0:00 What's up? I'm going to review a video of a guy who supposedly hasn't eaten any food in four years.
[video] 0:06 Breatharians are people who claim to not eat food.
0:10 A rare breed of humans who say- That guy looks super healthy, probably bedridden.
[video] 0:15 They get their energy from other sources, such as ancient breath- there he is drinking something already work techniques being well-versed in wacky wellness and spiritual topics i've heard of breatharians before but i've always been highly skeptical of them are these people for real or are they all a bunch of liars so when my friend jeff told me that he knew a real breatharian named devon aka the black airbender i decided i had to meet him so i headed to miami to spend the day with the black airbender and immersed my
0:44 All of these breatharians, also fruitarians, usually live in tropical, or at least subtropical climates, such as Florida, just because of how cold they always feel.
[video] 0:53 I'm here to get the full experience, so I'm not gonna be eating today. I normally drink coffee, or matcha, or cacao, or something with caffeine, and I have not had any caffeine. We're gonna get down to all the secrets and find out if he's a closet eater. Hi! Good morning! How are you? Did you say infinite risings? oh my god yeah you dress for me you're so sweet i always wear kimonos oh okay he's like reminds me of the infinite waters guy also super fake i did not what's the move what are we doing well show you my rising routine okay then you can go to the park after it's great thank you it smells so good
1:51 I'm not fully liquids yet, which means that she aims to go liquidarian, which I think he is actually doing, which really is just a slow form of starvation, similar to fruitarianism. A bit worse, I would say, but at the end of the day, fruits really only have fiber, sugar and water anyway. And she does look pretty starved. Yeah, she looks bad actually. And that guy, I haven't seen his full body yet, but he does have a sort of typical fruitarian body, which makes sense because that's pretty much what he eats, a high carb diet.
2:29 The appetite goes down when you start eating yourself.
[video] 2:33 That's just intermittent starvation.
2:36 Yeah, the energy that they cultivated, more so the energy that you...
[video] 2:56 gathered throughout your life by actually eating food my process is purely through breath mechanics and breathing some people would say that's unhealthy that's anorexic that's blah blah blah that's obviously something you're probably at criticism for right yeah but when you look at anorexia that's more of a mental thing right when you look at mental diseases anorexia falls under that so and what is it that you're doing if you change your breath you change your mental patterns i truly believe the first level of detox is You have not been eating for a year now four years four years two years I was 80% I would have like one meal a week and then I slowly progressed to fully 100% Fully 100% what he was drinking a lot.
[video] 3:41 I Still don't know if I believe you you probably get that people don't believe you. Mm-hmm. Are you an alien? No, you're like I'm sure I'm not I We'll find out. I kind of want to talk about your space a little. It's just a pyramid thing for a minute because it's very prominent. Before even getting a physical pyramid, I was taught to envision it around me, expanding, contracting. I look at it as a meditative practice using metaphysical objects. Wait, I love this. This is cool. I think I feel different just because I feel like I have a cool hat on. The significance of a pyramid is when you look at the
[video] 4:16 from your facial from your eyebrows and then you go all the way down here to your lip after seeing that like you cannot like unsee it i'm like oh it makes sense it was time for devon to show me some of his favorite breathing exercises he said he starts most mornings with squat breathing i dive deep in the sense of parasympathetic breathing which is pure nasal breathing what I call alchemy buffering. This started eight years ago when I lost everything to a business partner. I was already on a spiritual path, but that pushed me even more. Did you ever think
4:48 Trauma essentially pushed him to go on a spiritual path, super typical with people who go down these self-destructive roads, which is exactly what he's suffering from. He has a mental illness.
[video] 4:59 Devon explains that he got into breatharianism through an ancient Taoist fasting practice called Bigu and trained for months with a mentor called Asifu to learn all of the meditation and breathwork techniques that he says allows him to transcend the body and sustain this lifestyle. Straight up, like, how is that possible? I think about it like this.
[video] 5:21 in the sense of when you breathe more efficiently you would simulate more nutrients either from the air have you done blood work have you done oh yeah i did blood work uh last year and what did it look like they were perfectly fine and you don't look malnourished in any way you're strong you know do you have like peanut butter he doesn't look strong whatsoever in the closet or something that you have sometimes no you really don't so how is it that you're alive Beyond the calories, there's something else to be noted that we live in a world of gases. One of the most proponent gases that we always overlook in terms of the air is nitrogen and carbon. This isn't really carbon because most of our atoms are made up of carbon. So this is why I really focus more on the carbon buildup in the body when it comes to breathing. I'm going to be honest with you, okay? I'm just very skeptical of everything you're saying, because obviously some of these things are just so outside the realm of how we are taught. Yeah, sometimes I have to take a step back and just remind myself, like, hey, not everyone thinks like this. This is a little bit outside the norm.
6:21 He seems very lethargic, which is typical with so-called Brafarians. He talks and also thinks very slowly. His brain is damaged.
[video] 6:30 As skeptical as I was, I really felt like Devon was being honest and genuine with me. It didn't feel like he was lying. But how was this possible? Hopefully, trying out more of his breathing techniques would help me understand. So I want you to just a regular inhale. And then exhale three. My main message is not to make anyone believe or practice breatharianism. My main message is to spread breath consciousness. Because when one themselves experience it, then they themselves can feel that what I'm talking is the truth. With every breath, I'm accepting more love, gratitude, and the power to let go. That's how we feel. That was literally just a couple rounds, and immediately you can notice your entire body and mind change. Exactly. What do you consume? About 99% coconut water. You drink water, right? I barely drink water. I don't drink water, really. What do you mean you don't drink water? Maybe coconut water, urine. There is literally a hundred...
7:24 Coconut water and urine, okay, yeah, it makes more and more sense. Of course he doesn't drink water because you don't need water as such as in the water that we nowadays consume. I've also gone one year without drinking any water whatsoever and there was no problem because all that we really need are liquids that hydrate us. Blood, raw milk, of course, are better than coconut water. But coconut water is actually also a pretty good way to hydrate yourself. And of course he's also getting a lot of sugar from that and who knows how much he actually drinks and then from the urine even though urine is very toxic to the body because of all the actual toxins in the urine there are also some minerals and even vitamins in there which you would excrete if you would have too many of them for example there's a whole process that the kidneys and so on go through and of course then he's also getting
8:13 some nutrients very little but it's something to sustain him a little bit this completely makes sense because he looks like he's starving and he doesn't do anything all day long from what i can understand he's in a typical starvation mode consuming liquid carbohydrates and small amounts of nutrients he does nothing to do with so-called referianism and three minerals in urine this is yours yeah this is about a
[video] 8:44 Is this enjoyable to drink? Uh, the feeling is, yeah. So if I was gonna do a...
8:50 The feeling is because you're starving so much that at that point even urine tastes or feels good to you.
[video] 8:57 Real breatharian day in your life, I would drink my urine. You don't have to, but yeah. Maybe one day, if this video gets enough likes. 10,000 likes! Now! And I'll drink my own pee, alright? So this is the first thing you've had today? Other than urine. right right look at all the coconuts though yet again it was time for even more breathing exercises
[video] 9:36 Like it's definitely like piercing, like you can see, look at this. My relationship to pain is completely changed since I started doing things that are painful, like with intention, like cold therapy or even just like really hard exercise where you're pushing yourself and you're in pain.
9:52 All self-destructive behavior, essentially just a sign of depression.
[video] 9:56 I think there's a lot of value in being in pain, even like emotional pain, like not resisting, but really feeling because we think pain is wrong or bad as humans, but it's a complete part of the human experience. Right.
10:08 Yeah, it's part of it. Possibly it can happen. But is she saying that it's good or what? Pain is bad. Yes, we know that. Naturally, we don't want pain. Come on. That's nature 101. Biology.
10:24 This is... How stupid can you get, man?
[video] 10:32 Although the black airbender remains a mystery to me, and I'm still not 100% sold on the whole breatharian thing, I truly enjoyed stepping into Devon's world for a day. Experiencing the pain from my caffeine withdrawal actually opened my eyes to- Why would he have such low body fat if it would actually work?
10:50 Then you should just be able to sustain what you have and never lose any weight. Why do you always keep slowly losing your weight If you do any kind of fasting as in starving, breatharianism, fruitarianism.
[video] 11:05 How addicted to this legal drug I truly was. I actually decided to quit caffeine. I'm super curious to know what y'all think of breatharians and the black airbender. Do you think this is for real or is all of this just a bunch of BS?
11:21 Alright, there's really not much of a mystery to it. As I said already, but I'll just sum it up, he obviously has lost a lot of weight, he does not look strong whatsoever, he has lost fat and muscle, he is starving, very clearly, and that's because he doesn't eat any actual food which sustains him, but he consumes coconut water, which does have sugar, who knows how much he actually drinks, and as we saw, he consumes urine, he's really not that far off of a fruitarian or even a raw vegan diet those people do survive for a quite long time and if you do nothing all day long and just breathe and sit the bottom line is that there's nothing surprising in this video he is as lethargic as you would expect him to be because he consumes so very few calories from sugar and that's why he does nothing all day long because he can't he has no energy and
12:15 to do anything and this is of course not sustainable it's not going to last thanks for watching
