0:00 Hey guys, I'm gonna be reacting to a reaction of the latest Superman movie trailer.
[video] 0:08 Hey everybody, welcome back. Trailer reaction time and I have a feeling this is gonna be a doozy. I need to give you a little quick history of my love of Superman because you know me for loving Star Wars and crying at Star Wars. Well, I have realized that the John Williams themes to Superman are even more emotionally resonant to me than themes from Star Wars. The music's a big part of what gets me crying.
0:28 Superman was my first friend if you will as a young young young young child, you know stuff Superman was called buddy Yeah, this is exactly what I talk about always my videos if you grow up Like that and
0:45 Especially if you don't have a father or at least loving father, any kind of father figure, somebody to look up to. Then you end up watching cartoons, seeing Superman, Spiderman, Batman and so on, because a child needs to look up to somebody. and that would be the family the father especially the bigger brothers naturally but when you don't have that then you attach yourself to something else and this is what the media provides to the children all of these fake characters and then you get emotionally attached to them as if it's your friends or even your fathers or you can even fall in love with girls online that you only see on the screen. And that's how messed up it is when you don't grow up naturally the way you're supposed to.
[video] 1:45 My buddy, my first movie to drive in was Superman. I got mad at my mom once when we went up in helicopter on this thing and she went up without me and I got mad that she didn't jump out so I could fly up and save her because I was wearing a Superman costume. Christopher Reeve's Superman is very special to me. I even liked the Richard Pryor one. Brandon Routh one was fun.
2:02 Superman was always super boring to me. I saw some cartoons and TV shows as a child, but there was nothing appealing about it to me.
2:16 Whatever. I think that it's because Superman just has all of this power. It's as if he's invincible. There's just nothing interesting about it.
[video] 2:27 I believe a man can fly. So you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to look up. Let's watch.
2:40 You can see the childish, whatever it is, surprise. He's looking forward to it so much.
3:07 It's as if he's seeing his long lost friend again.
3:46 Look, he's completely crying at this point. I haven't seen the trailer, it just looks super boring to me, but I don't like almost any Hollywood movies, especially what they're putting out today. But I don't care about any Spider-Man, Superman or any of them. I kind of liked Spider-Man as a child, but it was for a pretty short period.
4:14 It's just not normal to react like this when you see a movie trailer.
4:48 Yeah, it's just when your life is completely empty, then this brings you a lot of joy. I don't even know what this is, some kind of euphoria, but it's fake, obviously, in the sense that it's caused by something fake. It's when your whole life is completely fake, and this actually provokes a lot of emotions. I, it's really crazy to watch this.
6:07 And then you also have the girls always around these guys and then they can live out the fantasies of these relationships through them. It's just everything. It's as if there's everything there for them. The relationships, the father, they never had everything. Yeah.
[video] 6:33 Ow, my face hurts. Yes! yes it's the music so obviously teaser trailer right proper teaser much more superman than i thought we would get in that the music i mean come on they did the music and then the crypto bit i knew crypto was gonna be in this trailer i didn't know it was gonna be crypto oh this dog's saving come on dude the dog's saving him and lois kissing like they're already in love And Metropolis Daily Planet looks so good. Guy Gardner looks silly, but in a good way. Mr. Terrific looks interesting. He's fighting, Superman's fighting a Kaiju. What's that? I need to see more of that. I want to watch that again. I want to watch that again.
[video] 7:20 That was so beautiful. And Lois looks like a right proper Lois. Like I would fall in love with that woman. She was probably my earliest crush in life, Her and Princess Leia.
7:33 Her and Princess Leia, I don't know who that is. Also from some cartoon, whatever, a fantasy anyway. He said it, he said exactly what I said before, that you can also have a crush on these characters. Because if you don't get something in real life, everything that I mentioned, you try to find it somewhere because a human being is naturally supposed to fall in love and create a family and when you don't have that you attach yourself to characters online or on the TV whatever and oh my god man this is so bad So crazy. Oh, man.
[video] 8:15 Dang you, James Gunn. Dang you. Dang you for being so good. Just, I mean, listen, yes, maybe you're some of the small minority that did love the Guardians trilogy. That's fine. Whatever. If you're just a Gunn hater, get out of here. I don't care. You can say whatever you're going to say. You're just going to be ignored. You're shouting into the void. It's fine if you're not a superfan, but I mean, with the goodwill he's garnered from the Guardians universe into doing this Superman, this right, proper, hopeful Superman.
8:40 And again, I'm not trying to knock... You can also see huge collections of stuff in the back, some kind of whatever DVDs, books, or comic books. I don't know. It's all the same to me anyway. And just a lot of collector items. Yeah, it's exactly what you would expect.
8:58 Wow. It's one of the saddest videos I've seen.
[video] 9:01 Because I loved Henry Cavill. I wish he had got more good stuff to work with. But, you know, he was a broody, dark Superman. And this, like, hopeful. But, I mean, clearly he's going to go through some stuff here. But he's going to be the Boy Scout. The guy that lets it roll off his shoulder, whether it bothers him or not. He's just going to be like, I get it. I understand. But I've got to keep moving forward and doing the best I can and helping everyone I can help. Because I can do that.
[video] 9:24 Just wow.
[video] 9:27 Obviously, I'm seated day one.
[video] 9:31 Jesus, man. Also, fun story. I wore this shirt to dinner. We went to a Japanese restaurant. And the very nice Japanese lady who was serving us, after she came to say hello, she immediately noticed my shirt. And it was so cute. She's like, oh, hi, Superman. I love your shirt. She's like waving at it. And even as we were leaving, she was saying goodbye and thank you. Like, you know what servers do. She also turned to my shirt like it was her own person and waved and said, bye, Superman. I mean, come on. Come on.
[video] 9:59 It's as if he wants to be Superman. I think that the weaker and smaller you feel in real life the more you want to be something extreme, something bigger such as Superman. The lower you are, the higher you want to go.
[video] 10:28 my famous star wars reaction oh god all right well obviously what do you think are you excited does it look good how do you feel i don't care whatsoever i'm not gonna watch it i just i don't care one bit about the way he's doing the music in the teaser poster they did han zimmer does the theme now they're doing top gun maverick does the theme what's next is it eric butts does the theme i said that as a joke and i'm like oh my god i need to do that
[video] 10:56 But seriously, Superman is as huge a deal in my life as Star Wars. He's as hugely formative to me as the original Star Wars trilogy. You know, the daughter films.
11:06 I've seen Star Wars. It was also one of the most boring things I've ever seen.
[video] 11:13 Even Lester version, obviously. That's when I grew up with part two. Yeah. What do y'all think? I don't know. Just comment, okay? I look forward to hearing what you have to say. Vast majority of you anyway. And it's fine if you don't like it. As long as you're polite and be like, well, I don't know about this or that. That's fine. I'm not going to be mad at you for that. I'm not going to be mad at anybody. I'm just saying, like, if you're just going to poo-poo on it and be a, you know, one of those people, it's like, I don't care. You're not going to get a rise out of me. I don't care. You know, I love y'all. All right. I'll see you all. If you look up, I'll see you all later. Bye.
11:41 Yeah. Cool. I just wanted to react to his reaction because of him, obviously. I don't care about Superman whatsoever. I never did, but I just wanted to highlight what happens to boys today when they grow up.
12:02 The way his life obviously went down, there's no need to analyze it really, it's just clear as day. And then you attach yourself to anything that's around you, especially if the media gives you all of these superhero characters.
12:20 Yeah, it's really, really messed up that this is actually going on today. You should get this emotional if your child is born, maybe. And you should cry that much if somebody close to you dies. Not if you see a trailer of some moving pictures of some fantasy character called Superman. Think about it. To me, it provokes nothing. I wasn't even really looking at it. I was just looking at his reaction. And to him, it's everything. It's his life. And that's understandable, because when your life is the way it is, then you attach yourself and look for any other life.
13:10 And that's exactly what we are seeing here. It's obviously not a solution to anything, but yeah, he's living this other life in his own mind. And he's looking forward to the new releases and that's gonna be his whole life. He's gonna look forward to new Supermans, new Star Wars, new stuff to collect, everything to just fill his life. And that's what everybody does.
13:40 A lot of people anyway today, they try to fill their lives with, even if it's only stuff, even if it's just a lot of furniture, little small things here and there, they just go to the store, they collect something. That's what we do when we don't live natural lives. We try to fill them with anything else because there's this emptiness. If you eat raw meat, you hunt, you have a family, you produce children
14:13 except for a few little things here and there, you have everything that you need. It's complete fulfillment. And then you never feel this emptiness as if you need something else. You had a loving family, mother, father, your siblings, everybody around you. When you grew up, you're completely loved and fulfilled. You were well nourished as a child. Everything is the way it's supposed to be. and you couldn't wish for anything else. And when somebody presents you some comic books, for example, as a child about Superman, Spider-Man, then you don't care about it, because you're not looking for this fantasy so-called world. You don't need anything else. But when you don't have all of this, then you really need it, because you need to attach yourself to something. That's natural, but it's just the wrong things in this case.
15:04 and then this attachment can be for life and that's what we saw here a really severe attachment to a fantasy that he's living in and he's gonna live in this fantasy his whole life and as I said if it's not some books and cartoons and comic books whatever kind of garbage then it's just gonna be
15:31 Jewelry that women will buy, some kind of fancy clothes. Some kind of collector items, some kind of stones.
15:43 anything you name it just look at what people buy today all the time and all of it means nothing i basically don't own anything i obviously have my equipment to film the videos i don't even care about it if it would break then it would break i don't have any attachment to it as such It's a tool that I use to survive in this slave system, but I don't care about it as such. It has no meaning to me. It's just some pieces of metal, plastic and some kind of alien technology that I'm using here.
16:24 I'm thankful that I never attached myself to anything like that.
16:30 Imagine watching a trailer of a movie and starting to cry and almost freak out like that. It is really one of the saddest videos I've seen. I wish the guy all of the best. Thanks for watching.
