Nobody Has a Name

0:00 One of the most common questions asked today is, what is your name? And the answer will be, my name is John. But you should think about what you're saying because when you use the word is, then it should be referring to something real. Of course, languages are vague. English and all of the other languages are being misused in many different ways today. English is the most twisted language out of all of them, but they should still make sense. Using the word is when referring to a name doesn't make any sense at all. You can also not use the word be. This will be your name now. It will never be somebody's name. You will imagine that it is their name and that's why it will always be in your mind. You can also not give somebody a name. I will give my son the name John. That's impossible. How can you give him a name?
0:59 You imagine all of that. You can give him food and he can then have the food because he can see it, touch it, smell it and so on. It's real. Nobody can have a name, yet people today say that they have a name.

Look, there it is, my name. No, it's just symbols. You apply meaning to them because you learned how to read and that's why you believe that it's your name. Reading is just you applying meaning to symbols which have no meaning. And then you say the sounds out loud and you believe that the sounds mean something. They mean nothing, naturally. You imagine all of that.
2:47 And that's why you imagine that you have a name, that you can be a name, that it is your name. Surnames are even more interesting. A few hundred years ago, nobody imagined that they have a surname in most places on earth.
