0:00 Hey, what's up guys? As requested, I'm going to be reviewing a video by Gaz Oakley, formerly known as Avangard Vegan. The video is called My Rather Extreme Way of Eating, Exercising and Living for Happiness in it.

0:24 He does seem happy.

[video] 0:34 He's showing the UK, which is, I think, where he lives, as if it's some kind of paradise almost, even though this is

0:57 Maybe like that for two months in the year. The rest is gray and raining.

[video] 1:02 ...work to do, I can just live my best life. So you're gonna share that with me today. It all starts really with a wander in the garden when I've just woken up. It's grabbing a cucumber straight off the plant, maybe some tomatoes, munching them. Tomatoes and cucumbers in it, lovely.

1:22 Of course, they are not actually found like that in nature. They are much smaller. But he's trying to portray it as if he's living this natural kind of life. At least he lives close to so-called nature. If you can call it nature in the UK, there's really mostly just farmland.

[video] 1:45 And that's the beauty of growing food for me. It's being able to reap the benefits of all that hard work.

1:51 There is one benefit, he's probably not getting any pesticides and herbicides, which you would be getting when you typically farm plants today. It really is a big benefit.

[video] 2:00 Again...

2:11 Of course, not most of the year, but yeah, it is better. Yeah, if you eat that, then for sure.

2:26 creamy because you crave cream like every vegan. Is this guy even still vegan? I don't know. Oftentimes when the vegans change their channel name, they quit veganism. They don't want to tell it to their audience, which is why they just change the name. It's kind of like they are telling you, I quit, but I still want your money. I still want to sell you some supplements and recipe books.

[video] 2:49 A pinch of salt and some boiling water and let it bubble away very slowly until it's creamy and delicious.

2:56 It can't be delicious. It can never be. Oats can never be. Oats are a seed. It can also not be actually creamy. That comes from the word cream, as in animal fat.

[video] 3:10 Thing is, I go to town with my toppings. I add things like macadamia nut butter,

3:16 Yeah, of course, to imitate animal fat, yeah.

[video] 3:19 Really good quality dark chocolate, hemp seeds.

3:22 Yeah, none of this is found in the UK. All of this is imported. Not saying anything against importation as such. But there's just no way that you would be able to eat creamy oats, not even really oats themselves, but if you would be able to get oats, then for sure, only through animal fat, you would make them creamy.

[video] 3:47 All the strength and the protein that they give me, cacao nibs, which is so good for your heart. I also add things.

3:53 Wait, wait, wait, what? Cacao nibs have caffeine, theobromine, it makes your heart beat faster because of the toxins, it adrenalizes your body, but how is it good for your heart? Ah, but whatever, vegans just throw around these phrases, good for your heart, Good for your skin, good for your... My favorite is good for your digestive system. As if anything they eat is good for it.

[video] 4:20 Like goji berries, of course I've got to add my blueberries.

4:25 Yeah, yeah, some huge man-made blueberries, probably pesticide-ridden, very likely. Yeah, so it's cool if you eat your own vegan foods, but then just stick to them. But he can't, because he can't just eat cucumbers and tomatoes. He would die by eating that. So he just needs to import anything he possibly can, and probably eat some animal foods on the side anyway off-camera.

[video] 4:50 I love blueberries so much and I swear by them. To finish off my porridge, I sprinkle over some cinnamon and that- Ooh, cinnamon is toxic as hell.

4:59 And that's a lot of cinnamon, mate. Wait, what the fuck are you doing?

[video] 5:04 That's it, that's the porridge with a thousand toppings done. I'll enjoy it in the garden with a lovely cup of water. Lovely, lovely British warts I need.

5:20 I do have to say that his videos are very nicely filmed. I can appreciate that.

[video] 5:29 So what I tend to do before I head to the gym is have a coffee. So on a Saturday, on the perfect day, I'll go to the gym mid-morning. That's when I feel most alive, but most days in the weeks I'm having to like... That's when he feels most alive.

5:41 Sure, I get it. You can have your fluctuations in energy, not that it's normal, But it's just funny because realistically, he has this adrenaline rush from the caffeine, which is when he feels alive, adrenalized, and then the rest of the day he's probably dead tired.

[video] 6:01 Fit Jim in in the evenings. But before I go, I'll have a coffee just to wake myself up. I love the artistry of coffee. I love the story behind beans. Right now I've got some beautiful coffee beans that were roasted in a little town near my house. And I've been trying to perfect my latte art. It's not going too well, but I attempt to give it a go and I use a non-dairy milk.

6:18 I choose to use one that doesn't have... Why does he have to mention that I thought that you're vegan? Or is he really not vegan? Because it should just be common sense that you use non-dairy milk, right? Weird.

[video] 6:31 ...oils or gums or stabilizers or anything like that in it. It's just nuts and oats actually and water and sea salt. But it froths up really well and I can make kind of a good latte art from time to time.

[video] 6:43 All right, and then it's time to hit the gym. Exercise is so important for my mind that I... Yeah, it's so important for your mind.

6:51 All the stress hormones circulating through your body. It probably makes your mind, your brain really healthy.

[video] 7:01 Use it as a tool just to help me get through life. I feel like my...

7:05 Yeah, of course, it really helps you get through life, lifting man-made metal up and down and pulling metal. Yeah, it makes a lot of sense. I really like this video just because of how logical it is, what he's saying.

[video] 7:19 Mine is like a messy filing cabinet when I haven't been to the gym or exercised.

7:25 Yeah, exactly, because stress and exerting yourself makes you... content with life you can collect your thoughts it's not at all as if you're high on adrenaline and cortisol and it does the opposite to your body no no no now when i go everything's organized and the stress melts away so yeah exactly the stress just melts away with the adrenaline and cortisol just through the roof your heart beating really fast real important part of my life

[video] 8:01 Oh, so welcome to my torture chamber.

8:04 I actually gave... Oh my god. Oh my god, so contradicting and he doesn't even realize it.

[video] 8:08 ...your whole tour of this gym that my dad and I made in the garage.

8:13 At least he doesn't have to go to a gym in the city where you listen to stupid music.

[video] 8:18 I wasn't living so rurally. It's hard to get to a gym, but this is my happy place. But you've been asking me...

8:24 Literally, you just called it a torture chamber. And I know that he would say that it was a joke. But it isn't, it isn't at all. Would you go into whatever, some kid's playroom and say, oh, this is a torture chamber, or your bedroom, your kitchen, whatever? No, you wouldn't. He would say that it's a joke because he doesn't want to really officially admit it, but we all know that he actually meant it. And everybody means it. Gyms do look like torture chambers, so to speak, large chambers, rooms. It's torture machines. It's where you suffer. No happiness, no joy. He knows it. Everybody does.

9:19 Okay, you want to run for no reason? I don't get why. You want to box for no reason like a slave? I don't know why. Nobody in nature has ever punched anybody or even kicked. You would literally be laughed at. Actually, you wouldn't be laughed at if you would do that because something else would happen to you if you would try to do something so stupid. And lifting metal? Lifting weights? What's the benefit of that exactly?

9:48 fit and healthy doesn't go together you can only be fit for something if you're fit to run for no reason or to punch a bag or to lift metal then you're already automatically not healthy because you're very stressed and exerted

[video] 10:15 At least he's not doing anything super crazy.

[video] 10:27 So for my main exercises today, I am gonna be doing something kind of crazy. It may sound a lot, but this will get me in and out as fast as I can really, and I'll feel great after it. So we're gonna start off with 30 burpees.

[video] 10:42 That is my workout complete. I am gonna go on a hike up the mountain after dinner tonight, where I'll be picking some bilberries, which will be beautiful. So that's another little workout.

[video] 10:52 Oh, that was a great workout, guys. But I think it's important for me just to touch on one thing that's on my mind about this whole video today.

10:59 That's funny. He says that it was a great workout. I think that he's implying that he enjoyed it, obviously, which is impossible. But then he doesn't express anything even close to joy or greatness or anything. It's literally the way somebody would act, and obviously in this case does act, who comes out of, like he said, a torture chamber, a place where you suffer. You can only sense suffering, nothing else.

[video] 11:29 Please take this with a pinch of salt. Now, I don't have responsibilities like kids or an office job where I need to be somewhere at a particular time each day. I've realized that I am quite a sensitive person, and if outside...

11:42 Hmm, does look pretty nice there.

[video] 11:45 Wait, he even has chickens? This guy is not vegan anymore.

[video] 12:08 Extreme things to make myself feel good now they may not be extreme to everyone But I understand that not everyone has the luxury of what I have which is a bit more freedom to live my life I guess so me growing my food me spending time in nature me going But most of the food you ate so far is imported from different countries not even from the UK would be one thing if he would

12:31 Get the stuff from London because he lives out somewhere, wherever. That's understandable.

[video] 12:37 Into the gym and cooking nourishing foods all the time.

12:41 It's things that I... Where are the nourishing foods? I don't see any. Are you showing the wrong clip?

[video] 12:45 Have to do for me to feel good and to have a good effect on the world. And that's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to be the best version of myself and create inspirational content so that you guys, you could just take a pinch of what I do and incorporate it.

12:58 Right, so your inspirational content is eating man-made vegetables which don't exist in nature. Some fruits which you grow yourself which also don't exist like that in nature. Then a bunch of imported foods from Africa, South America and wherever.

13:17 Where people get paid slave wages just to produce that.

13:25 You don't have children as you said yourself. You don't work in an office, that's good. I guess that he makes his money by selling stuff and making YouTube videos. That's better, for sure. And then you lift metal up and down and punch a bag. I don't really see so far

[video] 13:50 what's supposed to be inspiring about this video into your life and you will reap the benefits off the back of it so I'm hoping that's what this content does it makes me feel so good that I'm so ready for the week coming I don't drink alcohol I don't go on nights out and this is what I get off on really especially when the sun is out and something that I'd love to do after a big work yeah when the sun is out pretty much like 10 days in a year in the UK is nourish the body. When you've exercised and you've done a great workout, you don't want to be eating crappy food. You want to be eating really good stuff. I am like a kid in a sweet shop. All of these amazing tomatoes. We've got some lovely varieties. And then I've got my cucumber vines. I've picked cucumbers so much now. So I think for lunch, we'll make a lovely summer salad inspired by these lovely ingredients. And it'll be delicious, I think. Mmm.

[video] 14:39 So for this lovely salad, so simple, but it's something I've been eating a lot recently. I always, I eat a lot of beans, if I'm honest. They work for me. Beans aren't for everyone, but they really suit me and I love them.

14:49 Why do you lie? Everybody gets digestive issues from beans.

[video] 14:53 That is really bad for your gut, though. You have a...

15:15 Every anti-nutrient you can think of, lectins, tannins, phytic acids, whatever, just all of them in there. It would be one thing if you would be using the fruits alone for the salad or even some kind of green leaves. In this case, compared to the seeds, the overwhelming amount of them, it would just be better because that stuff is just so hard on your gut, it's just so indigestible. There's just no way that... It just seems like he's saying as if it's good for him, as if he can handle them. That's what he was saying about the beans. It's clear that he can't handle the beans or any of those seeds.

[video] 15:58 Herbs from my garden. I'm gonna pick some parsley, some chives, some basil.

16:04 Oh, parsley, oh. Absolute infertility herb. Yeah, you have no children and you won't have any.

[video] 16:14 Herbs are very overrated. What are you talking about? Herbs are toxic and in many cases deadly.

16:43 And seeing as people nowadays see them as healthy, they are very overrated.

[video] 16:50 Fresh herbs grown in the garden is the ultimate, but if you have dried herbs in your spice drawer, adding them into a dish to liven it up, to add some aromatics is so important. I literally, I couldn't live with herbs, probably my number one thing for adding flavor to food. Let's get some mint and we'll add the rest of the ingredients.

17:11 That's probably his last energy for the day.

[video] 17:17 They'll go into the bowl with some delicious homegrown crushed garlic, some nutritional yeast for that nutty flavor, a little bit... No, it's for the cheesy flavor, why do you lie?

17:27 For the nutty flavor, you already have your seeds.

[video] 17:30 ...bit of olive oil and some white wine vinegar. I'll then season it up with some sea salt and pepper, and that's the salad done. Delicious.

17:48 This guy is totally nuts, man. There's no way that you can actually eat this and come out alive. It's just way too much for your gut. It's over 90% totally indigestible.

18:11 Oh my god, man. Imagine how much he will be screaming afterwards in the bathroom. You will hear it in London, probably. That's how loud it will be. Why did I do that? No! Is it over? The beans! The beans are coming!

[video] 18:35 And, of course, my little purple rainbow chillies. These are spicy, believe it or not. They look so innocent, but they are fiery.

[video] 18:46 Oh, this looks like summer in a bowl. I'm going to give this a good mix-up. I can't wait to eat this.

[video] 18:55 What? Vitamins and minerals in beans? What are you talking about? Yeah, there's some minerals...

19:19 Pretty much in all of those plants, depends on how good the earth is that you're growing them in, but seeing as you have the anti-nutrients, you're not going to be getting much out of them anyway. I don't get why he even mentions that, and there's for sure no vitamins.

[video] 19:36 I know my body will really need, especially, you know, after workouts and training. And then to stir through the dish at the very end, I'll pick some chard, cavolo nero, and basil. Some leafy greens and fragrance that were perfectly added to dishes.

19:46 Wow, chard is very poisonous. It can be deadly. Try eating raw chard. Don't try it, obviously, but if you have tried, then you know what I mean. It's insane how poisonous it is. It just even right away kills the cells in your mouth when you eat it.

[video] 20:08 That's just nothing, it's so empty. I would understand growing animals or even...

20:28 Creating dairy products. Yeah, and then you eat the food, actual real food, and you feel nourished, whereas when you eat this, you just bloat. That's it. Just bloating and gut discomfort. It's actually very disappointing, I would say. It's good that he's cooking all of this, the chart especially, because As I said, it's just so poisonous, it's dangerous to consume it. When you cook it, yeah, you neutralize and destroy most of the toxins, especially when you cook it this much. And of course he has the tomatoes for the nice red color in it to imitate meat.

[video] 21:14 What people would actually make if they would be sane. This guy was always imitating meat products. That's what his channel was all about. The starved vegans were watching his videos

21:36 to find recipes which would imitate meat the best. Any kind of animal products, also dairy. And now he eats a bunch of greens all the time. He's very likely eating eggs and who knows what else on the side of camera from his own chickens.

[video] 21:56 The greens plus the onion tops and the carrot tops. They're gonna be great garnishes.

22:19 It's literally not fresh, you just process the food, you cook the hell out of it.

22:27 If anything, this would be the definition of the opposite of fresh, right? How much more unfresh can you get, whatever the word is, I don't know what to call it.

[video] 22:39 Yeah, because you crave animal fat so much. Exactly. Just go and grab the eggs from your chickens.

[video] 22:59 That is there. So just as the greens and the courgettes are cooked, literally just when they're cooked, is when you serve. You don't want to overcook your greens, especially when you spend all this time growing them. This is great.

23:12 And actually really disgusting. Really, really. Way too green, way too many green leaves. Absolutely horrible. I would just throw up, I'm not even joking.

23:28 Horrible, horrible. I've never seen... Maybe I have, but it's in the top five of the most disgusting things I've seen.

[video] 23:45 Bloody fucking hell.

[video] 23:52 You're crazy, mate.

23:57 There you go, the animal fat cravings come.

[video] 24:04 Oh, that looks great. It's my gardener on a plate. Look at me rhyming. And it's a shame to waste some of these lovely carrot tops. They make the perfect garnish. Just dotted around. They actually have a really nice herbaceous flavor too.

24:17 It totally does not look great whatsoever though. It's so strange. It's kind of delusional.

[video] 24:26 Yes, this is what I need.

24:28 No, literally not. You show it yourself by adding the tahini. It means that you crave fat. It's literally not what you need.

[video] 24:36 There it goes. I'm so happy with this. I'm proud of myself. 15 ingredients from my garden.

24:48 15 ingredients, even though you only want one ingredient, meat.

[video] 24:53 Mmm.

[video] 24:57 Just nourishing and warming.

25:00 It's warm, but it's not nourishing. Plants don't have over 15 micronutrients. And this is cooked to death anyway. Even if you could get anything out of it, that's already gone now.

[video] 25:12 Something my nan would have made for me, for sure.

25:15 Literally never. What are you talking about? She would have made...

25:21 something similar maybe with some tomatoes but with a lot of meat and fat chicken beef sheep never she would be so upset so disappointed if she would see you

25:46 It's just disgusting to look at it. I just can't imagine that he's eating those fat pieces of green leaves.

26:05 Look! Oh my god, the geoengineering is nuts.

[video] 26:18 What are you talking about, man?

26:24 It's not a sunny day. There's not even any sunlight. It's just a white sky. This guy... He's just lost.

26:35 Yeah, your belly which is protruding because it's full of fiber. You're creating a lot of gas and that's because of the indigestible fiber, the anti-nutrients, the toxins. You're eating man-made food. It's just horrible what you're doing to yourself.

[video] 26:51 to fuel us. And I bought my foraging bag just in case I find some really lovely treats on the mountain. So just like blueberries, they're full of antioxidants and they've got such a deep blue color. Kind of just screams that they're good for you. I don't want to climb them up.

27:07 Those actually look like natural berries though. This is what I used to pick as a kid. You can actually eat that.

[video] 27:15 I just want to pick these berries all day. It's so nice. It feels very rewarding and satisfying. So this is another addition to what I eat in a day.

[video] 27:23 The only good thing he ate...

27:24 He stuffed his gut full of indigestible plants, and instead of eating the sheep now, he just acts like a sheep himself, which he is.

[video] 27:53 Hi, how are you doing? Yeah, in Sheepwash.

[video] 28:01 That was a bit of a long day. I've got a green protein shake here, hemp protein powder, things like spirulina, ashwagandha, mackerel.

28:10 Oh my god, man, spirulina, really? That's been proven to be toxic, poisonous. Even the vegans know that at this point. Why do you still consume that?

[video] 28:21 And a load of other super powerful magical ingredients I rely upon. I want to say thank you for watching this video. I hope it inspires you to do some of the things I mentioned. Just take a pinch of it and hopefully it'll add some benefits to your life. Anyway, guys, I'll see you soon with another video in the future.

28:36 The video was very nicely filmed, as I said before, but that's about it. I have no idea how he wants to inspire people, what he wants people to do. to grow your own fruits and vegetables, which you then have to cook for an hour just to destroy the toxins, and then you destroy any nutrients which are in there anyway, and why do you even eat it in the first place? What's the point? Why not grow food that you can eat in its natural state, as in raw? That would make sense, and that you could actually be proud of. But it's just so funny that in the end he goes and says hi to the sheep like a sheep himself, which he has to be because he follows a vegan diet. Instead of actually eating the sheep, surely he could just pay whoever owns them and slaughter it. He could get the blood, the organs.

29:36 Even if he would cook the meat, it would be a million times more nourishing than what he was eating there. He just picked a bunch of random plants because he grew them and then he cooked them to death. Besides that, he also punched a bag and lifted metal up and down. I don't see anything about his life which could inspire people to be

30:03 happy for sure not healthy anything that humans actually naturally want are just nothing at all it's actually hard to make such a wrong video to want to inspire people but then end up really just destroying people's lives and ruining their health if they would follow that advice hopefully people won't but if you would If that was your actual goal, that's the only thing that you would get out of it. A ruined life, an unhealthy life full of misery.

30:42 Terrible. Thanks for watching.
