What Your Life Should Look Like @Axen

0:00 Hi, I'm going to be reviewing a video called What Did Ancient Humans Do All Day Before Jobs Existed? The title is funny because jobs don't even exist.
[video] 0:12 You wake up when your body is ready. No alarm, no schedule, no place you need to be. You sit up, stretch, and ask yourself one question. What should I do today? For 99% of human history, this wasn't a hypothetical.
0:23 It's not as if you asked yourself anything. You simply did what you intuitively want to do. That's what all of the so-called wild animals do. Being wild means being self-willed. And a wild animal cannot possibly live among enslaved people, seeing as The wild animal will want order and the enslaved animals will want chaos. And that's what's going on today. And that's why you're afraid to do what you want to do.
[video] 0:59 This was every single morning for roughly 300,000 years. And the answer to that question looked nothing like the life you're living right now. Modern humans spend about 90,000 hours of their lives working. That's roughly one third of your waking existence dedicated to a job. But for the overwhelming majority of human history, jobs didn't exist. There was no employment, no wages, no boss.
1:17 Right, but as I said at the beginning, jobs don't exist. Jobs are imaginary. Money is also imaginary. None of this even matters.
[video] 1:30 No career ladder to climb.
1:31 There is no career ladder. He showed the ladder, but in reality, it's all imaginary, and you know that.
[video] 1:40 What did people actually do all day? Let's start with what we know for certain. In 1963, archaeologist Richard Lee conducted a study that would change how we understand prehistoric life. He tracked the daily activities of the Dobeju, Hwansi people in Botswana, one of the few remaining groups still living in a way that resembles pre-agricultural human life. He found that adults spent about 2.5 days per week
1:58 You could say that it resembles it, but it's not the same. ...weak acquiring food.
[video] 2:05 That's roughly 17 hours. The rest of the time, they did whatever...
2:08 It depends on how strong or weak you are. The weaker you are, the longer you will spend hunting or gathering food, although there's hardly anything that you can really gather. And the stronger you are, the quicker it will all be.
[video] 2:27 It really depends. If you go out with other men, you all hide.
2:51 behind some bushes and a huge animal comes along. It could take 30 minutes. You hunt it down and you have food for the whole week or even longer. There's no way to actually measure this. All right.
[video] 3:09 I love that he mentions this. Not that many people actually include this in their videos.
3:34 The reason your health suffers so much when you eat seeds is because those little seeds are obviously not made for humans. It's not food for us. Imagine picking little seeds from flowers.
3:54 And then actually making some kind of slime out of that, which is what you call bread or pasta and cookies nowadays. And then actually eating that. And even worse than that, you actually imagine that it's food. It's completely insane. And then all of these people wonder why they get sick.
[video] 4:14 They had arthritis in their spines from repetitive labor, and they died younger. Ancient human skeletons? Taller, stronger, healthier teeth, less joint damage.
4:23 All right, I like that he mentions all of this. It really has to be understood that the more naturally you live, the better food you eat, especially... the healthier your body will be, your skin, bones, organs, everything. Exactly. Oftentimes, you wouldn't do anything.
[video] 4:40 Sometimes,
4:52 You would build something, but if you don't move to a different place, you build your shelter, and that's about it. One time.
[video] 5:02 ...found that shouldn't exist if survival was a constant struggle. Art. In 1994, explorers discovered Chauvet Cave in southern France. Inside were paintings created roughly 30,000 years ago. Horses. Lions.
5:16 The problem is that there is no way to actually know, obviously, how old the paintings are. You can believe how old they are. That's why to me none of this is relevant.
[video] 5:31 No, no, no, no, no. Very wrong. Slaves do that nowadays because they imagine something. And it's of course possible that somebody was alone in a cave
5:59 he felt hungry, so he imagined some animals because he wanted to eat them. But realistically, It was simply because he wanted to maybe make the cave a bit nicer or maybe the younger people, the children wanted to do something while it was dark outside. It could be anything like that. But slaves nowadays imagine that they are creating all of these pieces of art when it comes to paintings, music, poetry. But when you actually analyze what they write, sing about, and so on, then you will realize that they imagine what they naturally want to do. That's the big difference. As I said, it could be the case. Maybe somebody was stuck there for whatever reason.
6:59 Some dangerous animals were outside, but they didn't want to go inside because there was fire and they were afraid of the fire. That's all possible, but it's not as if they imagined a natural life. That's what slaves do. Very, very important to realize.
[video] 7:15 Yes, but it's not jewelry in the same sense as we use today. You would find them. Maybe you find them pretty. That's possible, seeing as they are not man-made. And that's why you would put them around your neck or wherever.
7:43 but you wouldn't wear the shells or any kind of stones because you want to fit in or any of this bullshit, which is what people do today. You don't even care about that naturally.
[video] 7:58 Someone walked 40 kilometers round trip just to collect shells, then spent hours carefully drilling holes with stone tools just to look.
8:05 Obviously not. Maybe some people went to the water to fish. And then eventually, maybe after years, they went into the cave and then... That's where you found them. Is that as if they went to the water, collected them, and then went back to have a necklace? That's delusional.
[video] 8:30 Good. In 2008, researchers found a 40,000-year-old flute.
8:34 It's just stupid people nowadays imagining something because they believe that... People naturally think the same way as them.
[video] 8:45 Carved from a vulture bone in Germany. Five finger holes. Perfectly spaced. Whoever made this understood music. They understood pitch. And they spent significant time crafting it. Not for hunting. Not for defense. For music. These aren't isolated finds.
8:58 Yes, but creating sound, so-called music, and even singing is seen everywhere, all over the earth. That's very normal.
9:15 But just to be clear again, you wouldn't imagine something that you naturally want to do. You wouldn't make a song about how you're going to get revenge on your enemies. This is what you would hear if you would listen to a lot of hip-hop nowadays. They imagine what they really want to do. You would never hear that. That's the huge difference.
[video] 9:44 And if you would,
9:50 then they would actually go and do it in the end. They would make the music, sing about it before they go to war. Big, big difference.
[video] 10:00 Elaborate the necessary for survival and items that required hours of focused work with no immediate practical benefit. This is what people did when they weren't securing food. They created, they decorated, they made things beautiful. So let's reconstruct today. You wake up around dawn. The fire from last night is still smoldering. Someone adds wood. You eat leftover meat or fish from yesterday. Maybe some nuts or berries collected the day before. Breakfast is social. People talk.
10:20 There's no way that you would eat natural nuts. It's impossible. All of the nuts that people eat nowadays are cultivated.
[video] 10:28 Plan loosely for the day. Not because they have to, because that's what humans do. Around mid-morning, a small group might leave to hunt or gather.
10:35 But here's the key. Also, he imagines that people used to cook their meat. People didn't even cook meat a few hundred years ago.
[video] 11:05 We track animals at a steady jog for hours until they- Oh my god.
11:10 This is obviously bullshit. This has never been recorded. Nobody has actually ever done that. There's one video on YouTube where a guy walks after an animal and they never actually even show anything, but this idea of persistence, hunting, jogging after an animal is just made up. In reality, people used to lurk. They hid, as I said, in bushes. And very important also, you have to realize that you cannot even jog through a forest. A natural forest is very dense. If you would try to jog through a forest, You would get caught instantly by plants. There would be all kinds of small animals. It's impossible. And you couldn't even run through it because of all of the thick plants and the trees. That's exactly why I always say that people are delusional when they talk about persistence hunting.
12:10 They imagine some kind of field, a man-made field, The desert, where you wouldn't try to hunt anyway, you wouldn't even find any animals. It's all super delusional. In reality, you would mostly wait, and then you would jump out and throw spears, shoot arrows, or use any kind of sharp weapons to attack the prey, the animal that you want to eat. And oftentimes you would also... attack other so-called tribes. You would have wars. This he doesn't even mention. He also hasn't mentioned that we reproduced a lot.
12:58 That's also what we did pretty much every day, seeing as the man had a very strong drive to reproduce and to dominate, meaning that you would be with the women, and there would be tons of you. And if you wouldn't be doing that, then you would be doing some of what he mentioned. Some of it is true. It's not such a bad video. But oftentimes you would also just think about how you're going to attack. Because a man who eats raw meat and drinks blood has a very strong drive to dominate, for lack of a better word. I think that you understand what I mean. And this would be on your mind a lot more. And I think that if you eat raw meat, you understand that. And living in this so-called society, which is imaginary, but you understand what I mean,
13:59 is very hard. The more natural you become, the harder it gets.
[video] 14:04 Overheat and collapse. We're the only species that can do this effectively because we can sweat and regulate our body temperature while running. Most animals can't. So we outlast them.
14:13 No, because if you would try to do that, within five to 10 seconds, the animal would be out of your sight and you would never see it again. That alone debunks this whole stupid idea.
[video] 14:25 Yes, right.
14:27 As if you would run for, or jog, three to six hours. How? You will have a heart attack in the heat without drinking anything? It's so delusional. Nobody would ever do that. If you would actually run after an animal for three to six hours, you would be the worst hunter ever. A really good, strong hunter would hunt down an animal within minutes if you would be really good. This is such bullshit, and besides that, you would only hunt with other people together. What do you think, the 20 of you? would run after a deer? How do you imagine that, idiot?
[video] 15:16 Animal is carried back and butchered. Everyone eats. And by early afternoon, the productive part of the day is essentially over. What happens next is what modern people find hardest to under...
15:25 They always show a fire as if... It's just common sense. There had to be a fire. It's not possible that sometimes it snowed, it rained, it was windy.
[video] 15:36 You would play with your children and you would also teach them how to survive, what to do.
15:57 And of course, he would also teach the older humans, the so-called teenagers, the young adults, how to hunt.
[video] 16:06 The problem with this is that
16:22 It cannot be taken seriously because if a guy from Europe or wherever goes to this continent and then tries to interview or simply look at what the people are doing there, then if you would meet actually truly natural people, then you know what they would do. I don't need to say it. Which is why whoever he observed were not really natural people. But you could say that their lives resemble the lives of somewhat natural people. You can for sure take it somewhat seriously, but you shouldn't look at modern tribes in the Amazon jungle, for example, and Imagine that this is what people always used to do.
[video] 17:11 But that's the thing, none of that exists. He said, in a world without that. Yes, you are talking about a world, not the sexual earth, because on this earth,
17:33 You cannot sense any of that. But you can imagine that people who wear uniforms are policemen. You can imagine that symbols on a paper are a contract. And if you put some symbols on the paper, that you signed a contract. But that's all imaginary.
[video] 17:54 on your relationships if people don't like you they don't have to share food when you're hungry so you invest enormous amounts of time in those bonds not because it's productive because it's how humans stay human then the sun sets and this is when something remarkable happens in 2014 anthropologist polly wiesner analyzed hundreds of hours of conversation recordings from the i think that the biggest problem with this video so far is that the creator doesn't realize that
18:18 There's this actual real life, and then there's the imaginary world. And he believes that nowadays everything changed or evolved, and that's why people live in this imaginary world. But none of it is real, meaning that your actual life, the way you're supposed to live, has never changed. It cannot even change. You are supposed to live exactly the way all of your ancestors lived. But nowadays you imagine that you are not allowed to do that because of some contracts, for example. But none of that exists. That's the problem with this video. He doesn't actually explain what's going on. To be fair, most people don't understand this. I may be the only guy who actually makes videos about this topic. No, no, no.
[video] 19:16 You imagine all of this.
19:35 Obviously, it's not as if he knows any of that, that's clear, but your imagination is outlandish, seeing as you think that people actually used to think about how this earth came about, where they are. Sure, maybe you would get some kind of thoughts about it, but realistically, you would simply live your life. You would live your life to the fullest.
[video] 20:07 Possible things, jokes that made everyone laugh, adventures from far away. Weisner argued that this is where human culture was actually born. Gods, spirits, the past, the future. Things you can only...
20:18 Absolutely nobody in nature, so to speak, believes in gods, spirits, none of the tribes, none of the ancient people, just nobody. think about when your stomach is full and you're... All of this came after religions were introduced into people's minds.
[video] 20:40 ...safe, and people didn't go to sleep and stay asleep the way you do now. Historical records from medieval Europe and sleep studies from the 1990s confirmed that before artificial light, humans slept in two phases. First sleep for about four hours, then a wakeful period of one to two hours in complete darkness, then second sleep for another four hours. So here's what a full day looked like.
20:59 This can also not be proven.
21:03 It doesn't even make sense, but it also doesn't matter.
[video] 21:06 Four to six hours securing food or making tools. About six hours in social interaction, storytelling, grooming, playing. About eight hours sleeping in two separate phases. And the rest, resting.
21:18 I don't believe that you would sleep eight hours. I don't even sleep eight hours. If you would have a really exhausting hunting trip, if you're a bad hunter, then maybe. Then you may also sleep for 10 or 12 hours. But if you're actually healthy and doing well, you would realistically sleep maybe six hours.
[video] 21:44 Sitting. Watching clouds. Doing nothing in particular. Existing without needing to justify your existence through productivity. Then, about 10,000 years ago, something changed. Humans in the Fertile Crescent began planting seeds and domesticating animals. Agriculture. And agriculture...
21:57 Yes, the slaves that were not allowed to eat meat started doing this. The origin of farming is slavery. ...is a trap.
[video] 22:07 Once you start farming, you can feed more people. More people means you need more food.
22:12 Yes, because you didn't want everybody to eat meat because if they would, then they would start rebelling. They would be too strong, self-willed, wild. And that's also why they started calling bread, this grain sludge. I've explained this many times before, but bread actually used to mean meat, animal flesh.
[video] 22:36 More food means more farming. Within a few generations, populations exploded and there was no going back because now there were too many mouths to survive by hunting and gathering. You were locked in and farming required far more.
22:48 It's so delusional to believe that people reproduced more when they ate seeds and plants labor plowing planting weeding harvesting storing defending crops from animals and raiders the skeletal evidence is unambiguous early farmers worked hard if it was food then it would make sense but eating seeds only makes you sick and infertile
[video] 23:15 No, and that's the thing. All of this came because of religions in the first place.
23:37 People were brainwashed to go against their nature. They were told that their nature is evil. And that's why they started inventing everything else that you see around you nowadays. All of this is pretty much useless, worthless. And for the most part, you just imagine your life anyway. And this started with religions. You started believing, as I said, that your nature is wrong and evil, that there is a God out there watching you. And then you started imagining more and more. Before that, people completely lived in this reality, 100%.
[video] 24:19 and eventually jobs, employment, the idea that your time belonged to someone else in exchange for resources.
24:25 By the time we built... Why would you need these buildings, the artificial light, only to keep up slavery, only for you to work at 6 a.m. when it's dark outside? You wouldn't be able to without the artificial lights.
[video] 24:42 ...cities, the original human lifestyle was gone, replaced by schedules, obligations,
24:47 Yes, but that's the thing. It's not gone. It cannot even be. That's why you feel depressed when you're enslaved, living in captivity.
[video] 24:56 The need to work most of your waking hours just to survive in the system we created. Today, you spend 90,000 hours working. Your ancestors spent way less. You sleep in one block and call...
25:06 Yes, but what your ancestors did was what they wanted to do. As a man, you really love to hunt and provide.
[video] 25:17 waking up at 2 a.m. insomnia.
25:19 They slept in two phases and used the middle hour... That would mean that they are sick or that they were sick. It doesn't make any sense. ...for reflection.
[video] 25:28 You spend your life chasing an illusion of greatness, achievements, wealth, and success by... An illusion.
25:34 Exactly. Right. None of it exists. It's an illusion. Your life nowadays as a slave is an illusion.
[video] 25:44 standards society invented. They woke up every morning already free, already enough, and at peace with nothing to prove to anyone. They didn't need to become successful. They were already living the life you're working your entire... That's the thing.
25:56 They were actually successful because when they did something, then they actually achieved something. Whereas the humans of today just imagined something and then they imagined that they achieved something.
[video] 26:11 None of which is real. You make art if you can find time after your job. They made art because they had time, and that's what humans do. We're not a different species, but we live so differently from how humans lived for 99% of our existence that we might as well be. We traded freedom for food security, leisure for population growth.
26:29 But nobody traded it for that. We didn't choose that. Nobody chooses this kind of life. Nobody likes it.
[video] 26:40 Time for productivity. And most of us have no idea what we gave up.
26:43 It seems as if he's trying to say that humans chose that by themselves. No, obviously not. They literally went around, put a sword to your neck and said, we will behead you or you can now believe in our God. You can be religious. That was your choice. Die or become religious. Nobody chose this. And that's how it went on.
[video] 27:11 because we never knew it was there.
27:13 The biggest problem with this video is that it seems as if he's saying that humans used to live their natural lives. They did whatever they wanted to do. They lived in absolute so-called freedom. And being free means doing absolutely whatever you want to do. And then one day they decided to enslave themselves. Does that make any sense? No, there were people who wanted to enslave wild animals, and that's why they created religions. And along with religions came all kinds of other ideas. You're not even really enslaved. Nobody is holding you back physically, but you believe that you are not allowed to do what you want to do.
28:13 That's how religions enslaved people. They, as I said, actually physically put a sword to people's heads and then they told them, choose our God or die. And of course, they chose the god. And then when their children were born, They really started believing that what they are told is true. There's a God out there. He's watching me. My urges, my intuition is evil and wrong. I need to suppress it. I need to do what this book tells me and then I will go to heaven. And this is how people started going against their nature. And that's why it was easy to enslave them. Is it possible to enslave a wild animal, a self-willed animal? You cannot do it.
29:09 Is it possible to enslave an animal that believes that his nature is evil and wrong? Yes, it's very easy. Thanks for watching.
