0:00 Alright guys, the most requested topic I've ever had on my channel. Brian Johnson's biohacking method or whatever you want to call it. There's this guy called Rezu who tried it out. That's the video that I'm going to review.

[video] 0:13 This is Brian Johnson. Last year he spent two million dollars on his body with the goal of living forever. That's more than what LeBron James spends for his training and recovery. My objective is to demonstrate aging escape velocity, to neutralize my aging process. But the real question is, does it all work? In 2021, he reduced his epigenetic age by 5.1 years in seven months, breaking a world record. He achieved...

0:36 I do wonder how they measure that.

[video] 0:38 Again, how do they measure that? I definitely don't believe that. I do believe that it's possible to live to 200 years, contrary to popular opinion, popular slave opinion, which I don't care about.

1:01 And that's because there's many cases of people who live to 150, 160, many, many cases. And there's this Chinese guy who lived to over 200 supposedly. So for sure when people can live to over 150, if you would live in an ideal environment, eat the perfect diet and so on, then you would of course live to close to 200 at least. But this guy, I already know approximately what he does, there's no way that he's gonna get anything close to probably even 100 now.

[video] 1:26 higher diet and protocol blueprint. Naturally, I became curious. Here's all my data. And here's what I'm experimenting with next. And here's where I've made mistakes. And here's what I'm trying to fix it. When I found out that he published everything he does online, I dove deep into researching. A lot of what he does is pretty cool, but I'd say it's pretty impractical if you just want to live a healthier, normal life. But there are a few key things that he's found through all this research. So instead, here are the nine key takeaways from his protocol that you can implement into your life today. And you don't have to spend $2 million a year. Number one, stop self-destructive behavior. So there are probably things that you... That's very good. We'll see what he says. Yes, all of that is bad. It can't bring you joy in life, that would be fake joy, so it means that you're depressed already anyway if you see that as joy.

[video] 2:18 Maybe just having one slice of pizza instead of the whole thing can bring you 80% of the satisfaction. So how he recommends that you do this is that you identify the worst version of yourself.

2:26 There are different versions of ourselves and in these different versions... Let's see, before I started the video, I checked that he's 45 right now. We can assume that this video was filmed one or two years ago. He may have been 43, something like that. He said that he's five years below his age right now, biologically, I suppose. Which would mean that he's 38? Does he look like he's 38? Okay, the video quality isn't very good. He has... Under eye bags which are of course caused by stress and as far as I have seen he exercises a lot Maybe there will be something about that in the video. That's what causes under eye bags in the first place It is stress any kind of stress it can be exercise a stressful job even stuff like coffee energy drinks and whatnot His skin seems to look better compared to most people his age, but then again in some videos It looks pretty bad

3:24 I wouldn't say that he looks really any younger than his age. He doesn't have a beard, which makes him of course appear younger, and he doesn't have a lot of hair loss, which people would have his age most of the time. It's tricky to say. He does a lot of skincare routines. It probably makes his skin look softer and whatnot, but that's only on the outside. It could cover up a lot of the flaws. It's tricky. We would need really high-definition videos and so on.

[video] 3:55 versions, we behave different ways. For example, if you tend to binge eat late at night or drink alcohol, you can set restrictions around that so that you don't have access to junk food. This is also the easiest thing to implement because you typically know what those things are. And so you also know what you have to do to prevent such as just choosing not to buy junk food at the supermarket or not stocking your fridge with alcohol. For me, I found that once it gets past 10 p.m., it's really easy for me to go on like a YouTube binge and stay up late at night. So I got this lockbox that locks my phone up.

4:17 Well, yeah, and that's good. The lockbox, if that's what you really need to control yourself, which is stupid and weak, but whatever. Yeah, you should do that because of course you shouldn't be staring at the blue screen, whatever it is, computer or phone, because that's obviously gonna keep you awake.

[video] 4:33 And that pretty much just forces me to go to bed early. Overall, the best way to stop self-destructive behavior is to prioritize your health, which is the second principle. Once you start to prioritize your health, a lot of self-destructive behavior naturally goes away. Naturally.

[video] 4:48 And I heard someone say this before and really stuck with me, which is that when you're healthy, there's a lot of things that you want to do. But when you're sick, all you want is to be healthy, which is to say that prevention and, for example, slowing the rate of aging is more important than anything else. What you can do is to create daily habits that have been scientifically proven to increase longevity based on what's available to you. Lately, I started to use the sauna every day because the gym that I go to has one. I started to feel that it has a massive effect on how I feel day to day in a positive way. And there's plenty of research to show that using the sauna every day has massive health benefits, including increasing longevity. So you can figure out what those have.

5:15 There's no freaking way that any of that is true. There's absolutely no proof for that. I've never seen any and I've studied the topic of saunas, cold showers, ice baths, anything destructive and extreme, which is exactly what it is about. The reason saunas were even invented is because people who live in Russia, Finland, Sweden and Norway hate their climate so incredibly much and you can't blame them. Winter is horrible. Human beings generally hate the cold and that's why they want the heat in winter. So it's just the way of coping through winter for these losers who live in these absolutely horrible countries. I feel sad for them and it's disgusting in a way, the way they have to live. Sauna is extremely stressful for the body and it is definitely going to age you. All stress ages you, all stress. It doesn't matter what you do and saunas are absolute torture for the body.

[video] 6:05 It's hard for yourself, for example, drinking two liters of water every day or just making sure that you hit 10,000 steps.

6:10 And I was two liters of water. Water is going to dry out your whole body, including your skin. That's pretty stupid to do.

[video] 6:17 Say that you definitely don't have to hit the targets that you set for yourself, but just setting a target will mean that you're more likely to hit a day to day. Prioritizing your health today will pay massive dividends to yourself in 10, 20 years. Another thing that you can do to prioritize your health is to improve your diet 1% at a time. So over the years that Brian Johnson has been following this protocol, he's improved his diet incrementally until he found what he considers to be the most nutritionally complete meal. Just by eating this exact thing every single day, he has perfect biomarkers in every category.

6:41 I personally don't believe- Wait, but I'm pretty sure that he takes a million supplements. Obviously, his meals are in no way nutritionally complete or anything even close to that. So strange. And if you want to eat a good diet, just eat your natural food, of course. then you should just start right away and you would be completely nutritionally covered.

[video] 7:02 That there's one meal that is perfect for every individual, even if the biomarkers say so. I think what you can do here is to tweak your own diet to see where you can make healthier replacements. What I've been trying to do is just to improve my diet by 1% every chance that I get. And these are pretty simple things to do as well, like replacing mashed potatoes with broccoli or like having a

7:19 Mashed potatoes with broccoli. Mashed potatoes then at least have carbohydrates, that's about it though. It is a pretty terrible food, but at least it gives you some kind of macronutrient energy, calories. Broccoli has no macronutrients essentially, incredibly few carbohydrates. What broccoli does have are toxins such as goitrogens, sulforaphane, which literally kill your cells. And that's really funny because the last thing that you want To prevent aging is to kill your own cells.

8:09 Everything that tastes the best is the best for you, as long as the food is natural, of course. We're not talking about man-made processed drugs, essentially.

[video] 8:18 He fills in any other nutritional deficiencies through supplementation, which leads me to the next principle.

8:23 It's pretty difficult... Yeah, so he has nutritional deficiencies because his diet is not good after all.

[video] 8:29 to be nutritionally complete just from eating foods normally. You pretty much have to plan out all your meals to make sure you're hitting all your- It's actually incredibly easy.

8:36 You simply eat the natural food that is intended for human beings and you will have no nutritional problems. What do they not understand? Do other animals need to supplement your micronutrients?

[video] 8:49 This is a list of all the supplements he takes.

8:51 Okay, that's interesting. I'm not gonna go through all of them. That's a little bit too much. B-complex. Okay, when it comes to all of these vitamins and whatever he's going to present, the problem is that it's never been actually studied and it's never been proven that they work. Most of them, pretty much all of them, are synthetic. There's no proof at all that they actually work in the human body. The only kind of Supplements that I would recommend, if any, I don't recommend any, but if you do take any, then it would be just dried organs, for example, in capsules and stuff like that. Actual food supplements with real nutrients. Cacao flaminols, that's funny. Those are, of course, pro-oxidants, but he would probably believe that those are antioxidants, they will fight the free radicals, it's anti-aging, all kinds of nonsense. All of these plants are harmful as far as aging goes. especially the supplements, because you have extracted toxins in a concentrated form. It's horrible. D3, it's probably fake.

9:49 At best, the D3 will be not absorbable. If anything, you should take cod liver oil, for example, but 99% of that stuff is pasteurized, and again, it's not gonna work. Garlic. That is really weird. Garlic is an extreme toxin. It is really deadly. It's an antibiotic. It kills the microbes in your intestines and also your cells at the same time. Ginger root. Also a really harmful toxin. If you take too much of it, you can literally die. Very dangerous. Really weird that he takes it. I don't understand. Somebody probably just talked him into something or he did horrible research on Dr. Michael Greger's site or something.

10:32 Lithium, lysine, just eat raw meat Turmeric again, absolutely toxic, taurine again Yes, it helps with aging but you get that naturally from raw meat and everything else that you need Just drink blood and eat raw organs and you will get everything and I mean everything that you need Blood, liver, brain, you have everything in way higher amounts than any of these supplements and it's actually bioavailable. Then again for dinner he takes garlic, EPA, okay understandable. Again I wonder about the source for all of this stuff. Extra virgin oil, maybe he puts it on his skin, I don't know. A lot of people take a tablespoon a day, it's supposed to be anti-aging because it's supposed to be good for your skin, of course it's nonsense. In reality all you need to do is eat raw animal fat, that is anti-aging. Pea protein, I have no idea what the purpose for that is, probably because he doesn't get enough protein on his garbage diet.

11:29 Dark chocolate, that's again said to be anti-aging, of course there's zero proof for that. And that's only because of the supposed antioxidants, which are, again, actually pro-oxidants for a human body, because those antioxidants are actually there to protect the plants. They are harmful to humans. Wake up, you freaking sheep out there. Rep a mice, and again, it's said to be anti-aging without any proof whatsoever. He just blindly takes this stuff. If this proves anything, then it's that you don't need to be clever to become rich. It is literally a toxin. It is an antibiotic. Oh boy. Testosterone patches. Hmm. Is his diet preventing him from producing enough testosterone naturally? Is it a lack of cholesterol? Maybe. B12, again, another plant-based vegan problem. Oh boy.

[video] 12:21 And immediately upon waking, he takes all of these, including this juice, bromidine, peptides, cinnamon.

12:29 Cinnamon is also toxic. Creatine. Creatine you can easily get from raw meat, not from cooked meat. Cacao for the flavanols. 25 pills.

[video] 12:41 I find to be a little bit wow he's uh really stupid interesting but extreme and some of these even require prescription from the doctor because they're pretty experimental drugs that have been proven in animal studies to increase longevity this is yeah like the rapamycin given typically to diabetics it's been also taken off label for longevity purposes if you don't take any vitamin supplements at all i'd maybe recommend you look into a multivitamin fish oil and vitamin d

13:07 Man, at least research the stuff before taking dangerous drugs. What does it mean it's been proven to somehow prolong your life or be anti-aging or whatever? What does it actually mean? You don't even need to understand biochemistry very well to at least do some kind of research and find out what it actually does in the body. If you take literal toxins such as rapamycin and then believe that it's somehow going to help you with your longevity, then at least do some kind of research. How is it supposed to help? Like, why experiment on yourself? It's very self-destructive behavior, even though at the same time he said that you shouldn't be self-destructive.

[video] 13:45 These are some of the most tested supplements and have been proven to bring a lot of health benefits. But the only problem with supplementation is that oftentimes you don't even know what it is that you should be supplementing with, which leads me to the next principle for increasing health and longevity, which is to take measurements regularly. Oftentimes beyond the things that are obvious that would improve our health, there are things that we can't really see physically, which is the importance of taking measurements. This management expert said that measurement is the key to improvement. You can't manage what you can't measure. A couple months ago I took a blood test to see if I was nutritionally deficient in any foods. And I found it pretty enlightening to see how the foods I eat directly impact my health. Would you say this is healthy? No. But there's also like simpler things.

14:22 It's not necessarily unhealthy, the problem is that the fish was obviously farmed, which is unhealthy, but generally the idea of sushi is very good, because you're eating white rice, which is the best grain out there. It's horrible for you, but as far as grains go, it's good. And you have raw fish, raw meat, but yeah, because it's from farmed fish, the fat is very toxic, the white lines that you saw. But generally the idea of sushi and eating sashimi, all the stuff from Japan is very healthy for you.

[video] 14:55 You can do such as just writing down what your weight is every day. So you can track it, even taking pictures of your body every day to see if you're gaining muscle or fat over a long period of time. I also wear this O-ring to track my sleep and an Apple watch to track my activity and workouts. I think we've lived in a pretty amazing time that we have all these technological tools to improve our health. If you can afford to, I think it's definitely worth investing in these things. I've also seen some people wear continuous glucose monitors to see how their body responds to them eating certain foods. But oftentimes, even though we focus on the big picture of health, we might forget about the daily self-care habits that help us look and feel healthy. And that's taking care of your skin, eyes, teeth, and hearing. With the amount of research that's available today, we pretty much know what are the harmful effects of not taking care of these parts of our body. They're pretty simple things like remembering to put on sunscreen every day, which has been proven to not only reduce your chances of getting skin cancer, but

15:35 That's very false. Actually, the chemicals in these creams go into the skin and cause skin cancer. And that's what's actually been proven. Why does he lie that it's been proven to prevent something? Such lies.

[video] 15:49 Also help you maintain healthy looking skin as you get older. If you're young and in your...

15:53 That's nonsense. The sun is absolutely anti-aging. Yes, of course, you shouldn't eat vegetable oils and a grain-based diet and then go into the sun for two hours if you're Caucasian, for example, and then wonder why your skin is burned, dry, and so on. But a healthy amount of sun, as long as you also eat raw animal fat, is incredibly anti-aging.

[video] 16:15 Moniz, you pretty much should be wearing sunscreen every single day.

16:18 Yeah, I always see this image online and there's always only this one example of this truck driver who supposedly had his window open, maybe, and always drove his truck on that side and that's why supposedly that side of his face aged, but... How would it possibly happen realistically? Either his window was closed, which means that a large part of the UV rays were blocked, and we don't know what that does to the skin. It's never been studied when some of the UV rays are there and some are not. Or... it was open, which means that he got hours and hours of sunlight. If his skin was darker, that would have never happened, because darker skin is used to hours of sunshine, whereas his kind of skin would of course not be, which then means that he burned his skin over and over again. And then, yes, you could of course damage your skin, you can get moles, all kinds of spots,

[video] 17:13 This also ties into having a skincare routine which can help you maintain that healthy look as you...

17:18 This guy himself is absolutely tanned. Let's get older. I recommend Ali Abdaal's video where he... We know the tanned skin is healthy and it is incredibly unhealthy not to go into the sun. It's such common sense, Jesus.

[video] 17:34 Okay, now I understand why he's so pale.

17:40 Okay, he's a ginger, from what it seems like, so that would explain that, but still, you're gonna go into the sun, at least somewhat, and he obviously doesn't because he's afraid of the sun. Hmm, interesting.

[video] 17:53 It's quite extensive and even a little bit invasive at times. It's a little bit unrealistic for a normal person to do. It's also important to take care of your ears, eyes, and teeth. Like, for example, with hearing, I used to play guitar pretty often and we'd go jam out in the studio room. But it tends to get pretty loud in there, and if you're not wearing any earplugs, it could really damage your hearing. And if you lose your hearing, that pretty much doesn't come back. So I started carrying around this little case of earplugs on my keychain wherever I go, and I found it to be extremely helpful. Like, sometimes I'd be at a concert where the music's too loud or at some sort of, like...

18:21 Definitely you should always protect your ears at concerts.

[video] 18:23 Bar, club and just having those earplugs protects my hearing for the long run. With your eyes, I think it's pretty basic, like wearing UV-blocking sunglasses if it's super bright out. And with your teeth, you can build a habit of... That's pretty stupid.

18:37 It has been proven over and over again that people who live in not-so-sunny places or people who work in mines are very prone to getting cataract. And also as far as the drumming and your hearing goes, I recommend watching the movie called Sound of Metal. It's just very good.

[video] 18:52 Flossing or he's an electronic toothbrush Which has been proven to clean your teeth a lot better and Brian's extensive skincare protocol has been proven scientifically to reverse his skin age I'm interested to see what he looks like in a decade But beyond these daily habits one of the most powerful things can do to look and feel amazing is to have good sleep Sleep is the new coffee There's pretty much a direct correlation with how much sleep you get sleep is not the new coffee coffee was new for the sheep because They want you to work yourself to death

19:16 Sleep has always been important. Naturally, humans understand this.

[video] 19:20 And how much willpower you have. You'll make better decisions about your health, be more productive, and also just feel better on a daily basis. Here are five things that he does to ensure... Yeah, be more productive.

19:30 Lift man-made weights in a man-made gym where slaves slowly torture themselves and decrease their lifespan. Awesome.

[video] 19:37 Awesome. Good.

19:58 Basically just imitating a sunset naturally and then you would go to bed Really only needed for people who sit at the computer all of the time and even then you shouldn't wear it for too long because the sunset really only the actual yellow orange light lasts for 10 to 15 minutes maximum

[video] 20:16 Temperature controlled mattress. With this master stopper, you're able to adjust a custom temperature when you go to bed. I find that not only does it help me fall asleep faster, I get into deeper sleep as well. Number four, have the same bedtime daily. So sleeping at the same time daily is also really beneficial because you're essentially setting your body's circadian clock, which will help you fall asleep easier and wake up more refreshed day to day.

20:32 It's interesting, he does look like he's on a testosterone replacement therapy, which is basically what he's on, I suppose, with the patches, because his body fat is pretty low, yet he still has muscle, which doesn't look natural.

[video] 20:47 Number five, don't eat too close to bedtime. So if you eat too close to bedtime, you essentially activate your metabolic system. And if you want to make sure that you don't eat too close to bedtime, you can also practice caloric restriction and fasting, which has been proven to increase longevity. So when they tested this on animals, when they reduced the caloric intake by 50%, the animals lived 50% longer if they weren't nutritionally deficient in anything. If I take...

21:04 If they weren't nutritionally deficient, that's a very strong point that you have to understand because, of course, you can eat some plant-based diet and become really nutritionally deficient if you're going to try to reduce the calories, whereas if you're eating liver, brain, and blood, then you will not have any problems at all, and you will naturally want to eat less. So yes, the less... calories as in macronutrients that you eat, yes, the longer you're going to live, but the only way that you can achieve that naturally is by eating your natural food. You can't do that by eating all the garbage that he eats and taking supplements and so on. Then you're slowly going to starve yourself and it is going to lead to nutritional problems.

[video] 21:44 any organism on the planet Earth, from yeast cells to spiders, insects, rabbits, dogs, and even monkeys now, and I've reduced their caloric intake by 30%. They live 30% longer. In fact, the only organism which has not yet been deliberately tested by scientists are Homo sapiens. All the other species obey this basic rule.

22:06 Fasting is not the way to do this. Fasting means starving. So you, against your own will, starve yourself. And people need to do this if they're eating a plant-based diet and stuff like that. If you're eating man-made diets, all of them. Whereas when you eat your natural food, you are completely satiated because you don't need any supplements, you're getting an abundance of nutrients, and that's why it won't be any problem at all for you to simply eat less overall. As long as you don't exercise or have any other stress, you actually need to eat quite little in a day.

[video] 22:37 To limit the time that you are eating, you'll most likely eat less, and having that fasting window allows your body to go through a process called autophagy.

22:44 Autophagy is horrible for you. It literally just means that you're eating yourself. You are destroying your own body, your own cells.

[video] 22:53 You should at all costs avoid autophagy to help reduce blood pressure, lower your cholesterol, and also reduce inflammation.

23:00 So for Brian Johnson, he aims for lower your cholesterol, which means less hormones. We have always known in biology that the more hormones you have, the healthier you are.

[video] 23:12 for a 24% reduction in calories, which is about 1,900 calories every day. Previously, he was on a one meal a day diet, but then he said that his body fat dropped to 3%, which is like dangerously unhealthy. So he switched back to 16-8, which I've also found to be the most sustainable. And you definitely don't want to take this to an extreme because it might have an impact on your hormones. There's also other benefits to fasting, like increased focus, which can help with your productivity. Personally, I found that it also helped me get a better workout, which leads me to the next.

23:36 Yeah, because you're stressed all of the time because all that you do is think about food. What you need to do is eat naturally and always eat when you want to eat. Always. It doesn't matter if only two hours passed. There is a reason why your body is asking for food, but you only know this when you eat naturally. Yes, if you junk food, your body will be asking for more MSG or who knows what, actual drugs in the food, and that is not your craving for nutrients. That's your craving for drugs.

[video] 24:03 Next principle, which is to exercise for long.

24:06 And this is the freaking stupidest point out of all.

[video] 24:10 You probably already know how important it is to exercise every day, but

24:13 No, you should never exercise in your entire life. Exercise means to exert yourself. Human beings should never do that. Nobody in nature in any way does that. It's incredibly stressful. All stress ages you. And that's exactly why his method is never going to work. You will always age a lot more if you exercise. The longest living people on earth, don't exercise at all. They live a really peaceful life. Basically, humans should more or less live like lions. We should just chill and lay around all day. And that's what really makes humans happy.

[video] 24:45 One of the things I learned looking at his routine is to exercise for longevity. When I first started out lifting, I just wanted to go as heavy as possible and hit...

24:52 It doesn't make any sense. Every study ever done proves that any kind of stress ages you. Any stress. And exercise is really stressful.

[video] 25:01 these personal records. But as I went along further into my fitness journey, which is almost seven years now, I start to prioritize longevity versus just hitting certain numbers or aesthetics. The more people that I talk to that try to increase their maximum lifts every year, the more often I hear stories about them getting injured, getting herniated discs, or just having to take time off. So now when I lift, I try to prioritize having perfect form and really doing pause reps without really increasing the weight at all. This is exactly

25:27 Even when you scientifically don't understand anything like these people in the video, then you could at least logically think, if I do more in life, will I age less? Do more? Age less? How does that make sense in any way at all? How incredibly stupid do you have to be? That way of thinking is literally a sign of brain damage.

[video] 25:50 Workout routine if you want to try it. But at the end of the day, I think it really comes down to this. Exercise every day for around an hour and prior to... Every day for one hour?

25:58 Oh my god. I could understand when they're super brainwashed that they would say... twice a week or something like 30 minutes, one hour every day, you're gonna look so incredibly wrinkly when you hit 30 already.

[video] 26:13 As resistance training, zone two training, and also high interval training. These have improved.

26:18 How is that supposed to help you with aging when you're literally aging yourself by doing that?

26:29 How does it increase health in any way at all? Give an explanation, give some kind of points, give anything. Anybody out there who says that exercise is in any way beneficial for the human body in any way, give some kind of points, give an argument. Why can none of you give anything?

[video] 26:50 Andrew Huberman podcast too, you probably already know about this, but one of the key markers of age is how much muscle mass that you retain as you get older. His fitness scores actually score him in the top 10% of 18 year olds, which is pretty amazing. To what extent you follow these principles is up to you, but just keeping in mind these things and optimizing where you can will have a significant ROI on your health and longevity in the long run.

27:11 The ending was really the most horrible part by far. Of course, the Asian will probably not have as many problems with aging simply because Asians genetically seem to age better because of their ancestry. Of course, that will also eventually change because their diets are getting worse and worse. Overall, I wouldn't say that Brian Johnson looks that incredibly much better than other people his age or that he looks five years younger than he actually is now. He looks like a guy who's in his 40s, maybe 41 rather than 43 or 45 now in the video, but...

27:49 It seems like he wasted his money on all of that, but that's because he doesn't understand that he should simply follow nature and it wouldn't even cost so much. If you have that much money, man, you could be eating the best raw wild-caught organs, wild-caught fish. Oh man, you could do so much. that would be actually beneficial and anti-aging for your body. But like I said, a lot of rich people are pretty stupid and they don't understand anything about nutrition or food, which is why they need all of these coaches, dietitians around them. And of course, they've been trained by big pharma. So they don't understand anything themselves. They don't teach them anything useful. And Brian Johnson is really just a very good example of somebody who has money but is completely ignorant and... Really, at the end of the day, he's ruining his buddy. Thanks for watching.
