0:00 Introduce yourself and start at the very beginning, what year it was that you got into veganism and how you got into it and then just what happened.
[video] 0:09 Yeah, okay. Well, it was about like three or four years ago, three years ago. I suffered some mental issues because of relationships and just overall life situations. I couldn't really handle that well and I was eating shit as well. I was eating like, I don't know. pasta and bacon all day long. So that was sort of a wake up call that I should change my diet in some way. But I started off actually seeking help. And I got antidepressant pills, like right away, which was kind of strange, I guess. But I got them right away. And they worked for a couple of weeks.
[video] 0:57 tried some different ones and they all had different negative effects on me but they overall work kind of well I guess and from somewhere I just heard that you could produce like serotonin through your stomach by eating bananas something I didn't I didn't know what that was but I didn't look it up I just just took that for like fact or something so I bought bananas and I bought my first like whole vegan It was actually vegan the first time I went shopping for my new diet. So I ate a lot of bananas and some vegan meals for, I don't know, three weeks. And immediately I felt lighter and better, happier.
[video] 1:52 So I thought it was like, yeah, I got the... I got the answer here, right here. But after a month or two months, my beard, I actually got a big hole right here. So my beard just fell out. And I never had that problem before. So my beard just fell out, and I thought that was weird. So I looked up what could be the cause of that, and it said somewhere that I probably had a low B12 and low iron.
[video] 2:27 So I bought supplements, and after a month, the beard actually came back. But as time went on, I just got more and more tired. My mental health didn't get any better, actually.
[video] 2:46 So after two years of vegetarianism, I thought that I was doing something wrong, because I ate sometimes. I ate some eggs and some milk and stuff like that. So I thought that was the thing. I don't know. I need to get a cleaner diet or whatever. So after a month in Vietnam, I ate a lot of eggs there. And I came back to Sweden feeling kind of bad for doing that, eating eggs all day. So I just stopped. So that was a little over a year ago. So from that, I I decided to go vegan. And the problems got worse. I got massive back pains from nowhere. I just woke up one day and my back was fucked. And I tried to fix that with yoga. I tried to fix it with activities.
[video] 3:46 I did a lot of bicycling and stuff like that. But it didn't help. It got worse, actually. from all that things. And that was not like, I never went hardcore weightlifting sort of stuff, just doing dental yoga things. But it didn't help, and I became weaker, more tired. I actually got a cavity, I don't know, two years in maybe, my first cavity. And so yeah, But I didn't see it at the time. I didn't even think it was any problem with my diet. I don't know what I thought, but I didn't think it was the diet at all causing these problems at the beginning.
4:39 Did you have any other health issues, digestive issues, for example?
[video] 4:42 Yeah, bloated all the time.
[video] 4:47 Not diarrhea, but like explosive shits.
[video] 4:52 Because it was so much air and shit at the same time, so it comes out. Ridiculous. I used to see also, you get kind of paranoid that you don't get everything you need. I've never thought of that before, like if I get enough E vitamins and omega-3s and stuff like that.
[video] 5:19 ate a lot of nuts and chia seeds and stuff like that and that comes out whole like you don't digest shit of that i just i just saw big chunks of nuts in the toilet so yeah but yeah i didn't know i had no clue what i was doing did you have any vegan friends any contacts that you made in the time yeah i had some friends that were vegan and vegetarian are they still yeah I don't talk to them that much. I don't talk to people about stuff like that that often. But yeah, they're still vegetarian.
6:04 How do you see the future of veganism as an ex-vegan now?
[video] 6:10 I don't know. It looks scary. I think it looks scary, actually. Because, you know, I saw...
[video] 6:19 All these companies are starting doing like pea proteins and soy proteins and stuff like that. And I saw a commercial with a lion and it had a broccoli in its mouth. So I'm like, now it's good for all meat eaters to go vegan. And I just got, oh my, that's fucking scary, you know, using that poor lion.
6:44 Right. Is it true that it's being pushed a lot in Sweden? Oh, yeah.
[video] 6:49 Yeah, man. Everywhere. Everywhere.
6:53 A lot of commercials, advertisements everywhere.
[video] 6:55 Uh-huh.
6:56 Right.
[video] 6:57 And people just talking about it all the time. Like it's the right thing to do. Yeah, it's all this.
7:02 Do you think it's especially pushed in Sweden or just everywhere? I don't know.
[video] 7:07 Or so in Sweden? It feels like a lot in Sweden. I have no idea how it looks anywhere else. Yeah. But it feels like a lot, yeah.
7:17 Do you now regret going vegan? Or did you see some experience for the year?
[video] 7:23 Yeah, it was an experience. I'm kind of happy. Because overall, it woke me up to this. It kind of pushed me so far that I had to pop out of it, snap out of it, I guess. So yeah, I'm kind of semi-
[video] 7:45 I don't know. Half thankful for it.
[video] 7:48 As long as you stop. That's the only thing. As long as you stop.
[video] 7:55 I don't think I've had any issues that have lasted. I'm already getting better. My back is getting better.
[video] 8:09 My beard doesn't itch anymore. I had a terrible skin thing just under the beard. It doesn't itch anymore. It feels good. So everything's just back to normal.
8:21 Anything mental, such as depression, feeling unwell in the time when you were vegan?
[video] 8:27 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I got depressed. Absolutely. I'm actually just quitting. I was going for therapy sessions not long ago, and...
[video] 8:44 Actually, I smoked a lot of weed back a couple of years ago. No, no, no. I started maybe six months in to the vegetarianism and a lot of spiritual things as well. But I haven't been smoking weed in eight months. And nothing got better after I stopped smoking weed and continued with the vegan diet. So I thought a lot of things were because of weed. at the time. And maybe, of course, you get a little bit dumb and slow with weed, absolutely. But not like these lasting mental issues I've experienced now. But I feel, I don't know, I'm happy. I'm happy. After every meal I got, I just ate, and raw minced meat. And I don't know. It feels good. It feels great.
9:41 Do you think that it has to do with the lack of the sun in Sweden that you can only get vitamin D from animal foods and the vegans obviously like it even more in the northern countries?
[video] 9:52 Especially this time of year? Yeah, it's a great sunny day today. But we don't get we get like three hours or something like that three or four hours, especially where I'm from, like, more northern northern parts of Sweden. It's dark. Dark this time of year, yeah.
10:09 What's the first animal food you ate after you quit veganism and what do you eat nowadays?
[video] 10:14 Salmon was the first thing. Oh, well, eggs was the first thing and then salmon. Yeah, I guess a couple of times, probably a dozen of times, my body wanted salmon so bad. A lot of good shit in salmon. that I probably need. And then I bought some minced meat, just organic minced meat, just economically wise. I haven't been able to order some real stuff yet, I guess, real stuff. But even that makes a huge difference. And with drinking eggs as well, first time in my life. Never done that before, love it.
11:03 It's easy.
[video] 11:04 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's great.
11:10 What do you think about vegan parents who put their babies and children on a vegan diet?
[video] 11:17 Man, I don't know.
[video] 11:20 Just like religious people put their kids through religious stuff without their consent, right?
11:29 Exactly, yeah.
[video] 11:31 Same thing. This is more dangerous, I guess, like physically and mentally, I guess. But no, that is a big problem to me.
11:40 Because there's a lot of cases of kids getting rickets, their bones are all messed up, or actually babies even dying. A lot of vegans don't hear about this. It's more underground, but it's more and more coming out. It's of course very dangerous to just put your kids on a diet which has never even been tested. There's never been a population that's been vegan. So they're just trying out their religion, their trend on their kids.
[video] 12:07 Yeah, and they get a lot of good feedback as well. I could imagine like that's the that's not a good part of it as well. People like Yeah, you go vegan babies, right?
12:17 What do you think about Germany now wanting to make vegan kindergartens?
[video] 12:23 Oh, that true?
12:24 Yeah.
[video] 12:28 I can only laugh at that. I don't know. That's crazy. That's crazy.
12:33 Or meatless Mondays everywhere. At school, more and more vegan meals, less meat.
[video] 12:39 Yeah, I've heard that meatless days thing. Right. I actually thought that was a good thing.
[video] 12:48 Just to open people's eyes to vegetables and stuff. Like one day a week, I didn't see a problem with that. Right.
12:59 Did your diet consist of a lot of vegetables? What was it?
[video] 13:03 Yeah, every color I could find.
13:07 All of it. So you would say that you did the vegan diet right?
[video] 13:10 Oh, the better I did it, the worse I got. Yeah, absolutely. The better I did it, the worse I got. Yeah. So I really wanted to make sure I got everything. And it doesn't mean if it says on a like fucking not that, that it contains E vitamins doesn't matter. If you can absorb that doesn't matter what it contains, right? So but but I read all the packages and just gathered all the nuts and vegetables and seeds and ate a lot of rice these last couple of months. With all that and coconut milk. I still have some and that's why I'm looking over there. I still have some in my cupboard. Right.
13:58 They have the packages, but they don't understand that there's anti-nutrients and that the nuts are hard and the fiber is pretty much impossible to digest. They can't even get to the nutrients. Would you say that this is a scam? Do the companies know that they're doing this or what is this about? Why is veganism being pushed and why do they push these plans?
[video] 14:20 Yeah, that's what I'm trying to figure out. I'm trying to figure that out. I have no idea. Because either they're just stupid and they think they're doing the right thing because the people, like, they want it. People are asking for these kind of things, you know, all the fake meats and stuff. People want that.
[video] 14:41 But I don't think, like, McDonald's want everybody to be healthy, putting out vegan stuff. So they probably, they want to make money, of course. All these big companies want to make money. And it's really hot right now being a vegan, so you can get a lot of money. But when you see how stupid you become and how easy to control you become, that's also the scary thing on a vegan diet.
[video] 15:16 When you see a large group of people gathering somewhere, there's almost always someone who wants to control that. big pile of people, you know, so just like gathering people like flies to a light. And I don't know. I don't I don't believe the government is as super nice people. I want you to be free. I don't believe that. No. But I don't know. It's deep stuff. I don't really know yet.
15:47 Is there anything you would like to say to any vegans who are watching? Anything special, something that you learned in the time? Any kind of special message?
[video] 16:00 Don't listen to crazy people. Listen to yourself. Listen to your body. Really listen to your body. If you fart all the time, something's up. If you're bloated all the time, something's up.
[video] 16:22 Just try meat. Just try it. Drink one egg, please. You'll see the difference.
16:30 Would you say that it's religious if people don't listen to their own body and listen to other people's advice on what to eat?
[video] 16:36 I could say that, yeah.
16:38 Yeah?
[video] 16:39 Yeah. It looks like it. It looks like a religion to me.
16:45 Anything else you would like to add?
[video] 16:47 I don't know. Thank you, man. Thank you for letting me on. Thank you for all the videos you put out during the years. It's great.
16:55 Yeah. Thanks for sharing.
[video] 16:57 Yeah. Absolutely.
