's usually how it goes.
[video] 16:34 It's good, what?
16:51 the plants or the plant chemicals make you addicted to them because they want to harm you. They don't want to heal you. It's not there for your benefit. In nature, if you would eat these plants, let's say that an insect tries to eat this plant, which has nicotine, then it would simply
17:20 not necessarily die, but they would possibly be sleepy, confused, dizzy. That's what happens.
17:35 Nicotine is, of course, also officially seen as a molecule, but the poison that is inside of the plants is something that you can taste. It doesn't matter what you call it. The poison as such is real, of course.
[video] 17:50 Okay, never heard of it, but I'm worried. Anything that's... How... I'm pretty sure this is the one where like the FDA came out and said, hey, y'all are getting scammed. They're putting like Viagra in there. They're putting drugs inside this enhancement or inside the supplement to help you with your male.
18:10 Rhino 69. That's a funny name. I've never heard of it.
[video] 18:16 Struggles. Danger, danger. Do not trust this company. When the FDA warns you against it, best stay away from that one. So this is that I wouldn't do that. Number five. BHB. Yes.
18:29 Okay, yes, but the FDA also approves a lot of substances which are questionable, to say the least.
[video] 18:40 Well, this is absolutely something that I would have on your shelf if you're trying to do the ketogenic diet. I mean, even if you're not really, you're just doing low carb, but you have days where you want the brain enhancement,
18:52 Beta-hydroxybutyrate, the problem with that is that it's made out of petrochemicals once again. And a lot of people probably believe that it comes from meat, some kind of animal foods. They simply blindly believe that and if a doctor like this promotes it then they will most likely blindly trust her and buy it. Maybe you can order it from her website. I don't know if she has one but it sounds like she's promoting products which she at least has some kind of affiliation with. And then you again imagine that you create
19:37 this substance and then you add some sugar salt also funnily enough some fillers to it and you sell it to the people and again they just believe that they are buying this molecule in reality you're essentially buying petroleum filled with the salt sugar and fiber
20:07 That's the reality. You can believe whatever you want, but that's the actual physical reality. That's what happens. That's what you're buying. If you want to simply look at the label and believe that it's something else, then go on. Do whatever you want with your life, but I just told you the truth.
[video] 20:23 Beta-hydroxybutyrate, especially the salts, are the supplements where you can drink yourself into a keto diet. Now, there are places where I'd be careful of it, but when it's a BHP salt, I really have no place where I've seen danger with this supplement. It's a wonderful bridge for anybody who has...
20:42 It has an LD50 value. Of course, it's not good for you. It has been tested. It is toxic.
20:51 It's just strange. These people never talk about where these supplements come from. They simply tell you that you should consume them and then you do that. That's about it really. There's not much thinking involved. I'm not even saying that she understands where they come from. I don't think that she does. I think that if you would ask her, she wouldn't even know. You can go up to her and simply ask her, and what is the actual source of the supplement? What are we actually consuming? Where do they get the beta-hydroxybutyrate from? And she would just stand there and think, hmm, I never actually looked it up.
[video] 21:36 Had too many carbs and they need to get back into ketosis. It's also been really helpful for my severely insulin resistant patients. trying to start their metabolic engine in the right direction and those circulating bhbs aren't just brain fuel or heart fuel which they are it's a signaling agent on how your liver makes its own ketones it's a signaling agent on how that those cells divide and talk to one another so i love this i actually make now the cells are talking to each other it just gets better and better this and i do that because everybody in my family uses it too when we need peak performance for brains i do no brainer magnesium no brainer absolutely no no brainer that's true it's a no brainer if you understand what i mean brainer everybody should be taking magnesium i teach patients the ketogenic diet so we end
22:29 The magnesium supplements have an LD50 value. Even if you consume smaller amounts, you will have stomach aches, cramps.
[video] 22:36 up with a huge amount of diuresis or removal of fluid over the first couple of weeks and it is like clockwork we can predict when their body says oh my gosh we can also it should be noted that the magnesium supplements come from actual rocks you're actually consuming rocks ag1
[video] 23:01 I would probably give it a 3 won't hurt most people. Here's why.
23:05 AG1 is... Of course it will hurt you. Just taste it. It's horrible. Obviously it's not good for you. It's made out of poisonous plants. And you consumed it in a powder form. And to create the powder again, the plants have to go through a toxic procedure. There's nothing good about it. It's a scam.
[video] 23:33 like powdered vegetables, powdered minerals and vitamins. And I swear their business plan is to sponsor any podcast that's ever been around. Cause I hear about their advertising all the time. And in theory, it's a really good idea. Just put your vegetables in a scoop. And my patients hear that and say, well, I don't eat any vegetables. That's where I need to get my nutrients from. Right. And I just found patients get really distracted by saying, if I'm not going to eat the vegetables, I need to powderize them. And the insulin response, meaning when you put a particleized version of broccoli into your body, my insulin resistant patients get they get a response of insulin. They get they make insulin inappropriately. And so anytime I powderize something, it needs to be really worth it for my patients to benefit. Having said that, it's not like those minerals and vitamins are bad for you. It's that if you're healthy and you don't have insulin resistance, probably worth it. Personally, I want my nutrients to come from real food. I think it's.
24:15 Again, her only argument is a religious belief, minerals and vitamins. But then in reality, it's actually just poisonous bitter plants. And that's the reality. That's what we can actually taste and observe. What she's talking about is simply her blind belief. It's not a good reason you cannot base what you eat on some kind of beliefs, simply on something that somebody said or something that you read somewhere.
[video] 24:49 keeps me diligent about eating the things that are kind of on the fringes for society, like bone marrow, or the skin off of the chicken wing, not just the chicken breast. You're looking for the nutrient-dense food, and I'm not gonna depend on powder to get that into me. Mito Pure, wow.
25:06 Okay. I like that she mentions meat here and there, but still, the video is really bad. What she is recommending is unhealthy.
[video] 25:16 You know, this one also took about a month of my life a few years ago when I was diving in to say, dang, they have a ton of research about how their mitochondrial enhancement is done. And again, it comes from like the part of a pomegranate. It's a very interesting origin story. I love the company, and to their benefit, they have done a ton of research on this. I would give it at least a two, pretty good. And the only thing that holds me back is the price. That, yes, I have patients who I really want their mitochondria to be enhanced, and we need to do some repair.
25:44 What the hell is that even supposed to mean? Show me mitochondria in the first place and then show me how to enhance it.
[video] 25:52 Apple cider vinegar gummies? Yeah, that's a five. Okay, four. They aren't going to hurt you. They're just sugar. They're just sugar. When these came out, my husband's like, oh my gosh, you should sell apple cider vinegar gummies. And I'm like, no, no, that is a stupid idea. He's like, look at all the money they make with apple cider vinegar gummies. I'm like, I will never put my name on that.
26:13 yes it's all about the money of course these supplements are cheap to make and that's why the profits are so high especially when they use waste products from some kind of industries they are scamming you but it's way beyond that because they are also harming your health if it was a sort of neutral scam where you consume something and then it simply comes out again with no real harm done, then I wouldn't even really talk about it or make videos about it. It wouldn't be that interesting, but because it's actually really harmful, a lot of these supplements are bitter and they cover up the taste of the supplements with all the flavorings, sugars, sweeteners. It's really a topic worth talking about. And when they tell you that you should consume them anyway,
27:14 because of some religious beliefs, because of something that's supposedly inside of there, that supposedly has some health benefits, then of course I need to make a video and talk about it because it's all lies.
[video] 27:28 Apple cider vinegar itself has some data that lowers blood sugar and it switches the pH a little bit for an hour or so. It helps digestion. But even apple cider vinegar, I have a tough time talking patients into. I want them changing their menu. When the menu includes high sugar gummies that have like a squeeze of the sour apple cider vinegar in them, Good lord. Do not put your money on that. It's completely overhyped.
27:51 Obviously. And apple cider vinegar is not something that you should be consuming on a regular basis. Only if you feel nauseous, if you feel like you have experienced food poisoning. That's about it.
[video] 28:08 I do check for on labs when patients are really struggling with a prolonged segment of fatigue. When patients are low on zinc, it's almost always that they are taking in zinc, but their gut is linking it right out the other side.
28:21 Has an LD50 value, really, it's not worth talking about.
[video] 28:25 Concentrated green tea extract. And this is like a thousand ECGs. I'm pretty sure that's like pretty toxic, like high levels of a stimulant. And like any stimulant, the dose matters. So people here, yeah.
28:39 Right. For so-called stimulants, toxins... The dose matters because you can overdose on these stimulants, but you can never overdose on something healthy. This has never been observed. Obviously, experiments have proven that healthy substances have no LD50 value. Because you cannot overdose on something that's not poisonous, because only the poison makes the poison. The dose never makes the poison. Just never.
[video] 29:14 Green tea is really good for you.
29:16 Sure, it is... Green tea is not good for you. It's a powder made out of poisonous green leaves. There's nothing good about it whatsoever.
[video] 29:26 Like it's a, you know, a cousin to caffeine. It's going to have a stimulating effect, but when you're drinking it in doses found in tea, there's nowhere close to this level. I would say I wouldn't do that. I would stay away from this ashwagandha. Yeah. That's overhyped. Again, what they're looking for is that serotonin reuptake inhibitor process that is found in Prozac, Paxil, Zola, Celexa. And over the years, we've learned that if you're trying to help somebody's brain get out of the symptoms of depression, number one, get their sleep patterns right. Number two, get their menu to have less processed food, less carbohydrates. When I look at things like ashwagandha and compare it to the potency of generic Prozac, it's like one-tenth of a Prozac is ashwagandha. So sure, you have access to it over the counter, but I wouldn't start Prozac on somebody these days either. I would fix their menu, fix their sleep.
30:04 Ashwagandha is poisonous, it's bitter, you would never consume it in its raw form. And that's where the discussion should end.
[video] 30:12 And not start them on that. I'd even use a little methylene blue. Those all quick, easy fixes for them. So, four, overhyped. Creatine. This is a number one no-brainer. Everybody should be doing this. Okay, everybody over the age of maybe 45.
30:29 Again, it's made out of petroleum for the most part. No, it's not made out of beef or whatever you imagine. And again, you may be wondering, how do they make these supplements out of petroleum, petrochemicals, benzene and whatnot? Hmm, it doesn't make any sense. And that's because it doesn't. I'll explain that at the end of this video.
[video] 30:53 If you're looking for your brain to work well, I mean, it's not just for muscle builders. Like, okay, all the rules of that have changed. Yes, it helps your muscle contractility. Yes, that creatine is easy to absorb, gets in your circulation. It hops into your muscle cells and it pulls water into those.
31:09 Hops into your muscle cells. Oh, wow. She actually says that it pulls the water in? muscle cells all those things are true but it all that's interesting because this is typically maybe not typically but it's oftentimes a sign of toxicity that's why you will pull in the water you will store it especially in the muscles and that's what the creatine does also and that's why it kind of looks like you have more mass You kind of do, you could say, because the water is inside of you and it makes you look bigger. But that's obviously not a sign of health anyway, and it's not even a sign of strength or anything like that.
[video] 31:56 It also does that to your brain. The literature on helping with jet lag, helping with cognition, I mean, I can hardly find anything negative on creatine, so...
32:08 Hardly find anything negative. What about experiments that have been done that killed animals because it's toxic? Well, you know, that I just ignore because I'm an American doctor and I just look at what I want to. I make some money with these supplements and live my good life like a slave. I poison everybody, you know.
[video] 32:35 You can get vitamin C found in liver and it's enough to sustain the body as long as it's not in the present.
32:40 Liver. Okay. I like to see that.
[video] 32:43 It's a whole bunch of carbohydrates. So to me, people put in vitamin C trying to have a quick fix for a problem that should have been fixed with a better menu. Whey protein. Okay. So that's, they take milk, they ferment it and they take the whey out of there and they make powdered eyes, powdered protein. I think this is overhyped. I would put a four on this. Get your protein.
33:01 This is the only supplement where she actually explained kind of how it's created. Essentially implying exactly what I always say, that it's a waste product and you're taking in a powdered waste product. But when it comes to all of the other supplements, she doesn't mention that.
[video] 33:22 Supplements can be great, but the real work needs to be done if you want to undo or prevent metabolic problems. When my mom got diagnosed with cancer, I didn't just throw supplements at her. We did the real work. Click here to hear that story.
33:34 I would have put all of these supplements at the bottom. And that's because when you buy supplements, then you're buying unnatural and toxic substances. Some of them will be more toxic than others, but if you consume too much of these substances, then you will experience stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and if you overdose on these substances, then they will become lethal. Healthy substances never become lethal at any dose, as I said before. You will go and buy a tub on which it says creatine or BHB and you will believe that that's what you're buying. Whereas in reality, a lot of times you will be buying
34:28 powdered up petroleum, essentially, which was treated with all kinds of toxic chemicals. But you will consume that and imagine that it's somehow good for you, maybe because a doctor said so. And you will of course almost never actually taste the way these chemicals really taste because of the flavorings. And they add these flavorings to mask the taste because if you would actually taste the real taste of the powder, then you would spit it out right away. Your intuition would tell you not to consume that. And then you may actually look into the source of these supplements.
35:18 But people who don't do that will still keep blindly believing some random doctors on the internet who have no idea what they are talking about. Thanks for watching.
