Noah Anderson: The Chronic Stress Life of a Triathlete @Noah Anderson
Watch on YouTube · 2026-04-03 · 28 min
[video] 0:00 hi i'm going to be reviewing a video by noah anderson it's called full day of eating as an ironman triathlete this is a full day of eating as an ironman triathlete for breakfast today we're gonna do mandarins eggs and a bagel probably some strawberries as well i'm gonna drink some orange juice too A lot of carbs. Go with six eggs today is about what I typically will do. Over 100 for today is 20 mandarins. Lock it in. Each egg is...
0:33 I also eat mandarins pretty often.
[video] 0:35 Six grams of protein. So that'll be 36 grams of protein just from the eggs. I always try to...
0:42 He's lost in the concept of protein.
[video] 0:46 he's counting meaningless symbols start my day with a good amount of protein just so that my first workout is fueled sometimes it is hard to get down that much food in the morning but i think as you do it more often your body gets more used to it you'll see today that i am going to eat kind of a crazy amount of food i think triathlon training may just be coped so that i'm able to eat more food i'm gonna swim this morning you're exhausted you have a stressful lifestyle because you were brainwashed
1:15 to be an Ironman triathlete. And that's why you need more energy, fuel. It's not because you actually want to eat food all day long. Your body simply requires it. And the more you eat, the more you exhaust yourself, the shorter your lifespan will be. As it is with People who do triathlons, very short lifespans.
[video] 1:45 And then we have a doctor's appointment for my shin. It's been hurting a lot more than what shin splints typically feel like. I feel like it's good gut training too to eat a huge breakfast and then do the first workout. During a triathlon, especially an Ironman triathlon, you have to consume a lot of calories while you're going throughout the day. And if you can just eat a bunch of food right in the morning and then go work out, I feel like that starts to train your gut a little bit better to get used to, hey, I'm going to have a big meal and I have to quickly digest it. And then I'm going to jump into a workout.
2:12 A little bit of butter on my back. You wouldn't need to try to adjust your body to this unnatural food if you would be eating natural food because then you would have no digestive issues and your body would absorb all of the energy from the food, which is the goal here. If you would be eating raw animal foods, which is what humans eat in nature, then you would digest them perfectly and you wouldn't need as much food. If you... want to do triathlons for whatever reason, it makes no sense, then you would be way better at them if you would be eating naturally. You would be generally better at anything in your life if you would be eating naturally.
[video] 2:59 My breakfast is pretty much always the same, but I really like it and enjoy it. And I think like,
3:05 Finding something that is... His breakfast is not that bad compared to what most people eat. Really, the worst part are the bagels. Mandarins are fine, eggs are good. Ideally, raw, healthy eggs, but maybe those are bad quality eggs. Raw eggs would be a lot easier to digest, obviously, than cooked eggs.
[video] 3:29 This hits the macros that you need, hits the carbs, the protein, whatever you're looking for. is a good way to go about it, because then you can just be consistent with what you're eating. Today, six hikes, cheese, three cheeky man bins, and a bagel. And one glass of orange juice. Look, there's a cardinal. This is a massive breakfast and four strawberries. Like ideally before the Ironman, like I want to have the same breakfast and then I just have an extra hour and a half to digest it. I think just like staying used to eating a bunch of food and then ideally having a little bit more time, but then working out, I think sets me up better to actually have my gut be okay with eating a bunch of food and then working out.
4:08 That's the problem. So many people experience this problem nowadays. And when you eat naturally, zero problems with your digestion.
[video] 4:18 gram of electrolytes thousand milligrams of sodium and then i'm gonna have this during and after my swim electrolytes probably just salt with some flavorings it's literally 70 degrees two days ago now i gotta and maybe some uh toxic laboratory made minerals also
[video] 4:50 I'm assuming they'll do an x-ray, which from what I hear, typically you aren't really able to see a stretch fracture unless it's like really bad. So depending on how that goes, potentially doing an MRI, which I don't know if my insurance covers or not. If it doesn't, I don't know how inclined I am to do it. But I do want to get to the bottom of it and know what's actually wrong with my shin. But let's rip the cheeky matter just to get locked in. But we'll see. That was a really solid workout. Yeah, my swim fitness has definitely improved. And it's nice to start to see some of the...
5:17 It's interesting how all of these guys always have some kind of injuries, even if it's some minor injuries. And it's as if they don't understand that it's the stressful lifestyle that is causing it. They somehow... try to believe that it must be something else. It cannot be all the pressure that I put on my shins, knees, back, whatever it may be. It must be something else. And even if it may be the exercise, then there must be a fix.
[video] 5:57 Swim today on WHOOP. My strain was 17.1. What I like about WHOOP is that they'll give you like... a breakdown of your workout. I guess I hit a max heart rate of 202, which is really high for swimming. It says 937 calories.
6:13 That's how you can know that you're doing something wrong.
[video] 6:16 Max heart rate 202. Community with my little brother and his buddies. Oh, one of them might be ahead of me right now for strength. No, never mind. I'm always in first for strength. It's funny too, because I'm always like, hey guys, lock in on your recovery. My sleep wasn't good last night though. Only 67%. But yeah, I'm officially partnering with Whoop now. If you want to try it out, you can get a month for free. If you use, I forget what it's called, but the link's going to be in the description. I really like it though. It's really nice to get all those insights, especially the sleep and recovery data has been really useful to me, especially during the 75 part challenge when I was kind of overdoing it a little bit. On today, my recovery is 37, 73%. It's not too bad. It's fun to like get new max strain scores.
6:53 This guy's only 23 years old. At least that's what it says online. There's not any youth left in his skin anymore. At 23, you should still look pretty youthful. I wonder how guys like him actually get pulled into triathlons. It must be because of all the online influencers.
[video] 7:19 And I've been pretty consistently hitting like between 15 and 20.
7:24 It's typically like that. It's the same with bodybuilding. Some guys who cannot stand their bodies go to the gym, especially the ones that use drugs. Then some other ones see them doing it. They want to look bigger. And then they influence other people and so on. It just goes on and on.
[video] 7:47 So basically they didn't see anything like terrible on the x-ray. So I have an MRI scheduled. The earliest appointment I could schedule was March 27th, which in theory I would be in Texas. Hopefully a different appointment opens up so that I'd be able to see a doctor. Today, my leg feels better. I kind of want to play it by ear and be like, if it feels good enough, just send it. But also maybe that's not smart. I don't know. We're going to play it by ear. I'd love to still race Texas, but I don't want to injure myself further and thus decreasing my chances of qualifying in general. I'm going to grab some food, rip some more mandarins. I don't know, hopefully it just heals and hopefully it's fine.
8:14 I gotta trust that God has a plan and trust that... And again, zero thoughts about stopping doing all of this. No, I just hope it heals. Hopefully I can continue. Why? Why would you? You don't want to. You hate doing it. You hate swimming and everything else. We'll see what else he will do.
[video] 8:39 It will work out. Let's get a cheeky Mandarin going. Just to ease my mind here. If my biggest problem right now is being worried if I'm injured too much or not to run my Ironman triathlon, what am I worrying about? You know what I mean? It just can't be that serious. Okay. Cheeky Mandarin.
[video] 8:58 Lunch review. Chipotle chicken avocado melt. If you ever go to Panera Bread, unsponsored by the way, this sandwich.
[video] 9:05 Literally nothing beats it. A baguette, some extra carbs, two cheeky mandarins, some more extra carbs.
9:12 The state of humans today. He eats some grain sludge with avocado in the middle or... Something else, who knows, probably some sauces, maybe some cheese, who cares? The point is simply that he's holding this slime in his hand and he talks about it as if it's the best food on earth, when in reality, it's not even food. By definition, you cannot survive by eating that. It doesn't actually sustain your life.
9:49 It's just insane. raw liver blood those are real foods you can actually live by eating that you cannot do that by eating this slime it's just crazy man and you can see all the acne everywhere because of what he eats and that diet pepsi people ask me how i peel them so quickly it's a lot of practice i think i'm gonna do
[video] 10:21 Two hours and 15 minutes on the bike today. I think 210 watts the whole ride. A chiller bike ride. It'll probably give my heart rate up a little bit, but I'm trying to get better at training my gut for the actual race. So what I'm going to try to do on race day is consume about 125 grams of carbs per hour. So on days like today, I try to get close to that is the goal. And then a gram of salt per hour. I think I'm going to do two and a half grams for this of salt.
10:44 A gram of salt per hour for how many hours? That's interesting. Seeing as around 35 grams could be lethal for his body mass. Hmm.
[video] 11:02 Carb powder. There's 25 grams of carbs in each scoop. So it's 25, 50 grams of carbs. Oh, we're spilling. 75 grams of carbs.
11:12 And he's putting these powders into the... bottles imagining that there's carbs inside of there. It's the same with the protein at the beginning of the video. He's just imagining what's inside of there instead of looking at the reality of what he's doing. He's putting some powder made in a laboratory inside of the bottles, but he just doesn't live in this reality clearly because he's constantly going against his intuition.
[video] 11:48 grams of carbs 125 150 175 200 800 calories of dust but it is necessary to fuel of dust he even says it himself pop that special concoction off up with do half gram of salt another half gram cheeky electrolytes and we'll do
[video] 12:16 Fill this up, get some water and we're going to throw two grams of salt in there. So that's three grams total. It's a little over a gram.
12:27 Salt is in a way similar to coffee. It's very toxic and it stimulates your body. You feel very stressed when you consume it. And that's why It may be better for runners. Running is bad in general, obviously, but because you will feel so stressed and alert, maybe it's better. And I put it in quotes because it's super bad in general, but you understand what I mean.
[video] 13:00 Two Tiki Mandarins just for the love of the game. 800 calories of dark powder. Blue raspberry flavor is the best transparent light flavor also. You want to try it? We got three grams of salt, 200 grams of carbs, and two cheeky mandarins, which I think is another 10-ish grams of carbs each. Let's go bike for two hours and 15 minutes. Definitely increasing the bike mileage a little bit. Not being able to run. Last week I did close to 200 miles. This week I'll probably go over 200, just to make sure that I am still prioritizing my cardio shape. Let's go to the pain cave. I got my nutrition station over here.
13:29 Let's go to the pain cave. Oh, man.
[video] 13:33 There's not much organization for this. I'll probably also do a... These are another 25 grams of carbs each, so 50, 60, 70-ish, 200. 270 or so for two hours and 15 minutes.
13:45 He's actually so delusional that he believes that he can count the carbs. It's all imaginary. It's all in your head.
[video] 13:54 This is where I'll be for the next two hours and 15 minutes. Usually in the first hour, I'll drink the first bottle. Second hour, I'll drink the second bottle, and then I'll have one gel.
14:11 Wow, he will be cycling inside of his room this whole time. That is insane. Actually, you have to be kind of insane to cycle on the spot in your room while drinking some powders with salt.
[video] 14:29 and one cheeky mandarin per hour. I don't think I'll actually fuel with mandarins, but in actual races, it takes up a lot of space in the actual biking compartment, and it's not as many carbs. Biking on the trainer is literally so blank, but it's like 35 degrees Fahrenheit today. It might be a little warmer, it might be 40, but it's just too cold. You get so cold when you're going fast. I've spent a lot of time on the indoor trainer, so once I actually get outside, then I went and biked the Ironman Wisconsin bike course on Monday, because it was 70 outside. That was so fun. It was so fun to get outside and actually bike. where you're actually moving through space and time. I mean, this just feels so boring sometimes. It's just like, all right, I'm still in the same place. I'm still in my sister's room. So that turned into my bike video. Indoor trainer has actually been absolutely most boring. Sometimes I'll watch YouTube. If you're looking for something good to watch while training, there's this new Ironman documentary on the KnowAim YouTube channel that you can check out. Part of what is required if you live in a cold area doing Ironman training. The other hard thing is like, to actually consume calories while you're moving is difficult.
[video] 15:26 I mean, it's one thing to eat and then work out, but while actually working out and actively burning calories, it's a lot harder, like even just to, if my heart rate's higher.
15:34 Yes, it's hard because it's incredibly unnatural what you're doing. Does he never think about that? Cycling in general is super unnatural, obviously. There are no roads in nature and there are no bikes, but he's not even outside. That would be something else. He's inside of his sister's room, as he said, biking on the spot, and then he tries to eat. And even all of the food is unnatural. It's no surprise that he looks older, aged, worn out, and that he has the acne, the pus, coming out of his face. His body has been poisoned, obviously. That's what he's consuming, poisons. And you can also see the exhaustion.
16:32 The skin always shows you the state of the human being. You can try to hide it with makeup and whatnot, but at the end of the day, you will look in the mirror and you will see what your lifestyle is doing to you.
[video] 16:49 Chug something. It's hard. Obviously, I'll have a straw on my bike, so I can go. But this, this is harder. Having 100 plus grams of carbs an hour versus not having anything while you're actually biking makes a huge difference in how you feel. Your energy, it sustains so much better.
17:06 you're consuming calories this is actually such a super insane shot because when you watch movies listen to music you're already trying to escape from where you are you don't like what you're doing and that's why you try to imagine a different kind of life But now he's biking on the spot and then he's watching some videos on YouTube trying to imagine being somewhere else. It's just way more insane than what most people are doing. Just look at him. It's way beyond unnatural. This is actual insanity.
[video] 17:50 While working out. Mandarin number one. It's like a little reward.
18:02 It's also interesting that he calls the Mandarin a reward, meaning that he knows that he hates what he's doing. And he already admitted that because he said that he's going to the pain room or whatever.
[video] 18:16 The other thing I've noticed too is like, if I start the ride in a good mindset, I'm doing well. This is a good ride. This is a good workout. It tends to be a good ride and a good workout. Me just saying that, going, oh, this is harder than normal. Like, whether or not that is true, I'm conditioning my mind to think that. I think whenever I find myself thinking in that way, trying to correct it with positive thinking, it really does sort of change, like, how you actually experience the workout with a thing or whatever you're doing. It isn't that bad. I'm used to this. I'm capable of this. I'm in really good shape. I can do this. This is not that bad. I think it changes.
18:47 Oh my God. And again, as I've said in many of my videos, if you need motivation and if you need to talk yourself into doing something especially, then you know that it's bad for you. Obviously, you want to do what is good for you, what is natural for your body. And then you don't need to talk yourself into doing it. You don't need to talk yourself into believing that it is somehow good for you, that you're doing good. You just enjoy it. You're out in the sun, you eat natural food, you play with your children, you feel good. You don't need to talk yourself into believing that this is good for me. Yes, playing with my children is good for me. No, you feel it already. And when you do something that's bad for you, that destroys your health, your lifespan, then you need to do this. It's so simple.
19:47 It's absolute common sense.
[video] 19:49 The actual experience and your actual perception of that workout. I'm just gonna say this isn't that bad. That's two hours and 15 minutes. I ran 48 miles or 77 kilometers and...
20:03 You went nowhere. And you're generally going nowhere with your life.
[video] 20:10 That was a little bit harder than I think it should have been, but still felt pretty good. One weird thing is that my sweat seems to be concentrated to the left side of the bike today. Let me know if this means I'm doing something wrong, but like there's a ton of sweat.
20:24 Wow, when you see so much sweat, then again, you know that you did something that's extremely unhealthy.
[video] 20:33 And then over here, there's a little bit of sweat, but like fair warning, this might be kind of gross.
[video] 20:40 Oh, indoor training is so gross, man. We're almost done with it though. And then, um, anything else that I can try to help with? No, that's great. Um, if I could, if I could get an appointment on the 20th, that'd be awesome. So thank you so much. You're welcome. You have a great rest of your day. You too. Bye. MRI is next Monday and then the appointment is on the 20th and then I can get some more info on if this race on the 29th is doable or not. I think we're also doing a bike fit on the 20th. So yeah, let's go. Maybe it's going to be okay. Maybe I can start race taxes. That'd be so fire.
[video] 21:13 I like having little snacks as rewards for doing something. It's not a great way to get yourself to do something, but I'm like, okay, I have six emails I need to respond to. Once I get those done, I'm going to eat this protein bar. I find that sometimes really hard to be...
21:27 It's such a sad life. Never really doing what you want to do. Always rewarding yourself with unnatural garbage slime. full of sugar or who knows what, which is the only reason that you eat that slime. Think about it. What kind of a life is that? When you do what you want to do, do you feel the need for a reward? You may be rewarded naturally when you hunt, for example, but you understand what I mean. You don't need motivation or a reward because what you're doing is already good for you. You like it. Do you ever feel the need for a reward when you're out in the sun, in nature, with a blue sky?
22:23 As I said before, with your family outside, do you then feel that? No, because you didn't feel the need for some motivational speech before that. And that's why also afterwards, you don't feel the need for some reward because what you're doing is already rewarding.
[video] 22:46 productive right after doing really tough workouts. But I found that if I just immediately jump into something and kind of do it in little chunks, like knock out a tiny thing and then knock out another tiny thing, I can get to something that I've been procrastinating. Like this video I'm editing right now. All right, let me rip a cheeky Mandarin just to get locked in.
[video] 23:07 Honestly, not sure what the Mandarin concept for today, but let's rip another cheeky Mandarin just to get locked in. Mm-hmm.
23:16 acne is really bad and acne is very abnormal obviously no human in nature has acne it's actually pus that comes out of the pores of the skin meaning that there's toxins inside of your body which come out of the pores um they said as long as i continue to not have any pain with the biking or swimming
[video] 23:42 Feel free to continue to do that. Would hate to lose some of that fitness, but my coach says I probably won't lose.
23:48 Would hate to lose some of that fitness. It's interesting that he says that because you can lose it. Your fitness is something that you adapt your body to.
24:06 It's not your natural state. And that's why when you stop biking, swimming and whatever, you will not be able to do it as good anymore. You won't be able to bike for two hours, for example. Your body will simply go back to its natural state. And then the question is, why does your body... Go back to the state. Why can you not naturally bike for two hours? Why can I not go on a bike now and bike for two hours? Why will I be exhausted way before that? But the people like this never ask themselves this question.
[video] 24:51 I'm not going to forget how to run. I'll probably bike 200 miles this week, maybe 2 for 15. I'll probably swim 10,000 yards. Chicken and rice is a goaded Anderson meal. That's a lot of chicken. I hope you're hungry, Cam. It'll be a W shot trust. I need a shallot white wine reduction. This is an Anderson family classic.
[video] 25:10 Oh, Christian also. Oh, man.
25:39 Wow. It's so bad. Is there salt with full of sodium in it?
[video] 25:46 We don't have a small amount of sodium. This is helping number two have dinner. This is the only way I'm able to keep on my muscle mass. You just gotta stuff more food in. When you think you're full, you're not actually full. Ironman training and trying to maintain current muscle mass and physique has been the hardest by far.
26:07 trying to maintain. Again, it's never about being natural, being at your natural body weight, having a natural physique. It's all about trying to maintain a non-natural physique. And that's why you do all of this over and over again. You do it, you feel a lot of pain, your body tries to adapt to it, you recover, your body tries to go back to its natural state, and you do it again.
[video] 26:42 Clean plate club.
26:43 That's how you do it, folks.
[video] 26:46 I've been on the perpetual bulk for the last five years. Ending the night with some editing. I've got two more cheeky mandarins and one protein bar.
26:55 I have to say really unhealthy skin. And I say that because it's really important to understand what's going on here. He has a very unhealthy body. This is all very, very bad.
[video] 27:11 And that's going to wrap up a day in my life of eating. Let me know in the comments below what you want to see next.
27:21 It didn't start off that bad. The bagels were the worst part, but it turns out that he just eats slime all day long.
27:34 A very unhealthy guy. You can tell by his skin alone. He constantly tries to motivate himself to do something that he hates, such as the swimming and the biking. Swimming can be all right if you don't go against your intuition. But you can see that he overdid it. The biking was insane. That's why he also needs the rewards afterwards, if you can even call it that, some slime with sugar. It's all because he is going against his nature. His body is constantly telling him to stop.
28:22 Think about it, you live your life while your body, which is you, is telling you to stop doing what you're doing. All the time, every day, your body is signaling you to stop and you keep going. And the question is, why? Thanks for watching.
