0:00 What's up guys, as requested I'm going to be reviewing a video called Exercises I'm doing to live to 100. Should be funny.

[video] 0:08 Ever since I became a dad at 40 years old, I've become obsessed with longevity.

0:13 That's good. It means that you want to be around for your children. You want to be there when they grow up. Awesome.

[video] 0:20 I've done everything from researching studies, reading books, getting biological aging tests, even studying the habits of the world's oldest living people. And through this journey, I found five exercises that might improve my chances to live to 100, starting with...

0:33 that makes zero sense, seeing as exercise means stress, and exercise is actually considered to be extreme stress, most of the exercise of today. Therefore, you could never in any way say that exercise is going to prolong your life, or whatever your point here is, we'll see, seeing as stress only decreases your lifespan. There's absolutely no stress that in any way prolongs your life, that makes you healthier. There's absolutely zero health benefits of exercising. As in, zero. I don't mean zero and I actually mean there's a few. No, no. Literally zero. None. I've been asking people for years to give me one health benefit of exercise. Haven't heard one yet.

[video] 1:25 Number one is zone 2 cardio and here's why. Recent studies have shown that VO2 max is a strong predictor of longevity.

1:31 VO2max is literally just a measurement of your body adapting to stress. That's it. It's nothing else. The higher your VO2max, the lower your life expectancy, seeing as it means that you're exposed to more stress.

[video] 1:45 One of the foundational ways to build your VO2max is to build a strong base of endurance using Zone 2 cardio.

1:52 And... Yes, your body will absolutely adapt to the stress, which is what endurance training is about, essentially. Your body adapting to, in this case, running. And that's why your VO2max will improve, so to speak. That's what they would say. But as I said, it literally is just a way to measure how adapted your body is to running, for example.

[video] 2:17 Zone 2 cardio is a type of cardio that you can do for a long period of time that won't necessarily leave you feeling expended. You should be able to have a conversation while doing this type of cardio. And ideally, you would want to keep your heart within this particular range using this chart.

2:28 You have the maximum, hard, moderate, but when you look at all of them, it's all essentially just about your body adapting to the stress, whatever it is you're doing. You also burn calories, that's why you lose the fat. It's all always the same. Walking is not exercise.

[video] 2:46 How is it exertive? That's where the word exercise comes from, by the way, if you didn't know. For a human being to walk, that's what we naturally do.

3:11 Something can only be called exercise if it's unnatural for your body. That's why it's stressful, and that's why it's hard to do it. Running for long periods, especially on pavement, is for sure exercise. Weightlifting is exercise. Crossfit, all of that. None of this is ever done in nature, which is why it's very exertive for your body. Walking cannot be, because we naturally do that. We are naturally made to walk.

3:43 He really just proved that the people that he knew who lived to 100 didn't exercise. And that's how it is for all of the blue zones, for example. None of them ever exercise, as in ever. All of the people who exercise die pretty young. It depends on what you see as young. For me, dying at 100 is young. It has to be because we have way too many cases of people living to 140, 50, 60.

[video] 4:08 Now, my Zone 2 training plan is going to be very simple. I'm going to be using something that is called the MAF method. That is M-A-F. And I'll be using this type of cardio using my treadmill, on a bike, or even just like walking. And if you want to know everything about the MAF method and how it works, I'm going to leave a link in the description below that describes everything about the MAF method and why it is so effective for Zone 2 cardio. Exercise number two is high-intensity interval training. And this is another way to improve your VO2max. Researchers at the...

4:31 Yes, of course, you will improve it even more, because it's way more stressful. University of UT Southwestern used a... And then there's a study, I suppose. I'm gonna have to look into this. I didn't read the article in absolute detail, but it was talking about LV stiffness, the left ventricular stiffness. This is the study that it was referring to. I went over it, not in complete detail, but it's pretty clear that, from what we can see here, that the VO2 max increased. Of course, it has to. Again, it's your body adapting to the stress. If your body wouldn't adapt to it, then you would be insanely sick. and it increased by 18%, which essentially means that your lifespan decreased by 18%. No, I'm kidding. It wouldn't be like that, but it definitely means that the lifespan decreased by a lot if you increased your VO2max by 18%. It means that they were exposed, quite a lot of stress.

5:29 Of course, it's nothing compared to going to the gym. This is the conclusion in previously sedentary healthy middle-aged adults. Whatever that means, we don't even know what these people ate, which is of course the most important part. And a lot of times when people start exercising, they start eating more meat, which would improve your health a lot. Even the left ventricular stiffness, high blood pressure, The stiffness in your arteries, it's all related anyway. Two years of exercise, training improved the maximum oxygen uptake. It has to and increased cardiac stiffness. And essentially what they're saying is that it will prevent future cardiac problems, stiffness attributable to sedentary aging, of course.

6:20 if we don't know what they ate, we cannot really come to these conclusions. This is, of course, not science. It's simply them trying to draw a correlation between exercise and the stiffness. But it should be understood that if you exercise a lot, because your blood will be pumping a lot more, it could actually relieve the stiffness. Of course, overall, you will be decreasing your lifespan. And a much better way to do this would be to simply change your diet. Is it actually going to prevent future hard problems. There's no proof. We can only theorize about it. But for sure, This is very easy to understand biologically, that if you will have a lot of stress, your blood will be pumped a lot more by your heart, and it will, of course, relieve the stiffness. There's nothing strange about this conclusion. That doesn't necessarily mean that they became healthier. They still reduced their lifespan because of the stress.

7:17 The bottom line is that it would be a much better idea to simply start eating naturally, as in raw meat, drinking blood, eating raw fat and so on. Not exercising, of course, which is how humans live in nature, which is how all of the people who live to 100 plus live. Instead of reducing your lifespan by exercising, but then possibly relieving the stiffness, which is caused by the diet anyway. That's why we can't even come to a conclusion, seeing as we don't know if their diets also changed. Typically, if you're doing any kind of exercise, you will automatically crave a lot more meat. That's the case with bodybuilding or any kind of gym activities especially. Here, we don't know.

[video] 7:58 ...particular interval training method that allowed participants to reduce the ages of their heart by 20 years. And I'll leave a link to the study right in the description.

8:07 But that's not the case whatsoever. But... 99% of people realistically will look at this, read the title only, not even the article, let alone the study, and then move on. That's the problem. That's what I'm here for. But you don't want to be training your heart.

[video] 8:24 Your heart is going to grow.

8:34 and that will only lead to more cardiac output, which will always lead to heart failure in the end.

[video] 8:41 At least every once in a while. Now, the bad thing about HIIT training is that it's pretty hard and that's why I don't recommend going from being completely sedentary to doing HIIT training. This is something that you want to be able to work up to.

8:51 Why would you want to work up to that, though? People who do HIIT don't have long lifespans. They live pretty short lives, as far as we can see so far. It's a pretty new invention. But it seems like the logic of this guy is that you should not be sedentary and work yourself up to improving, as in increasing your VO2 max, so that your body is more adapted To run around in a circle for no reason? How would that benefit you in any way? It's the same as people who go to the gym believe that they should be adapted to... He has weights there in the background. Squatting, for example. The more you squat, the more what? The healthier you become? No. Your body becomes more adapted to squatting man-made metal for no reason. But you only decrease your lifespan because of the stress. They don't get this?

[video] 9:48 Now, my HIIT training plan is going to be variable. So every single week, I'm going to do either a form of this thing that is called the 4x4 Norwegian method, or I'm going to be training sprints, which is something that I love doing. Now, sprints, I did a video on...

10:02 You can say whatever you want about sprints, but why do you lie that you love doing them? Show me one video or photo of you enjoying them.

[video] 10:18 And it's also a method that endurance athletes use to improve their ability to run races. And it's very simple. You start with a little warmup and then you go four minutes at a high intensity. That's going to be anywhere between 60 to 75% of your maximum heart rate. And then you are going to be going at a low intensity afterwards for three minutes as a rest. And you're gonna be doing this four times.

10:33 How do you not understand that this is extreme stress for the body? You will always need to create a new generation of cells. You have to. That's biology 101. And you will always shorten the length of your telomeres, which is a great indication of shortening your lifespan. Whenever you decrease the length of your telomeres, then you can always know that you're decreasing your lifespan. Stress does that to the body. You always knew this. Every biologist knew this up until very recently. And now there's a few coming out saying that stress can somehow improve your lifespan, but it can't. It will never.

[video] 11:16 Now, the third type of exercise that I'm going to be doing to live to 100 is going to be strength training. Now, the first two I talked about were specifically for lifespan. So VO2 Max helps you live a longer life. When it comes to strength training... How?

11:27 How? Come on, come on. Why is there no study? Come on, man.

[video] 11:31 It actually improves health span, which helps you live a quality of life. And something you have to understand is that after the ages of... How exactly?

11:39 All that I see are people who get injured in the gym. Not being able to walk, having back problems and so on.

[video] 11:46 We lose 3-8% of muscle.

11:49 People today, how can you take these people as an example? Do you see any tribes in nature losing muscle mass? No, people lose muscle mass because they eat grain-based diets. And when you're 60, 70, you get put into a care home because your children don't care about you. And there you're fed bread with marmalade for the most part. Obviously, your muscle mass will decrease if you're eating almost no meat and no fat. Come on, man. That's not what happens to animals naturally. That's a modern problem. It's unrelated to exercise. It's food.

[video] 12:27 Every single decade and after the age of 60, this number accelerates. And resistance training is crucial to being functional as you age because it helps you build and keep muscle. Now, this doesn't mean that you have to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger or some like puffed up bodybuilder.

12:40 But it does mean that you have to do some... You can't even look like that naturally. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a loser drug addict. An absolute failure. Nobody to look up to. Why would you look up to a drug addict? Literally. Why? Makes no sense.

[video] 12:56 ...form of resistance training to keep yourself functional. And quite frankly, I would rather be the oldest person in the weight room than the youngest person in the nursing home. And my strength training plan is going to be simple. My focus is...

13:06 Yes, you will be in the nursing home if you will eat a grain-based diet and probably develop dementia because of that, if you will not eat enough raw animal fats. That's the only reason. It has nothing to do with exercise, only food.

[video] 13:20 ...be getting stronger in these specific movements, not necessarily exercises, but the movements. It's going to be the squat, the hinge, the lunge, the overhead...

13:29 Literally none of which any human in nature has ever done in his life or her life.

[video] 13:34 Press, the horizontal press, the pull-up, the horizontal back row, and some form of carrying exercise. Usually it's going to be farmer's walks. And the method I'm going to be using to get stronger at these...

13:43 Carrying is the only thing out of that that we would do in nature, but only out of necessity, not that anybody wants to do it.

[video] 13:51 Again, only related to diet

14:18 hardened vegetable oils in the body. Easy to explain, easy to avoid.

[video] 14:22 What I should mention is that you can get flexible lifting weights. That is a way to improve your flexibility.

14:27 But in my experience, especially as I get older, we need... No, not from my experience with people. The more they work out, the less flexible they are. The more stiff they are, the more they have problems even walking.

[video] 14:40 Some form of mobility training supplements our strength training in order to improve our movement capacity and our abilities to just do basic things like bend over and touch our toes. That's all alright, it's not stressful for the body.

[video] 14:59 program that I do and cardio program that I do, I'm always going to be doing a five to six minute mobility drill right before it. And I'm going to do an entire video around this, but if you want to know what those exercises are, what types of exercises are, I'm going to leave it again in the description below. Now, the fifth exercise I'm going to be doing to improve the quality of my life and my health span is going to be some form of plyometric exercises. And plyometrics are simply exercises where you are jumping. Now, we talked about the fact that you lose muscle as you age, but something you have to realize is that you also lose power as you age at a much faster rate than you lose muscle. Why is this happening to me?

15:24 What he's talking about is the degeneration of human beings, not what happens to humans naturally. There's stories of people in Lapland who are over a hundred years old running through the forests like children. That's how their mobility is, the same as children. But they never exercised in their lives. They simply lived naturally and most importantly, they ate naturally. They eat a lot of wild meat there and even a lot of raw meat. Of course, they won't have any mobility issues.

[video] 15:58 Balance, agility. It's like losing a pep in your step. And one way to avoid this is to do some form of plyometric training.

16:03 You can't look at modern slave populations and draw conclusions out of them. It's impossible. The only people who you can use as an example are people who live in nature, or at least somewhat naturally. You can't take grain eaters and use them as an example that our mobility decreases, for example.

[video] 16:25 Something you have to realize is that we get older because of the things that we don't do, rather than the things that we do. When we stop running...

16:31 If anything, then you could say that we get older because of the natural food that we don't eat. It has nothing to do with exercise.

[video] 16:40 Jumping, when we stop lifting, when we stop moving.

16:42 We don't lift anything in nature, except for animals now and then, and only man would do it, and again, out of necessity, and it would be rare, we would do it together, it wouldn't even be hard, you wouldn't be standing there lifting man-made metal up and down. How do you not understand this? What you name there is not something that human beings in nature do, and it's nothing that humans who live to 100 plus do.

17:11 What kind of a reality do you live in?

[video] 17:12 That is all a sign that your body is going to get older. And the truth is, is that you have to use it or you lose it.

17:19 No, it doesn't work like that. It's not about using it or losing it. If you don't lift man-made metal, then of course you won't be able to lift man-made metal as good as somebody who does lift man-made metal. That's not something that you should be doing in general though. That's what he doesn't understand. It's okay not to have the ability to bench press 100 kilograms, for example. There's no need for that in general. There's no need to reduce your lifespan, which means that you increase your VO2 max. To stress your body overall, to lift man-made metal, to bench press for no reason. You only do harm to your body. You only shorten your telomeres. That's it. That's so crazy.

[video] 18:06 Really guarantee that I am going to be living to 100, but I do think it's going to give me a great chance of making it there. But you have to understand that one of the biggest keys to living a long life is getting your body fat to a level where it is preventing disease.

18:19 So I did... How would body fat exactly cause disease? What you're talking about is probably people who are obese because of vegetable oils and drugs stored all over their body from all of the junk food and toxins. But having some good amount of fat, if it's from raw animal foods, it's not gonna cause disease.

[video] 18:52 Jesus.

18:53 It's very hard to take this guy seriously, because he completely ignores the food that you're supposed to eat to live a long life. The more natural the food is that you eat, the longer you're gonna live. And right after that comes The less stress you have, the longer your life is going to be. Obviously, the longer your telomeres are going to stay, the less cells you're going to kill off. If you kill your cells, which is what stress does, then you reduce your lifespan. You kill yourself, essentially. That's what your cells are. It's you. That's exactly what you shouldn't do.

19:30 If you want to promote longevity in your videos, then you need to promote humans eating the natural food which they are supposed to eat in nature, which is raw meat, a lot of organs, the most nutrient-dense foods on Earth, the easiest to digest foods, the foods which we can absorb the nutrients from the easiest, a lot of raw animal fat, blood. Exactly what we eat in nature and then on top of that we should live exactly the way we live in nature Or even the way people who live to a hundred plus live a very low stress life go for walks enjoy nature go out into the Sun and

20:10 Maybe go for a swim now and then, all of that is not really stressful, but doing high-intensity trainings, going to the gym, lifting man-made metal, adapting your body to running in a circle for no reason, increasing your VO2 max to an unnatural state, it's supposed to stay low, that's how you know that you're living a good life, that you're gonna live a long life. He's doing essentially the opposite of what you're supposed to do to live a long life. This is going to end in a disaster if he continues like this. Actually research the topic of longevity. Stop being biased. And if you actually care about your child, which I'm sure you do, then you will do it for your child, right? Your child doesn't care about how much you can... Bench press, how much you can run around for no reason.

21:06 Your child only wants you to be there for him or her. All that your children want is for mommy and daddy to be there for them. They don't care about anything else. You're doing this for yourself and you're not even doing anything good for yourself. You're not improving your health or your longevity. Thanks for watching.
