0:00 Hi guys, I'm gonna review what Mark Sisson from the channel Primal Kitchen eats in a day.

[video] 0:06 Hey, I'm Mark Sisson and I'm gonna tell you what I eat in a day.

0:13 Yeah, he doesn't look bad for his age, which I assume is around 70. I don't know.

[video] 0:21 Cool, so I start my day with a cup of coffee and I love a French press.

[video] 0:26 Yeah, totally primal right on. I try to make it as thick as I possibly can and rich.

0:36 So as thick as he possibly can, which means that he wants to make a really thick bean soup full of anti-nutrients and toxins so that he can create stress hormones, which basically means that his diet is not giving him what he needs. Those are the only people who start their day with coffee. Accept it.

[video] 0:57 Quite probably more than you'd normally prescribe for one cup, but that's how I like it. Because of metabolic flexibility, I wake up full of energy. I don't feel the need to eat. I'm not hungry.

1:12 Okay, you wake up full of energy, but you need coffee. Right. And then you live off of your body fat, which I can see. But there's a line that you can cross and I think that you have crossed the line.

[video] 1:27 I don't choose to eat usually until about 12.30, 1 o'clock, 1.30 sometimes. So I just start the day with a cup of coffee.

1:37 That's not sustainable. All that he is doing, as he understands, is just eating himself.

[video] 1:43 You know, I think it's more habit than anything now. I'm not like jonesing for a cup of coffee or jonesing for caffeine.

1:49 Sure, that's what they all say.

[video] 1:51 The taste and the ritual. Yeah, yeah, of course. I'm going to do that cream. I've got some raw cream here and not shy about adding some cream to it.

2:03 That's good, but what's the point of adding raw cream if you put it in something that's boiling hot usually?

[video] 2:09 Put a tiny bit of long fruit sweetener in, because I like that effect too.

2:15 Yeah, of course, because it tastes terrible.

[video] 2:18 The main part of this for me, part of the ritual is I do a crossword puzzle every morning, so I have to have my coffee and do the crossword at the same time.

[video] 2:32 Alright, so my first meal of the day is typically what most people would call lunch. It's breaking the fast. And usually around 12.30.

2:41 I almost confused that for a vegan meal. It's a bit too green. 1 o'clock, maybe 1.30.

[video] 2:48 And it consists of protein and some form of a vegetable usually. And then today...

2:54 Okay, so he's obsessed with keeping his body fat super low. That can't end well long term. Suggesting this to people who are in their 30s, 40s. You're never gonna last until his age. You're gonna be way too skinny. You're gonna have hormonal problems. Just... Don't listen to him. Don't fast, which is just starving. And it does go, of course, against your senses. You can't really get used to that long term. You're always going to be hungry in the morning, which is normal, especially if you do any kind of activities, even if it's drumming, and actually especially drumming if you do a lot of it. But anyway... He has fish for protein, okay, there's maybe some omega-3s, a little bit, probably not, because it looks like farm garbage. I just see some useless salad leaves, which are essentially only full of water, fiber, and probably pesticides, even if it's organic, usually that's the case.

[video] 3:46 Salmon, this is a pretty typical lunch for me, with some greens. It's not a big salad. It's not what I used to call a big-ass salad by any means. It's pretty big. It's mostly about the protein these days.

3:57 I'm going to dress it with some primal... Yeah, but what's the point of the salad and you don't even mention it? Lemon turmeric dressing. Turmeric is pretty toxic, mate. ...kitchen...

[video] 4:09 lemon turmeric dressing, which is my favorite. And again, this is just enough to fill me up, satisfy me, get me fueled up and enough protein to get me through the rest of the day until dinner time. And- How does protein get you through the day, really? 7.30, maybe 7, 7.30, maybe eight o'clock at night. So two meals a day.

[video] 4:33 Obviously this has nothing to do with the primal diet, needless to say.

4:55 But whatever primal kitchen is referring to, I don't see it. Obviously, people back in the day didn't usually eat vegetables on purpose. They would hardly even eat them if they were starving. There's just no point at all. Maybe some kind of fruits, even what we call vegetables nowadays, a lot of them are a sort of a fruit, like peppers, paprika. But asparagus, those sticks, I don't see any point whatsoever. And of course, as the vegans also do it, and most people actually do, obviously, because nobody likes them, they of course look like they have been roasted and something has been added to them, just because they are inedible.

[video] 5:41 I steak that I would consume for dinner. and i'm gonna guess that the total calories here is probably 900 on this plate and if you add that to the salmon and salad i had for lunch which is probably about to be what's the point your digestion would be way better if you would just leave out the vegetables is this to appeal to the mainstream

6:04 Because most people would say, hey, where's the vegetables? You're only eating salmon? Just take two pieces of salmon or more ribeye. Doesn't make sense.

[video] 6:16 You know, we're at under 2,000 calories for the day, and yet, if you look at the amount of protein that I've consumed, it's a significant amount. It's, you know, well in excess of 100 grams of protein, some healthy fats in the form of avocado, in the form of avocado oil, in the form of some of the saturated fat in the grass-fed ribeye steak.

6:35 To be fair, a lot of the protein is destroyed when you cook the food, so if you look at... The protein and rib eye steak, you get a count of maybe 30%. Depending on how much you cook it, it's hard to see how much you cook the steak.

[video] 6:51 And not a lot of carbs. Carbs are largely in the form of leafy greens, or in this case, the asparagus. So I don't feel compelled to eat a lot of carbs. I would have a glass of wine or two with this evening meal, and that would most likely be a dry farm wine selection, which means it's got no sugar, lower in alcohol, lower in tannins.

7:11 He doesn't really explain or dwell into why he drinks the alcohol.

7:20 It's obviously not a good sign. Something must be wrong in your life if you want to drink alcohol. It tastes disgusting. It is literally a toxin. The only explanation is that you're depressed in some way. And just like all the vegans, he also doesn't explain why he eats all of the vegetables. Of course he can't go and say, oh yeah, I eat the ribeye and the fish for the protein and the vegetables I eat for do-do-do. He can't say anything because there is no reason.

[video] 7:46 And you're able to identify what is true hunger and what are cravings and sort of learned behaviors or comfort behaviors. You can really settle into a very tasty and effective...

7:58 The stuff looked quite burnt, carcinogenic.

[video] 8:02 When I'm home, I love to use... Primal kitchen steak sauce on my steaks.

8:08 It's... Yeah, of course, there's a code also. Yeah, all right. Obviously, primal kitchen is just a stupid word for marketing. And a primal sauce, come on. Agnes Wonderplants would be turning in his grave right now if he knew that they are using the word primal. because as far as I'm concerned, he more or less started it. For them to use the word Primal in their YouTube name is sort of disrespectful towards what he was promoting.

[video] 8:43 One of the reasons I developed it in the first place just adds that extra little bit of flavor to any piece of meat.

8:50 Alright, that's it. Don't get me wrong, what he eats is way better than what most people, especially his age, nowadays eat. A lot of them are in care homes already, and all that they get are some bread with marmalade or whatnot. Basically just 80% carbs, as they would want you to eat, of course, because then your brain doesn't work at all, you get more and more demented, and so on, as we can see with the... politician who's in his late 70s and of course Mark will probably not end up that way because he doesn't eat enough fat there's some fat in the ribeye I hope that he sometimes eats more fat or binges on it even if it's off-camera because he is quite low body fat as I said and It is of course not sustainable and it's not gonna work long term, also for your brain. The bottom line is that he obviously doesn't eat the way our ancestors did.

9:48 I hope that it's needless to say, especially with the cooking already, animals in nature, and humans are also animals, eat their food raw. That's just how it's always been. It's a very modern idea to cook your food because of all the pseudo-scientific ideas that you can get more nutrients out of it, blah blah blah, which I have all debunked in my videos. You obviously get way less nutrients, it's way harder to digest the food, and so on. I don't know if Mark simply fell for that, or... if it's simply easier to market this diet. And again, it would be great if most people ate somewhat like this compared to how most people eat nowadays, but it's very far from actually eating a healthy natural diet, an actual so-called primal diet, which would be based on raw meat, mostly organs, and a lot of raw fat.

10:48 Even if it's raw dairy, there would still be better than any of the avocados, which he kind of promotes in this video. It's just very accessible to people to eat that way, to kind of get into it, and then they are able to eat like that in front of their so-called friends, if they had any. It also looks like he gets a lot of sunlight, which is of course very healthy. If only he would stop. with the fat phobia, and if you would stop eating all of the vegetables, then it would be way better, which are all man-made. It really doesn't make any sense at all to call it primal anything when you're eating so much man-made food. All right. Thanks for watching.
