0:00 What's up guys, as requested by some of you, I'm gonna be reviewing a video called No, you don't need raw meat by Edward A. Guckey.

[video] 0:10 It's about time I say this because I've gotten a lot of noise in the comment section surrounding this topic. No, you do not require raw meat for your diet to be a proper human diet.

0:25 It is what we eat in nature, for the most part. There's no animal that cooks their food. If there would be such a thing as a proper human diet, then that would be it, for the most part.

[video] 0:40 I have gotten this comment on more occasions than I can even remotely Huh, I'm surprised. I don't know what this channel is about, I've never seen this guy before. Does he make videos related to diets or what?

[video] 1:01 It is a theory, you could say it's a belief, a religious belief

1:31 It's the same as the Bible. There's never been any proof released related to it. Just nothing whatsoever. I don't mean there's a little bit of proof here and there. I mean zero. Zero. Never. Nothing. Okay? Just to be clear. And that's it. That's all that it is. It's all based on a belief with zero proof. You can believe in it like you can believe in the Bible and so on, but just understand that it's not based on anything whatsoever.

[video] 2:00 nature versus nurture both of them play a role but it's not exclusively one or the other it never is same thing with germ theory and terrain theory they both play a role okay I've even talked about this before when talking about raw meat and the risks associated with that and how they're vastly overblown if you look at the CDC's own statistics regarding this the incidence rates of illness and even subsequent death from those illnesses is roughly the same between the plants that it's linked to and the meat products that it's linked to if you didn't realize this I actually can put this up on the screen in post editing Yes, and the thing is that a lot of times you cannot even neutralize and kill off the toxins by cooking the meat anyway, meaning that if you're eating poisonous meat, animals, then cooking will oftentimes not help.

2:58 Sometimes it will. That's why people can eat really garbage meat today. Without cooking, it would not even be possible. But along with the cooking, you also destroy the nutrients. That's the problem.

[video] 3:10 In order to be extremely objective here, there were technically more deaths that resulted from the illnesses that came from meat products than the plant products. However, it's hard to tell whether or not, it's impossible to tell actually based on these statistics alone, whether or not this was actually due to, you know, the meat being raw or the fact that, well, the meat came from large factories.

3:31 Oh, okay, he understands that. Yeah, exactly. Because it's not as if you eat a natural wild animal that there's poisons inside and that you get poisoned and sick from it. There could be, such as venomous steaks, but I'm talking about deer, wild pigs and so on.

[video] 3:48 And had a greater chain of command and therefore more opportunities to become contaminated or cross-contaminated. Okay, I...

3:55 Yes, but not with bacteria, if that's what you mean. It's because the animals get really bad stuff, which I won't talk about.

[video] 4:05 Which I have a feeling is probably the reason why, which is why I always have said, if you're going to eat your meat raw, source it properly.

4:11 Yeah, exactly. That's what I always also say. Okay. We'll see what else he will say. So far, it doesn't seem like a bad video. Just get your meat from wild animals, ideally. Usually, that's not possible. And then just get the best meat from the best farms.

[video] 4:30 ideally you'd be sourcing it yourself from an animal but i mean not every one of us is a farmer nor necessarily yeah hunter you should say the best meat is if you hunted yourself wants to be or even can be in the first place so anyway that's what i've yeah farming is not really interesting hunting is interesting what's interesting about farming keeping your animals

4:56 locked up and then feeding them, usually garbage, that's what people do. And then you take care of them and butcher them eventually. Sounds boring.

[video] 5:06 But this idea that you must consume your meat raw in order to be consuming a truly species appropriate diet or what approximates the most species appropriate diet from every inference we have is completely erroneous. It's dogmatic.

5:19 What are you talking about? It's literally what we eat in it. What do you mean? I don't get it. How is dogmatic if it's the natural state of the animal and what we mostly eat in nature are animals. So it's literally common sense. You hunt down an animal and you eat it. How can he call that dogmatic exactly?

[video] 5:50 But the reason that you don't need to consume your meat raw is because we have been cooking our meat for at least 900,000 years.

5:57 Oh, yeah, exactly. And how do you know that? The Bible told me. How long? 900,000 years. Proof that humans have even been around for so long? The Bible again. What, you don't believe in Jesus?

6:14 That's their mentality. How do you know anything? You're purely believing... what who think about it are you born as a human being with the knowledge the beliefs that humans have been around for so long however long it may be it doesn't matter what stupid man-made number he makes up or about cooking the meat how long it has been you have no idea at all you simply grew up as a child and that's actually dogmatic if anything and they told you something and you just believe you cannot prove any of that It's completely religious, your beliefs. You cannot prove how long humans have been around. Nobody knows how old the Earth is.

7:00 how long we have been cooking meat, cooking meat essentially started with religions. And even now in Ethiopia, Siberia, people still eat raw meat, meaning that in some places they never got to the cooking. And then in some places they eat raw meat and cooked meat, they mix it and so on. But if you look at 100 years ago, people ate tons of raw animal products, raw milk was consumed everywhere, there was no pasteurization of milk. Just before that, they started some decades before that already, but really when it got popular was in the 50s, 60s, especially after the so-called world wars. That's milk, that's dairy, raw butter, raw cheese, that was around everywhere in Europe. It's the same thing, essentially, pasteurizing, cooking.

7:48 And there's a lot of people that I have met, butchers, people who worked there for ages, who said that people always used to eat, in Germany, they still eat raw pork, by the way, on bread. It's called medbrutchen. But also beef tartare, all the dishes, carpaccio, raw meat was very widespread and still is kind of sushi, sashimi. It's nothing new, it's nothing strange. Most people on Earth eat raw meat, by the way. They just call it something else. When they eat steak tartare and sashimi, sushi, they just call it that. They don't say, I'm about to go and eat raw meat. In reality, most people on Earth still eat raw meat. They just also eat cooked foods. My point is simply that I don't think that he understands how widespread it actually is and how really religions pushed people to cook the meat and to stay away from the blood.

8:48 It was all very, very common up until recently.

[video] 8:51 Okay, we have. And then it's plenty of time to have adapted.

8:57 Yeah, but there's no proof for it. That's the problem. It doesn't matter what you believe. Prove it. You cannot prove it. So it stays an empty belief.

[video] 9:05 to the changes that happen in meat whenever you cook it over fire. Okay? I mean, it's just the truth.

9:11 Also, just think about it logically. There's people in Ethiopia, Siberia, as I said, Japan, many places. There's lots of places on earth where they still eat raw meat. Why did the cooking never get to them? Think about it just logically. It's common sense. That would mean that the cooking of meat didn't start 900,000 years ago, otherwise everybody would be cooking on Earth. Why do people in some places still not cook their food? And as I said, in some places they cook and also eat raw food, but then they should be eating cooked food everywhere, especially because it's good for you, because they understood it, and because culturally it was just widespread. Then nobody would be eating raw meat. Why are raw meat dishes still widespread? Why did we still eat raw dairy 100 years ago everywhere on Earth?

10:05 Why was steak tartare, raw ground beef with a raw egg, a normal dish in Germany 100 years ago? Everybody grew up eating it. Why? If we started cooking meat 900,000 years ago, this stupid number that you just made up with zero proof, it makes no sense.

[video] 10:25 Now, a lot of people will say, well, there are toxins in meat. I mean, there's AGEs in meat. There's advanced glycation end products in meat when you cook it. Yes, but if the amount of AGEs in the meat is the same amount that we would have encountered and consumed over the course of 900,000 years,

10:38 Yeah, exactly. But what if he didn't? He doesn't even question his own beliefs. Think about it. What if it wasn't as widespread as you think? And what if he didn't start that long ago? Why is there footage from documentaries in Thailand where people still eat raw fish, worms, all kinds of meat. They ate the worms because of famines during the world wars. My point is simply that they are accustomed to eating raw meat. It's natural for you, but what I mean is that it's just normal in the culture. The culture is man-made, it's a belief. It's just normal for the population. Why then? Come on, man. In Africa also, everywhere.

[video] 11:24 Yeah, and if he didn't start back then, maybe it's actually really bad for you.

[video] 11:37 necessarily have to consume those once again we have an acidic enough stomach to hedge against the possibility of developing you know illness from potentially contaminated raw meat okay raw meat go ahead and eat it and that's the thing i wouldn't have had a problem i would have had i wouldn't have even had to address this at all in the way that i'm addressing it in this video if the people that decided to eat a primal sort of lifestyle raw meat sort of lifestyle would have been more Respectful in the comment section about it. Hey you cook your meat fine.

12:05 I don't it's good that They are not respectful. Is it my subscribers? I assume so Who else? great good guys Good job Go on like that because being respectful towards somebody who promotes an unhealthy diet I don't know what exactly he promotes, but he doesn't promote eating raw meat would make no sense You can only respect somebody who Does something that you believe in, you agree with, if you learn something from somebody, if you find them beautiful and so on. There must be something. Why would you just respect somebody? You have to be disrespectful then. That's natural. That's normal.

12:54 That's good because people who eat a plant-based diet, some fake stupid diets, they eat a diet that's fake and that's why they are fake themselves and that's why they will respectfully comment, oh, you don't agree with raw meat? That's okay. Everybody can eat whatever they want to. Whatever suits you. Respectfully. That would be horrible. I would just be disgusted by my subscribers. Fuck.

[video] 13:23 Yeah, and it's not dogma to say we've been cooking meat for 900,000 years. What the fuck.

[video] 13:40 I'm designed to be an attack on any of my viewers that are primal. That's why I said what I said in the beginning. If you're primal, cool. In fact, in a way, I sort of envy you. I wish that I could be a lot more comfortable embarking upon that experience than I am right now. And eventually, maybe I will. I like to experiment. It's cool. Great. I've never had raw meat in my entire life.

13:57 What? Really? You've never had sushi? Most people on Earth have had it. This may be a case of somebody who doesn't even understand what he's eating. That's oftentimes the case. Because somebody may say, I've never had raw meat, raw meat is disgusting, blah, blah. And then they go and eat sushi the next day. That happens often. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case here.

[video] 14:20 It's fine, it's fine. Do not think that I am trying to say that, you know, you're an idiot, blah, blah, blah. Okay, I'm not. In my book, I actually talk about it. I said, what about raw meat? You know, what about raw meat? And I said, in the first sentences, this one cracks me up. It's not because I actually look down upon that decision. It's more so to do with the fact that the people that are saying it the most, at least in my comment section, and at least, you know, the loud ones on the internet, are saying it in a way that's sanctimonious, in a way that's like, I'm superior to you because, well, you think that you're doing the right thing.

14:47 I get what he's saying and I could partly agree with that except that we are actually right really it is like that and I get it because a vegan could say the same and they do usually I get how it sounds like, but you've got to understand that you've never tried it. And you could say the same about veganism. The thing is that if you would try veganism, you would stop within days because it feels horrible. So that's it. That disproves it. You could try eating raw meat, which you probably already have unconsciously, and then you would see that it really is the best way to eat. You would really feel the best way. And people who eat raw meat know it. And that's why they act like that. They also have higher testosterone and so on. They are biochemically, hormonally different beings than the kind of slaves you have around you. And that's why they act differently. Yeah, and that's uncommon because you're used to respectful, fake slaves who never express themselves.

15:48 And then you get a glance of these other kind of people. And even though it's only online, which is all a fake garbage way of communicating, you can still sense how different they are.

[video] 15:59 by eating a lot of meat, but you're cooking it all. Bad, bad, bad, bad. Look at me, I eat raw meat, you coward. I mean, that's why I said what I said.

16:07 I don't think that anybody thinks that you're a coward. It's just that it's not as if you're afraid of it. You just destroy the nutrients. You destroy the meat. It's kind of disrespectful towards the meat, the animal. About it. In the way that I said it.

[video] 16:24 But no, you do not need to eat your meat raw. In fact, you can have the best of both worlds by making it medium rare or rare actually, because then you only get a sear on the outside and most of the inside is not cooked, which is actually how I eat my meat.

16:36 Okay, so technically you do eat raw meat and just because it's not fully raw doesn't mean that you don't eat raw meat. If you really sear it on the outside, the middle is raw. So you already disproved what you said before. You have eaten raw meat in your life, you probably eat it daily. I get what he means, but still technically he is eating raw meat.

[video] 16:58 Unless it's ground beef. I cook that well done. Something just doesn't sit right with me about having the raw ground beef, or even slightly cooked, like medium rare. Unless it's on a burger, you know, before I was carnivore, if it was on a burger, I'd want it medium. Human surgeon.

17:09 That really reminds me of the short about the meatballs.

[video] 17:13 Just irrational, aren't they? They're just illogical a lot of times. It's, like, because that just doesn't make any sense, does it? Anyway, I had to clear this up. We all got to treat each other with some more respect, frankly. And it's probably very ironic hearing that from me with all the things that I have said in the past about creators in my personality that I put on.

17:31 yeah you probably realize that it doesn't make any sense you should just express yourself it doesn't matter if you're wrong you should still do it eventually you learn what's right is this guy a card or carnivore on the fake carnivore diet or what i don't i don't know maybe i should check out his channel but i just don't feel like it i'm not interested

[video] 17:58 Anyway, I've been rambling on long enough No, you do not need to eat your meat raw for your diet to be the best approximation to a species-appropriate diet that we can have today in a modern world Sorry, it's not if it were I would be the first to tell you but you haven't even tried eating raw meat Actually you have but you haven't tried eating over 80 90 percent raw meat fruits what we naturally eat how would you know what is this video really about you're not giving any actual points or arguments no it is not so don't worry about cooking your meat in fact even if you want to do well done go ahead because it doesn't seem like there's any nutritional deficiencies that will happen

18:35 Of course, over 50% of the nutrients are destroyed. And around 80%, maybe 90% depending on how much you cook it, of the B vitamins. That's the official numbers. I have a video on it. I will link it in case you haven't seen it. Of course it does, because if you're supposed to get 100% of the nutrients from food and you destroy over 50%, in some cases 80-90%, you're deficient by definition, because natural food has 100%. You're getting 20% of that, for example.

19:12 That's by definition you being deficient. If you would only get 20% of the nutrients from a vegan diet, you would call them deficient. It's the same thing. You get it from cooked meat, it's a deficiency. That's all that a deficiency is by definition. Not getting enough nutrients. That's it. It's just English.

[video] 19:38 even when eating well-done meat, okay?

19:41 Maybe there is, there's not a lot of science on this because- That's true, there isn't, but we don't need that really if we understand that we destroy it, the nutrients. Whatever, call it whatever you want. There's not actual science behind the nutrients anyway, that's a whole topic of its own. You just destroy the food, that's all that you should care about. You can literally see it with your eyes.

[video] 20:06 Not much science has been done on a carnivore diet. So, anyway, but it is my opinion. I mean, you know, that's the beauty of having an opinion. It's my opinion. I can just say that, okay? Not health advice.

20:16 Yes, you just haven't tried it, so your opinion doesn't really matter.

[video] 20:20 Do what you want with what I say. Do what you will with what I say. So, with that being said, join me next time when I'm ranting about something else, having to clear something up. I'm talking about how I'm still in favor of zero carb and I'm not gonna go full Paul Saladino or something, or reacting to sugar.

20:32 Zero carb also? That's also gonna fail. Okay, that will be interesting. This guy's diet will definitely change over the years.

[video] 20:40 Sugar diet nonsense. Now, what the hell is this world? What the hell is going on in this world? Anyway, till then.

20:47 The video was very empty overall, a lot of blabbering. He had three main points. The germ theory, a religious belief with zero proof, that we started cooking meat 900,000 years ago, completely religious, zero proof, and that he has never tried it himself, yet he still doesn't recommend it because it's just not so. It kind of seems like... a little bit of an emotional response which makes sense because he said that people were being disrespectful and because he had nothing to say he simply makes a video because he feels disrespected okay understandable and he says germ theory no proof 900,000 years ago? No proof? I just don't recommend it? No, it's not your optimal diet. Thanks for watching. Actually, he didn't even give us the thanks for watching. He just ended it.

21:44 Yeah, it really was kind of an emotional response more so. He felt disrespected. If you feel disrespected, then debunk it. People comment on your videos that you should be eating raw meat or whatever happened and then Prove it somehow. Don't just come and say, religion, religion. No, it's not so. It's not as if it's going to change anybody's mind, except for people who already believe it, they will simply keep believing it. But it's not going to change the mind of somebody who eats raw meat anyway, because you just gave no reasoning or no arguments at all. You could have looked into any of these topics, but maybe it's scary also to do that. finding out that you were wrong, that you were eating a wrong diet your whole life. Because all diets are man-made.

22:40 There's only what an animal is supposed to eat naturally, and then there's a lot of man-made diets, and we have tons of those today. But to find out that all diets are wrong, and that there's only natural food, and what an animal is naturally supposed to eat, and that you were not doing it your whole life, and that you're making videos promoting the wrong diet, Maybe that's scary to you, finding out that you were wrong, finding out the truth, confronting your beliefs. It seems like it because otherwise you would just look into it, try it and find out that you're wrong. Maybe it's easier to just say, religion, religion. No, it's not good for you. And end the video. That's what it seemed like. Thanks for watching.
