0:00 Hey guys, I'm going to review a video called I trained 532 hours this year. Here's what I learned by the channel The Unlazy Way.

[video] 0:08 This video is sponsored by Lark. So according to Strava, I trained 532 hours in 2022. And I tried a lot of things. I did running, especially on trails. I tried mountain biking, lots of swimming in the pool. I dabbled in ski mountaineering. I relearned Nordic skiing.

[video] 0:30 I did some ski expedition.

0:32 Did any of that have any points so far? I could understand that you can see quite nice scenery, which is great. But the swimming, for example, why swim for no reason? If you swim, then try to get some shellfish, for example. Why swim in a pool? There's no reason to do that. You shouldn't stress your body for no reason. At least try to achieve something by doing that. Try to get some food.

[video] 0:53 In the Arctic, I continued climbing. I was still cra-

0:57 Climbing rocks for no reason at all just to decrease your lifespan. That's what a slave does.

[video] 1:03 Up at yoga and from time to time I lifted some weight.

1:06 Lifting weights, again, you're in a man-made building lifting man-made metal for no reason, just because somebody taught you to do that. Men who don't have a father figure usually end up doing garbage like this.

[video] 1:17 And as I was going through all that training data, I was also writing down what I learned this year, and then it hit me. I should definitely share those key takeaways with you guys, because these are things that will most certainly improve my and your performance in 2023. So in no particular order, let's give it a go.

1:33 Performance for what though? You didn't actually do anything with any meaning. Nothing that you did actually had a point. So what are you performing for exactly?

[video] 1:45 I think in training, one of the highest priorities, if not the highest priority, is to just not get injured. As long as you're able to train, you can progress. But the minute you get injured, you're actually taking steps backwards. And you can easily erase a year's worth of work by being injured for a month.

2:00 I get what he means by injuries, but technically on a biochemical level, you're always injuring your body by exercising, especially by doing what he's doing, which is extreme exercise.

[video] 2:13 Easily. And then to not get injured, I think it's very important to understand that most injuries are not due to some deficiencies in your muscles or poor running form. They are due to training errors, you know, ramping up volume too fast or starting high speed intervals way too early into the season or just being very infrequent with your training. And it took me a long time to understand that. I've spent so many hours trying to improve my body to take on more volume, even though I should just be more patient with my training and not ramp up the volume so fast. I've now been struggling with a knee injury for the past three months or so. Three months of interrupted training. I've been to three different physios. We went to an ultrasound where they found that there is some fluid, some inflammation, and it's just not going away. I've stopped.

2:55 Every time you exercise, you inflame your body. Inflammation and exercise go hand in hand.

[video] 3:00 Running, stopped cycling, only swimming at the moment. And it's been pretty tough. So...

[video] 3:08 I can tell you, you do not want to get injured. It's not fun.

[video] 3:14 Oh...

3:15 Exercise in general is not fun. You will never see a face expression of joy on anybody's face who's exercising, including this guy, obviously. Look at any of the footage that he's showing. There's no joy whatsoever. He's absolutely torturing his body.

[video] 3:36 What's that?

3:37 Hm?

[video] 3:40 Advertisement. The way I like to think about it is that the basics will get you to 95% and only for the final 5% will you need all those other things. If you want to progress, you cannot do it all. See, I'm one of those people who would do it all. I would like to do all the damn sports if I just could, if I had time and my body could take it.

4:07 All of this is just him and other brainwashed human slaves trying to imitate hunting and possibly exploring, which again just leads to hunting, getting food, which they are usually not even allowed to do in most countries.

[video] 4:21 Progressing in any one sport requires frequency. I would say at least two times a week, maybe better to do it three times a week if you want to see progress in any sport. And so once you go above like three sports, it starts to get really really hard to fit in that many training hours in the week. And even if you can fit all of them in, it's most likely that there are some interference effects between those sports. Like let's say you're doing climbing and swimming. If you do a hard climbing session, your upper body is trashed. Then if you try to do a swimming session, it's not gonna be as good as without the climbing beforehand. So even though I would really like to do all the all the sports, I've come to realize that there is an opportunity cost to every sport you add to your repertoire, your training

4:56 regime but on the other hand if your goal is not to progress to a high level in any sport i think it's probably the most enjoyable way of training to just try a myriad of sports and to but there is no enjoyable way to train as i said again you just have to look at the face expressions of people who train if you train you are training for something and you can only be fit for something so in this case You're riding your bike just to ride your bike next time for the same amount of time or even longer, but there's no point to it. Everything that he's showing is what slaves do nowadays. Slaves do this because they really want to hunt for the most part. None of this has any meaning. There's no point in doing it because you can't achieve anything by doing it. Being able to swim for no reason in a swimming pool doesn't give you any joy, obviously, because you don't achieve anything by doing that. You simply swim, and then you learn how to swim even longer, and that's what you train for.

5:54 You learn how to swim in a swimming pool like a slave.

[video] 5:57 ...gain a base level in many sports. So it's, well, it's just based on your goals. Do you want to be competing at a high level in a sport, or do you just want to enjoy it? If you're trying to make estimates of your physiology based on the VO2 max you're getting from your watch, or you're just looking at your heart rate.

6:18 The VO2 max is essentially just a way to measure how adapted your body is to a certain kind of stress. He's of course doing all kinds of exercise, but essentially just shows you how worn out and adapted your body is to this certain kind of stress.

[video] 6:36 an uphill run. You need to know that there are so many variables that could affect those things that you can't really draw any conclusions from that one piece of data. Three sports you should try in 2023 are mountain biking, climbing and nordic ski touring. I have not done a lot of mountain biking before 2022 but this year I did some very long rides out in the nature and I absolutely fell in love with it because it has all the benefits of trail running. You get to see nature and you have that exercise induced euphoria in the nature. It's so awesome but also it doesn't have

7:02 yes as i said that's the only good part about it and that's why a lot of people like to do it of course you can also just go for a walk but even cycling isn't incredibly stressful if you overdo it and do mountain biking all of the time especially for many hours then of course it's too much stress for the heart that kind of cardio really damages the heart and that's what causes heart attacks the air is a lot better outside of the city and of course you release endorphins After you're done with the torture, it's your buddy thanking you for stopping. He believes that you got out of a very dangerous situation.

[video] 7:38 The high impact that trail running can induce on your body and that can lead to injury. And you get to see more nature with mountain biking than you do with trail running. Climbing, on the other hand, it's just a totally different sport. It's problem-solving, it's a very social sport, because usually you spend like many minutes between climbs just waiting to get rid of the pump, and that time you usually socialize with people. And it's even more fun with friends. And climbing gives you a feeling of achievement almost every time you climb. And the progress is so, so visible. Visible. Visible in climbing. It's amazing. Try it. And then finally, of course, the third sport is a bit more...

8:10 It's interesting that he said that it gives you a feeling of achievement. I guess what he means is that you climb this man-made wall and because you're up there at the end, you actually managed to climb these whatever plastic things, you now feel like you accomplished something. That's actually very, very sad. It actually shows you how much of a slave this guy actually is, that he feels a feeling of achievement by doing absolutely nothing. It's really sad.

[video] 8:39 to access for most people but if you have a chance to do some sort of a Nordic ski touring or in the States you would probably say backcountry skiing trip in a safe environment I would definitely encourage you to do that and I'm not talking about touring mountains I'm talking about mostly skiing on the flats out there in the nature in the midst of winter of course you need a lot of gear for it most of the gear you can rent and for the first time you might want to get a guide to really learn the basics but it is a If you do get all that done and you go out in there, it is the most surreal environment to be in. When we were skiing with Ateli in Kungsleden, I felt just more content, more stress-free than I did throughout 2020.

9:16 Yeah, but walking like this doesn't stress your body. You have beautiful natural scenery around you, you have better air. That's anti-stress, but of course getting to this point is very stressful.

[video] 9:28 Yeah, of course, the light, he's filming himself, it's all for show for the most part

[video] 9:52 Yes, your body adapts to stress, of course.

10:06 That's what hormesis is. It's incredibly unhealthy for the body, but it can adapt to your slave lifestyle. The guy is probably pretty young still, but he already looks very worn out and wrinkly. If he would continue doing this for another 10 years,

[video] 10:21 then he would look so absolutely horrible definitely swim 20 minutes in ice cold water or that you could climb mount everest with the proper training and gear or that you could definitely cycle around the world would you believe me probably not but that's that's how it is your body is extremely adaptable to the stimuli you give it i think it's a very powerful thing to understand because then there basically are no limits for what you can do if you give it time and

10:45 right the biggest problem here though is that you're achieving nothing you're doing nothing except for aging your body you're going to die early because you were brainwashed to do all kinds of sports for no reason it's just i don't know what to say proper training it's like damn

[video] 11:13 Yeah, that's about it from me. Please let me know in the comments what you learned in 2023.

11:19 Okay, what I learned from this is that you probably grew up without a father. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but there was something wrong with your family, which is why you feel like you need to do all of these very incredibly meaningless sports just to have this feeling of fulfillment and as if you have achieved something in your life, even though in reality, unfortunately you're not aware of it you actually achieve nothing at all yes you get better air as i said it's good to be in nature you also get some sunlight that's all healthy maybe you have some nice looks from the mountains but the incredible amount of stress your body especially your heart experiences because you do all of this, is not worth it. It cannot be worth it because you will die very early, you will not see your children grow up, if you will be lucky enough not to become infertile because of all the stress. It's incredibly dangerous and this is the definition of a slave's life.

12:19 Thanks for watching.
