Ex-Vegan (7 Years): Veganism: Love For Animals But Not For Self

0:00 You can introduce yourself if you like to, and start at the beginning, what year it was, and how you got into veganism, and then how it unfolded. Okay?

[video] 0:11 Okay. So, my name is Sam. My complete name is Samia, but you can call me Sam. I'm originally from Mexico. I'm from Acapulco. And I have a mixed background, so it's very hard for my stomach to know what to eat because I'm German, Irish, and Mexican. So, it's very hard. But how did I get to veganism? Curious, it was through the spiritual route, but also because I grew up loving and adoring animals because I'm the only child. And my dad passed away when I was six, so my mom was forced to work a lot. And I had all the animals that you can name, because they were my companions, and I loved them, I took care of them. And I just got to understand them very well. And I know that they feel and that they're sentient beings, honestly. So I just love them so much. So through that route, I was introduced to it. I was hanging out with a bunch of people

[video] 1:13 that were very into sun gazing and into Pleiadians and grounding and Pleiadian healing and all of that stuff. A lot into fitness and detoxing programs. They actually had a clinic for that back home. That was in 2010, beginning of 2010. I live in Canada, actually, since 2006, but I've moved back and forth to my hometown because it's really nice. Like, Acapulco is a beach, and I have family there, friends and such. So... I started hanging out with this group of people and this person, one of the uncles of a person of this guy, he said, why don't you do a detox program? Cause see, when I was a kid, I was a very picky eater, like picky, picky as you know, my mom would force me two hours to stay on the table to finish my food. And she used to give me vegetables with chicken. And if I didn't eat them, she will blend them for me until I finished that mush of soup, you know?

[video] 2:11 Um, but obviously I wasn't picky for junk food. So, I was always sick when I was a kid, tons of fever, tons of tonsils infections, a lot of back problems because I think, I don't know, due to a little bit of malnourishment I guess because I wasn't eating properly because everything hurt my stomach. Like my mom used to send me with apple juice, like recently pressed apple juice to school, and I would have such a terrible stomach ache. at school that I would cry and she wouldn't believe me that my stomach hurt she just thought that I didn't want to drink the juice because I was a picky eater to begin with so she changed it to carrot juice and it was even worse so because I had all of that story of being sick as a kid and and such this guy recommended why don't you do a detox program and I was like okay what does that entail so this program it was just you know basic non-fat meat and

[video] 3:11 a couple of vegetables and a ton of supplements that he gave me. So my mom and I went to this detox and I felt really good. And then I just started looking into how come I feel good if I removed all those foods. And then all of a sudden I just was removing stuff. But paired to that, these people were into Pleiadian healing, right? I don't know if people know what Pleiadians are, but supposedly that I don't believe right now anymore. They come from the Pleiades, which is a cluster of stars, and they're these amazing, incredible beings that are superior to us, and through channeling of their energy, you can heal someone, which today I believe is complete crap. So, this Pleiadian healing protocol entailed to clean your body as much as you could from animal foods.

[video] 4:07 And that, not that I was healing, but I was listening how these people were doing it. And through that, I got into this other belief that is honestly ridiculous now that I think about it, but it's a book called The One Being. And it's supposed to be a channeling from, again, beings from another galaxy or whatever that tell you how to ascend, right? How to be a better being in this world, so at some point you could ascend to whatever dimension, which was, I think, the sixth or the fifth, I don't remember. But through those books, which were like five books that I read so much, these beings asked you to not eat any animal food or any junk food. So that's how I started. And because I was researching on how to eat like that. Oh, I have to say also, I'm a chef by profession. So I love cooking, even though I'm a picky eater, which is funny.

[video] 4:59 But through these books, I got researching and how to stop eating animals and how to do recipes and veganism came up. So I was looking through veganism and Of course, you have to go through the whole university of forks over knives and, you know, all these videos that are completely gruesome. I was traumatized for like four months. I still can't even think about those videos. They're the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. So I think I was crying like literally for four months when I saw those videos. So I said, no more. Like, because obviously they get you through there. because you don't know that there's other type of farming. It's like we forgot what basic biology is just by watching those videos, you know?

[video] 5:50 We forgot how the planet works in symbiosis and we're just paying attention to the factory farming videos that they show us, right? So at that time also I had already come back to Canada I started being vegan in 2010, but I came back to Canada in 2012, and a friend of mine also recommended to do a juice detox, because through my veganism experience those first two years, probably it was a little hard because I was in Mexico, and veganism in Mexico at that time was Nobody knew, right? So sometimes they would put cheese accidentally on my food, or they would make it with lard, because in Mexico it's very common to have those types of food included, right? Without even knowing. So even if I wanted to be full vegan, I was still kind of like introduced to those foods because of a mistake that the chef had done or whatever, right?

[video] 6:48 I wasn't as picky as I became later, which I was pretty bad. So I came back to Canada around 2012, and a friend of mine said, why don't you do a juice detox? Because I was still feeling not 100%. So I went on a seven-day juice fast, and that's when I felt like I was flying. I felt like, because obviously I really got rid of everything that probably was junk in my diet. And like every other vegan, at the beginning you feel amazing, right? You feel like... you're flying literally like my body was feeling great so those seven days I finished and My abs were flat. You know, I was looking great at that moment. My skin was looking great. So I got into the juicing stuff and I started researching. I became a self-taught nutritionist because I wanted to know what was good and all of that. So, you know, all of us as vegans, we do tons of research.

[video] 7:46 But of course, Google is going to feed you what you need to read, not really what it is, because you're really looking into specific topics. Like if I was looking to see what kind of minerals a typical green juice had. It will dump the minerals there, but I didn't look into if they were absorbed through my body or not. So, I started getting so much into juicing that I decided to create a business, and this was in 2012 at the end. I was full vegan now in Canada, which was super easy because everybody knew what veganism was.

[video] 8:26 Um, I started traveling back home just because of vacation, whatever I had to do. And people were like, wow, you look amazing. You know, obviously I was a size zero because I had done all these veganism. Probably I was a size six like I am now. And then I dropped so much weight. I was weighing like 110 pounds and I'm five three and I was really skinny. The first time I landed in Mexico after all this veganism juice fast, one of my friends told me, you have a 14-year-old, a body of a 14-year-old girl. What happened to you? But I couldn't see it at that time. I just felt great because I was a size zero and I was feeling great. You know, my skin looked great. So friends of mine... We're like, I need you to help me do the same thing, right? So then my business exploded back home and I was traveling from Canada to Mexico to do all these juices. So I used to sell empty bottles, which was pretty smart.

[video] 9:25 I used to sell empty bottles with little bottles with supplements, spirulina, wheatgrass, hemp seeds, chia seeds, all of this stuff, probiotics, very cool and whatever, very vegan and innovative. Um, you know, because you speak like this when you're vegan or whatnot, you're like so over the top egocentric, um, that, you know, I created this beautiful package with, um, you know, the design was made in Spain by a friend. So it was really great. It was a beautiful package, but it was empty bottle. So I used to give you a program and you would actually juice for yourself because I didn't have, you know, any means of having a juice bar or transporting stuff from Canada to Mexico other than the stuff that I just mentioned and people were going nuts for that because back in 2012 back home it wasn't as popular as it is now everybody has

[video] 10:20 a massive machine that can hold tons of vegetables and you can juice gallons, right? I started with a typical Breville machine that it's a centrifugal machine and then I started going up to masticating juicers, up to the biggest masticating juicer, I forgot the name, it's a metal thing, I forgot. Anyway, and then I started traveling so much back home that I was making more peso than Canadian peso. Canadian dollar sorry, there's no Canadian peso. So then I decided to just stay there for a little bit and this I'm talking Around 2014 at the beginning that I I went to Mexico and because I'm a chef people were starting to get into app and my hometown is very small and everybody knows each other so everybody started asking for cooking classes and

[video] 11:18 So there I was in my apartment in Acapulco, receiving at least 10 to 12 people every weekend to show them how to cook vegan. And mind you, the plates, the dishes were beautiful. Because veganism can be gorgeous to the eye, right? Colorful, and you can dress it up so beautifully, so people get drawn to that. And on top of that, I was doing so much research. that I was giving mini lectures to people in regards to nutrition, whatever I could like research, which would make sense because, you know, all of your videos that I've watched, you do the research and they say that, you know, rats develop cancer with whatever, whatever, casein, right? And this and the other. So you do believe that, but the research now that I know, it's pretty biased to what's reality to all of us, right? And also we're not rats, so you can't compare us with rats, right? But at the time, I was so involved, so anyways, I did my juicing program that was selling pretty good.

[video] 12:15 I was doing my cooking classes, which were going great. I started getting very popular, even across the country. I had tons of interviews with shows, and I was in magazines. I used to write articles. It was pretty big, because I was the only one doing that, probably in the south of Mexico.

[video] 12:37 In one of my trips back and forth, because I stopped the cooking classes and I came back to Canada, and then in one of my trips I discovered that some of my acquaintances, I will call them, because I know them since we were kids, but we were never that close, they were opening an organic store.

[video] 12:55 in a really nice plaza back home. So these people were like, oh, well, why don't you come here and sit because you're very knowledgeable about supplements and stuff. And I'm like, okay, fine. It's nice. It has air conditioning. I can work there because at that time I was an entrepreneur, right? So I was sitting there and I started looking around and they didn't have much stuff because they were trying to target local stuff. And local stuff back home, they don't have those types of high-end supplements you know, supplements that you get in the U.S. or Canada or Europe. So I started saying, you guys, you need to bring spirulina, and you need to bring wheatgrass, and you need to bring, you know, maca, and you need to bring this and the other. And chia seeds are pretty endemic to Mexico, so it was easy to get. But the other stuff, they started sourcing, and they started listening to me. So through my influence, that organic store started getting a lot of attention. And a couple of vegans started rolling in and out.

[video] 13:51 whatnot and I started chatting with them they're like oh well you know can you advise me so I started keeping nutrition advice to those people so I era was with my juicing program teaching how to cook sitting in the nutritionist nutrition store or organic store giving nutrition advice and And all of a sudden, I had four or five offers to open a restaurant, you know, a vegan restaurant, because everybody was raving about my dishes, because I do have training for cooking, right? So they were beautiful. And, you know, I was pretty selective with who I went with a restaurant, but next to the organic store, there was a free, a spare, how do you say, ¿cómo se dice local en inglés? Right, a location, right? So then they're like, why don't we open the restaurant here? I selected the organic people. They're like, we'll put the money and you'll put the know-how. And I'm like, fantastic.

[video] 14:49 So mid-2014, in two months, I was able to run a restaurant. From, I think, August to the end of September, until mid-October, I already had a running restaurant with people

[video] 15:08 everything. It was just so beautiful. You can Google it if you want. It's called Verde Vegan. It was just an attractive, beautiful, high end restaurant that nobody had, you know, and it was vegan and it was innovative. So people started coming and we had juicing programs for everyone. Obviously, my juicing program started to run through the restaurant. And at that time, I met my husband. So we got married. He helped me open the restaurant. And He's an American guy, so he had a lot of knowledge into logistics and all of that, so he helped me a lot with that. Training people, everything, in two months, the design of the restaurant, it was a titanic work for me. At the end of it, I was exhausted. Obviously, my body started to tell that I was overexerting myself, because on top of that,

[video] 16:05 I have a certificate for personal training, so I was training people on the side. So I was doing all of this, plus training people in Toronto, and I was training people in Mexico. I trained brides. Obviously, I put them on a vegan diet. They lost the weight like that, and they were fit for their wedding, you know? So everybody was like, Samia's the best. And I was like, yay, my ego to the roof, right? So then we started working in a restaurant and it was a lot of work, a lot of work, 15, 13 hours a day, very, very demanding customers. I wouldn't want to get into that because that's another topic and I have to write a book about that. But I started having a lot of migraines, migraines that were, honestly, one time I was screaming the whole night and my husband had to hold me

[video] 16:57 like little kid tell me a lullaby to go to sleep because I just couldn't I Thought my brain was gonna like fall through my nose like Then because I already had problems with my back when I was a kid I had I had scoliosis and second vertebrae apparently was shifted like this so I always had like a ball here and I have to go to the chiropractor since I was nine and I started having a lot of back pain, especially on my shoulder, like a ball. I had to go to a massage therapist to aid it, but nothing was happening. Then I started to become really snappy. I had to hide from customers because I didn't even know how to put a good service face to people. I was starting to get extremely hungry because I was overexerting myself. And vegan food wasn't really, I mean, I had a vegan restaurant.

[video] 17:50 So I was eating from my restaurant, massive meals, hamburgers, salads, Buddha bowls, you know, all this stuff, juices and smoothies. And I took every single supplement that you can tell me I took it. So I started breaking out. I started breaking out here. I still have some scars from that, but they weren't pimples like normal pimples. And I also never had skin problems like everybody else in your video say I never had skin problems. Well, I started having like cysts and they were so bad that you couldn't break them out. Like even the person that, you know, a professional would be like, you have to let it be because if I open that, you're going to have a massive scar, but they wouldn't leave. And like, two, three months. So obviously I had a ball there on my on my cheeks and sometimes on my forehead and just I started poking them because I was so sick of having those balls on my face and I have so many scars.

[video] 18:48 Then I started having the rash that you get at the end of the lip here that it's like really scaly and itchy and red. So I was trying to cover it up with makeup. Then I started getting dandruff.

[video] 19:03 then what else depression crying all the time bloating like you have no idea my shorts wouldn't fit and this is like at the end of 2014 because I already had worked the restaurant like three months so I was very stressed also I started becoming a little bit

[video] 19:26 anal, to not find a better word, with waiters and people from other restaurants. Because I was like, you cannot put any animal product on my food. It's disgusting. It's revolting. I don't want anything like that. And my friends started hating me. My friends started being really different towards me. I would have appreciated if they would have told me straight up how they were feeling. But instead, they were starting to talk behind my back. And I could feel they were a little strange. And years later, they told me it was because of that, because I was terrible with the service in restaurants.

[video] 20:09 But then, Mexico is a very special country, and I love it. I would give anything to live there. But there are some times that the infrastructure doesn't work. So everything was broken, because we live in a beach town. And we had a restaurant, sometimes we wouldn't have water for two weeks. So how was I able to wash tons of vegetables and fruits for the restaurant, for the vegan restaurant, and raw vegan as well, without water? How would you even shower, right? So you have to find out ways to find drinkable water to wash kilos and kilos of lettuce, you know? And my husband and I sometimes would have to...

[video] 20:58 shower with pool water or rainwater. So my husband being American said, you know what? I didn't know how good I had it until I came here because we're so stressed. We have no water. Oh, sometimes we didn't have electricity. In Acapulco, it's always 30 plus degrees inside the restaurant with the direct sun we're boiling. So I was starting to like really fall apart. Like we were having terrible fights because he became vegan too. So, you know, we're all like skinny and stuff. And I said, that's enough. I don't want to live here anymore. I'm tired of this. Let's go back to Canada. I love Canada. I've been living there for so long. Let's go back to Canada. So we packed up our stuff. I left the restaurant. And we came to Edmonton, Alberta, because I used to live in Toronto before we came to Alberta to the west. And because in Mexico, you have all of the fruits that you want. It's a tropical weather. And it's cheap.

[video] 21:57 Avocados, you name it. You can buy thousands of avocados for cheap. But here, it's a different story. Everybody has to bring everything from my country or even farther south. So in order for us to eat vegan, you know, it wasn't as easy as eating vegan in Mexico. So we started resourcing into junk vegan food, right? We started eating vegan. vegan sausages and vegan cheese and i was craving for that because we didn't have any of those products back home and i also truly was craving real sausages and real cheese but you know i was vegan so i was preaching vegan and pushing vegan and everything vegan i had a restaurant vegan and my juicing vegan and everything vegan that you know i had to eat vegan in the first world you know like sausages and cheese and whatnot well i started adding that to my diet that was it you know

[video] 22:52 I was working at that time that was at the beginning of 2016 I was working with managing some properties and I had to commute a lot and we didn't have a car yet so I used to take the bus I would sleep on the bus sometimes miss my stops I had to come home midday to take a nap that I said you know it's gonna be 20 minutes no it was two hour nap and I would wake up and I was like groggy like I couldn't even open my eyes I started getting more dandruff, my teeth started bleeding, I started to get teeth sensitivity, you know, because, again, like every other person in your channel says, I never had problems with my teeth, I could always buy a lollipop, a popsicle, my home is always typical because it's so hot, Um, but now I used to touch something cold or even here in Canada, like minus 30 degrees, breathe through your mouth and my teeth were aching. What's going on?

[video] 23:50 My joints started hurting, but the worst part is that I started gaining weight, you know, but like tremendously my face starting to get poofy and you know, like nothing fit from size zero. I went up to two or three sizes up. I was like, what's going on? Maybe I'm not working out enough, you know? Maybe I should just dump the junk vegan stuff. So then I dumped the junk vegan stuff, started going back to my juicing. Now I'm going to cleanse. I'm going to detox and whatnot. I'm going to laugh because it's so ridiculous how you think you're cleansing and you're like dying. But anyway, I'm going to cleanse. So I did a juice detox, and yeah, I lost a couple, but it wasn't like before. My body was not responding like it used to respond before to detoxes, because you can't imagine how many detox programs I did to myself with juices, because I was selling that. And sometimes my friends would be like, okay, but you do it with me.

[video] 24:48 Or sometimes I would travel to another state in Mexico, and I would have 15 people, because They would join together and say, come with us. We'll host you here and you'll do the juices for us. So I would have to do the detox with them. I remember one time I went to Chihuahua, which is in the north of the country, and I had, yeah, like a group of 20 people and meat detox. I was like, you know what? I'm too skinny. I need to eat something. I was eating vegan, but I just couldn't even finish the detox because my body couldn't handle it. I was so skinny, but I just didn't see it that way. You know, I was like, oh, whatever. I'm hungry. I'm just going to eat. And I broke the detox. So back here to Canada, I just couldn't anything. I couldn't live. You know, with all the symptoms that I just mentioned, plus others, you know, I started getting horrible PMSs. You know, like I had to go into a bathtub for like two hours with hot water and Epsom salts because I just couldn't even... The pain was terrible.

[video] 25:47 We moved from one place to another and my back started... falling apart I already had those problems well I can't even describe the terrible pain that I was having in my back my husband had shoulder surgery and they give him really strong medicines or for for his pain and then when he got healed and I started getting this pink I started taking those medicines you know it's illegal but I started doing it because I was in so much pain and I don't even know the name of the pill, but it's like a really standard drug that makes you sleepy, you know, after a surgery. And I remember just popping the pill and just watching TV and doze out and go to sleep. So I became a little bit addicted to pills because I was in so much pain for my back. You know, at some point I went to the chiropractor and they're like, oh, well, you have second degree degeneration in your neck. And I'm like, huh? What does that even mean? They're like, well, your neck is,

[video] 26:45 First of all, it's not curved, it's straight. And second of all, the bone's degenerating. And I'm like, but I'm 33 years old. How is that even possible? So paying chiropractic bills, drinking these pills to numb myself after a long day of work, because I started working somewhere else that was very demanding, coming home, bus riding for two hours a day, still trying to eat vegan and stuff.

[video] 27:14 What else? I had other symptoms, but I don't even remember. All of them, I had them. I started to see myself in the mirror, like, really, like, you know, ugly and, like, sick and swelled and poofy and just depressed that I said, okay, there has to be something wrong here. Again, I love animals. I love veganism. It has given me a lot, but I want to know what's wrong. So again, I started researching and I literally put in Google all of my symptoms and insulin resistance came up. And I was like, whoa. I'm like, I'm insulin resistant? What does that mean? So I started researching. What does that mean? What does that mean? What does that mean? And borderline diabetic, literally. Like, borderline diabetic. I couldn't keep my eyes open. Every single thing that I ate made me

[video] 28:09 Super happy the first five minutes and then, you know, like I was just like this terrible ball of problems.

[video] 28:18 So then I started researching on how to cure that. And long behold, I came across ketogenic diet. And what does that entail? Salmon, cheese. you know, chicken, eggs, and I was like, I can't eat eggs. I was crying like such a drama queen, ridiculous, you know, I can't eat eggs. Disgusting. Oh, you know, it's like, it's like, what is it?

[video] 28:44 The menstruation of a hen or whatever, you know, also, because when I was a child, one time I opened an egg and there was a partial chicken there and that really traumatized me, you know, like I saw this blood in the plate and I was like, ah, but anyway, I said, I need to heal. I'm going to try this out. And I started eating, um, ketogenic at the end, no mid 2017. So I had dragged all of this with me since like the symptoms probably since mid 2014. So the first time we went to a restaurant, I'm like, I need someone to serve me something. I'm not gonna cook it myself. We went to a restaurant, I had a chicken.

[video] 29:35 I like everybody else. I can't even describe what happened to me. I was like, you know, like, my eyes went like this, you know, like, like a cat when you open a cat can or you give them a piece of meat. I was like, this is incredible. And I just finished the chicken. And I started implementing ketogenic diet, and I started feeling so much better. I think my body went down to its normal weight for a little period of time, but I had made so much damage to my body that I gained the weight back. And I was very strict because I was strict with veganism. I was going to be strict with ketogenic diet. Well, lo and behold, I had hypothyroidism. You know, my numbers went through the roof from the TSH. And the doctors are like, well, you have hypothyroidism. I'm like, what? I didn't even know. I was never sick since I started veganism until I started getting the first symptoms.

[video] 30:31 I was always great, except for one particular problem, which is pretty TMI. That's why I'm not mentioning it. But then I started getting all these problems, and then I got a little better with ketogenic diet, and then I had hypothyroidism. had to go research what that was so I started battling with hypothyroidism and then me and my husband my husband started trying for for a baby this was this year at the beginning of this year so end of March of this year oh you're pregnant whoo you know and this is where it gets interesting I was pregnant and my symptoms were, okay, there's the symptoms of a pregnant woman. Multiply that by 100. You know, my body was not responding well.

[video] 31:32 I was feeling crappy all the time. I was even crying. I couldn't swallow my prenatal vitamins, you know. I was like, I would cry literally. My husband would laugh, but you're so ridiculous. I'm like, I can't, I feel awful. So we told my mom that I was pregnant. And when I was 10 weeks, we told my mom here in Canada. We made her a surprise. We brought her here. And then we told my husband's parents through Skype. And he was like, yeah, you're pregnant. Woo. That was a Wednesday in May. On Friday, I had my first ultrasound. And we went to the ultrasound. And the nurse is there, you know. looking and stuff. And I thought it was gonna be like the movies, like you go and you have the screen and you see all the baby and whatnot. They're like, Oh, there's a little foot and there's a little hand. Nothing happened. I'm like, Okay, well, maybe not. They don't do it here. So then the nurse is like, Well, I'm gonna have to do this other invasive exam. I don't I don't I don't know if you mind.

[video] 32:31 I'm like, whatever you have to do. So they did the invasive exam. It wasn't fun. She's like, I'll be right back. She left 10 minutes later, a doctor walks in really serious. I'm like, Okay, And he says, he's like, unfortunately, there's no baby in there. You have a molar pregnancy. And I'm like, huh? Again, what? I'm like, what is that? I'm like, I don't know what that is. Is that like outside? It's like, well, instead of a baby, you have a tumor. And I'm like, okay. So obviously I started crying and my husband was like, you're okay. He's like, well, that was a Friday, right? You need to go on surgery right away. right away because we need to take care of that. And they don't give you much information. So I came home and I started Googling. We all cried. We cried it out. We were OK. You know, it was just an idea. I wasn't even a baby.

[video] 33:28 So but I started researching. And if I didn't take care of that really quickly from a tumor, it could have become cancer. So there's different stages of that. And my stage was number two. And if I didn't take care of that quickly, it would have been choriocarcinoma, which is the name is like horrible. So it spreads through your lungs and through your liver if you don't take care of it. On Monday, I was already in surgery like that, like the system here acted quickly because if you don't treat it, it just spreads. So Monday I was in surgery.

[video] 34:09 It took me two weeks to recover from that. My body, even though it did a little bit well in ketogenic diet, I just don't think it was strong enough for this stuff, obviously. And then researching into what that is, it's the tumor develops because your egg is empty. So then the sperm comes to the egg and tries to overcompensate for what the egg doesn't have, right? So now that I think about it, it's because I ruined everything with veganism. I blame veganism for this, you know, literally, and hypothyroidism because of that, you know. So I went through surgery, and then you have to go to the lab to take some blood tests twice a week because there are some levels that are called HCG or hormonal level for pregnancy. Obviously, my levels were like

[video] 35:06 Thousands and thousands higher like normal pregnant women and that's why I was feeling so awful Because you have to know that in ten weeks of pregnancy. I look like a four month pregnant Everybody was like, oh those are twins. No, it's a tumor There's no twins. There's a tumor in there So every two times a week I should go for for blood tests just to make sure that that level would would come down and And as long as the levels are coming down, you have to reach minus five. You're good. It means that the surgery worked and they removed all the tissue and you're good to go. At this time, I didn't even care what I was eating, you know, because when I became pregnant, I had cravings for the crappiest thing you would imagine, literally white bread with ugly yellow cheese and chips. And that's what I wanted to eat. Because my body was craving just nutrients all over. But I didn't know how to process that. And my cravings were awful.

[video] 36:06 So one time I go to the lab, and my numbers went up. That means the tumor grew back.

[video] 36:13 And that means that they had to refer me to the cancer cross because I was going through chemotherapy. So then that happened this year. I started chemotherapy, June. And I finished at the end of August. I had four rounds. Luckily, I had a lot of hair, so I just lost three quarters of my hair, which I'm really grateful for that.

[video] 36:36 And we just had the most, I don't know, tough year, you know, because my body is just recovering still from all of that. And then you put it through all that. I don't even know what to do anymore, you know. Like I, I'm so confused. Like, you know, I have observed people that are carnivores and such, but I'm like, I'm so scared of even trying anything new. But I know that if I eat something, I wreck my intestine. There's not, there has not been a day in like four years that I haven't had diarrhea.

[video] 37:18 It's insane. You know, and I've gone through probiotics and this and the other. Keto obviously helped a little bit, but not as much. So now that I have all this history of what just happened to me this year, it's like, okay, well, what am I going to try now? But lately I've been craving so much animal products that we have been incorporating bone broth and, you know, ketogenic diet, I have to say, helped me a lot through chemotherapy because I read that I shouldn't eat sugar at all and After the tumor was gone, my craving levels for crappy stuff went down, so I ate ketogenic throughout my whole chemotherapy, and I think that helped for me just to have four rounds, because the tumor didn't have anything to eat, because, you know, they ferment, and they eat sugar fermentation. Even the doctors were like, oh, wow, this diminished really quickly, even with the chemotherapy, because some ladies go through like 10, 12 rounds, and I just went through four, right?

[video] 38:18 But overall, at the end of this whole journey, I'm so confused with food now. Like, I'm so confused. And, you know, I watched the lecture that you posted about the doctor. I don't know what her position is, but she's talking exactly about basic biology, about how cows and this and the animals and the environment and how we don't digest plants. And when I was listening to it, I'm like, it's like I'm back in school. Like, how did I ever forget that? But now I have to apply it in my body. Lately, I joined a program for regulating the thyroid, and because I was a mess, I wasn't sleeping at all. Through chemotherapy, I barely slept. I had panic attacks.

[video] 39:05 I wasn't sleeping at all for so long because of veganism, too, that I ruined my circadian rhythm. And then here in Canada, the sun goes down at 4 p.m. I barely receive any sun. Like, if I go to the office at 9, the sun's just rising, and I come home at 4, I have no sun. So I joined this program where they put my circadian rhythm in order. I do certain steps that I have to follow in order for my body to start learning how to behave itself again. And I'm happy to say that from 6.3 TSH, which was high in the first month of this program, I came down to normal to 3.1. But I still haven't figured out the food. Like they give you a list of foods that you can eat, but I'm not satisfied with the list of foods because now I hear that, you know,

[video] 39:54 spinach has this and the other one is an anti-nutrient and this one has this and I'm like I'm so confused you know why couldn't I just eat normal because I was always the weird bug everybody was like eating meat and they're like oh you don't need meat you're weird but I was like yeah veganism and preaching you become like a pastor for this it's ridiculous so yeah I basically, I try to sum it up because there's many details in between that that I I didn't include but that's that's roughly how it developed.

40:29 How did you handle the cold in Canada when you were vegan?

[video] 40:33 Oh, I was always cold, but I was a tough vegan. I was a tough vegan Canadian and I would just go out and just have

[video] 40:43 The regular clothes, but I was always cold, especially at home. One of the things that I forgot, and thank you for reminding me, is that I used to meditate a lot in 2012 to 2000. Well, since I started because of the Pleiadian, you know, subject and such. But I used to meditate, right, for like half hour. And after every meditation, I would pass out for two hours because I was an entrepreneur, right? So I didn't have a schedule. would literally meditate and then just flop to the floor and sleep there for two hours and I thought that was normal like ridiculous but no I was always cold especially inside of my house yeah what do you think veganism is about where does it come from and where is it heading you know what I find it such a strong agenda it's like I

[video] 41:37 right now I see it as a Florida fluoride and water you know it's just like leaking everywhere like now everything every restaurant has to have a vegan option everything in the supermarkets have to have a vegan aisle everybody knows what veganism is government supported nutritionist supported life coach support it but I think veganism came from different aspects but if I had to bend to one I it's more into like it was more from spirituality from like cleanse yourself you know ascend and be better than everyone type of thing you know um and then obviously you put forks and knives in front of anybody and anybody's going to become vegan you know if we're if as dumb as we work because i was done like just to to go and take leaps of faith because of pleiadians and

[video] 42:32 you know, forks and knives and Gary Yourofsky, you know, this compelling video in a university. And this guy has, you know, he's right.

[video] 42:43 And because it comes from a spiritual background in my belief, I think it's pretty religious. Like it becomes a religion. And OK, I'm in a group of 10 people. I'm the only vegan. And everybody's asking, you know, Where do you get your protein from? How do you blah, blah, blah? How this and the other? And you start preaching, blah, blah. Even if you don't convince them, it's all that you talk about. It becomes your life. It becomes everything, you know? It's not a diet. It's a lifestyle. Woo! You know, it becomes that type of cheerleader for this religion that it's absurd, you know? It's absurd. It's complete madness and it's sickening and... And... You know, I wouldn't say that if I went back I wouldn't do it because it gave me beautiful experiences.

[video] 43:35 You know, I had the chance to be an entrepreneur for a while and make my own buck and that was completely satisfying.

[video] 43:45 But in regards of health, I just, no. Like one time I had a cat in Canada and I tried to make that poor creature vegan. Can you understand the oxymoron of this? I love animals. I'm vegan, but I'm torturing a cat because I'm so stupid and ignorant. It's ridiculous. The poor cat. I remember trying to feed him seaweed and this and the other to whatever, balance his food. The first time I opened a can of real food, that guy was like on the food like there's no tomorrow because he started developing, I think it's called pica, which is...

[video] 44:22 repetitive behavior that cats have if they're malnourished so he started licking cement we would be walking and he would like lick cement because I used to leash train him back then or he would eat like soil trying to find nutrients the poor thing so I think I had him vegan for like the first two months and then I'm like no here have some meat you can't be vegan you know but we fall into this trap of dumb. We're dumb. That's why I love your videos and how straightforward you are. What an idiot you say or like, you're so stupid because we're stupid. You know, it's stupidity. Like, how else can I label it? You know, you trust in your research, but you really don't research as much.

45:08 And how do you see the future of veganism?

[video] 45:16 I feel that if we start getting enough sick vegans to to keep the balance of the scale. You know, enough sick vegans that are not scared of ruining their reputation, that are not scared of other vegans being poisonous to them, that are strong enough to come out and say, hey, you know, I tried, I probably was preachy, I'm sorry, I made a mistake, but this is what I'm doing now. If we get to that point, probably, in a couple of years, there will be more information about it. But because it's so rooted now and the movement's so stubborn, I do feel that it's going to become stronger for sure. Because when you're in that area of veganism, everything in your feed, in your YouTube feed, in your whatever, you know how internet works with algorithms and stuff.

[video] 46:15 So everything that they push through your through your feed is vegan. So actually, it I don't even know how I found your video because I was I was typing in YouTube stuff about X vegans when I found the ketogenic diet and I couldn't find anything. You know, that was a long time ago. And I don't even know how you're I think because I started watching ketogenic videos, then your carnivore one came up and I just clicked and I saw this X vegan thing and I'm like, Whoa, the first video I saw was the the lady, that really nice lady, I think 20 plus years of veganism, and I was like, you know, like, this is everything I lived. Every single story that people tell is like exactly it. The body, the body is so amazing.

[video] 47:03 It's such a wonderful piece of miracle, you know, that every single body, if you look back at your videos, the body tells specifically in a certain order, I think, you know, The symptoms that it gives you and the alerts it gives, they're so telling and they're the same. You know? But we're so blind not to see, but yeah, I think it's going to become stronger and... Yeah, because we have become politically correct in this world now, we can't, you know, go out and say, because then you're like, you know, I don't know.

47:42 Do you still have contact with any of the vegan friends you used to have? Are they still vegan?

[video] 47:47 I never had vegan friends. I always had acquaintances because I had a restaurant and I was teaching people and stuff, but I never actually had close friends that were vegan. No, all of them are normal. Just the standard Mexican diet or a standard American diet or Canadian diet. But no, those acquaintances, no, I have no idea because I left the restaurant, came here, and I just didn't. It's just the restaurant was actually taken away from me illegally, so I just forgot about it. And I just didn't even want to talk to anyone over there.

48:22 Anything else you would like to add? Any experience, something you learned, or something special you would like to say to any vegans who are watching?

[video] 48:32 To the vegans that are watching, value your body. If you really love animals, love yourself first. You're a mammal. Why are you torturing yourself? Go back to basic biology. you know, go back to basic biology and totally switch your perspective because, you know, if you're an ethical vegan, then be ethical and buy grass-fed, agriculturally beautifully raised animals, you know, and don't go buy, you know, factory farm. Until you find a good resource, then you'll eat good meat. But veganism is just,

[video] 49:18 honestly it's like it's like inflicting yourself like pain in the long run some some people would last 20 years say as vegans and and and fine they might look like healthy and they might say that they're okay but they're not okay it's a lie don't lie to yourself like You're lying to yourself. There's so much information outside now that debunks every single vegan thing that you wanna discuss, you know? Come on, like, let's be smart here. You wanna be smart and you wanna be, you know, take care of your body, just do your research and just don't, it's like self-inflicting pain. And I find that to be very sad. I think I was a very sad person. I looked like a corpse now that I go back to my pictures.

[video] 50:13 Actually, maybe you will upload the pictures or not, but they just, they look, I look bad, you know? And it's been hard, Katis, to accept my body the way it is now, heavier in weight, but definitely not obese, you know? But I was a size zero for so long that now all of those clothes I had to either give away or throw out. And that's, that's pretty bad psychologically, especially with this society that sells Instagrammable bodies all the time, you know, perfect skin, whatever, you know. It's been hard to accept my body the way it is now, but if my body is starting to become healthy and I can find a true path of

[video] 51:01 nourishing my body without inflicting pain and actually healing it from all the damage I did from veganism. Like, vegans, don't waste your time, man. Just don't waste your time. You're wasting your time, you're wasting your money. The stuff that you do is not even vegan. You can't tell me spirulina's vegan. You can't tell me, you know, the supplements that you eat are vegan. Your cashews are not vegan. Because there's, like, slaves picking your cashews. Like... You know, there's so much depth into it that, you know, just, yeah, that's what I would say.

51:38 Why do you think vegans lie to themselves and others when they have health issues and don't tell anybody? Is it a mental issue or even a mental illness in a way?

[video] 51:48 It's all about ego. You know, because when you're vegan and you can post beautiful, colorful pictures or you can become a beautiful YouTuber that, you know, is a size zero and your arms thin, you know, and you go like, ooh, my arm is thin and, you know, look at my abs. And that's exactly what the mainstream promotes. The skinnier you are, the better. Or, well, now, if you're a little bit more overweight, the better, too. It's like there's no middle ground, you know, like these models now that are coming out that are like, Plus sizes now that's beauty too, which is great, you know, but if you're healthy You know if you can prove with a doctor and a blood sample that you're healthy then go ahead but if you're lying to yourself just because You look free on Instagram or you look free on your YouTube channels and you're popular and you don't want to lose that That's pretty egotistical

[video] 52:39 You know, if you have skin problems, if you have you haven't slept, if your teeth are falling apart, you know, if whatever it is that you have, there's something wrong with you. And and the worst part is that you're not loving yourself because you're not listening to your body. You know, you're loving the animals and whatnot. You're actually elevating a pig to the level of a human because that's what it is. Oh, they suffer so much and whatever. Yes, it's wrong, but they're not the same as a human. I'm sorry. And I used to think that, you know, I used to think that, you know, they have the same rights and they have the right to be treated with respect. Yes, they're sentient beings. We love them. I love animals, but they're not the same level as a human. So if you're not treating yourself just as you would treat a pig, then what are you doing? You know, like it's ego.

[video] 53:33 And yeah, a little bit of mental illness, to be honest, because you start losing your mind when you don't have fat for your brain, you know.

53:42 All right. Yeah. Thank you for sharing.

[video] 53:45 Yeah. Thank you for inviting me. And then I'll keep watching your videos and see what else. Because it's so interesting. It's amazing. Thank you. Keep up the good work. Yeah. Come to Canada.

54:00 Yeah, sometime.
