Zyzz: The Guy Who Destroyed Millions of Lives

0:00 Hi, I'm going to be reviewing a video about Ziz. He was a so-called bodybuilder who died around 15 years ago. He influenced a lot of people. I'm going to give you my thoughts about him and his so-called legacy.
[video] 0:18 This is Ziz Shivershian, a child who with his brother's help had gone to become one of the most influential-
0:24 And you can right away see why they started working out.
[video] 0:28 ...fitness icons of all time. A bullied video game enthusiast for his early life, it wasn't until his brother started going to the gym that an inspired Aziz would go on to become Zeez. While having one of the most insane three-year body transformations of all time, more impressive was his confidence transformation, which would later set an example for millions of insecure teenagers and younger men.
0:51 Exactly, and that's what it was all about. He was one of the first guys online to promote the message that there's a way around nature. It doesn't matter that you ate unnatural food while growing and developing. simply go to this building and push and pull metal together with other guys who hate doing it. On top of that, he openly talked about using drugs. It was all bullshit.
[video] 1:24 No.
1:38 The message was the opposite. It was all about not being yourself. It was all about hiding who you are, how you look like. You are a narrow body because you didn't eat natural food while growing up. That was the message.
[video] 1:56 A mixture of his personality, trolling, and an exciting lifestyle, his controversial character attracted millions of fans, along with plenty of hate. I don't even know. I don't like your videos, you're ugly, okay? Zeez is just an ignorant steroid. Except Z seemed to thrive on his hate. He was trolling the exact people he had had enough of when he was skinnier.
[video] 2:21 But Z seemed to have cracked the code early on and was set to become the biggest influencer in the industry. He was in a lot of pain and a lot of hurt because deep down he's still that skinny kid. He's had the body of his dream and all this fame thrown at him. And how do you think he dealt with it?
2:35 Exactly.
2:38 It's clear that he was very insecure for obvious reasons, and this is what pushed him to do all of that. Think about what you do when you go to a gym. You look in the mirror, and you know that you hate lifting the metal up and down. You look in the mirror full of hate, but then you really need to think about what you actually hate. And in the end, you will realize that you simply don't like what you're looking at. And you're trying to fight against that. And you're actually trying to fight against nature, the food that you were fed while growing up. And you cannot change that anymore beyond the age of 20 for sure. And that's why a lot of people somehow try to deal with that.
3:32 And obviously, it's a very unhealthy way to try to deal with it because in the end, it can be lethal in many cases.
[video] 3:44 I'll be telling the story. This is to my grandchildren. And that's horrible because all of these guys who go to the gym wouldn't do it if they would have grown up eating natural food
4:18 they would look wide and handsome enough.
[video] 4:24 The core values at the heart of it, still lacking today in the industry, is why the Z's legacy and its positive impact remains immortal.
4:33 What a positive impact. Just give me one benefit of any of this. Just one. You won't be able to, and you know that.
4:52 It's just a bunch of insecure men who hate what they are doing. And that's because they cannot stand themselves. It's all based on that.
[video] 5:14 But what happened to Zeus? And why is he viewed as such a god?
[video] 5:24 In 1986, Sergey, a university lecturer, and Maya, a cardiologist, had their first child, Saeed. Three years later, Aziz was born, the captain of a school chess club, finishing top of his grade out of hundreds of students, while Aziz was highly intelligent, like his older brother.
5:39 Exactly. Guys, and sometimes also girls, who aren't naturally succeeding in this life, so to speak, will end up sometimes doing some kind of sports or they will play chess, they will play with some little figures and then they will imagine how they beat somebody because they are not able to actually beat anybody in this life. It's very, very typical.
[video] 6:09 He was much smaller than the others in his year. He would often get his lunch money stolen.
6:13 Yes, you can tell. that he grew up eating um you can already imagine what and chalk dust is thrown at him initially Very typical, it's super easy to see.
[video] 6:30 He coped with the bullying by retreating to his bedroom to play video games. But after being inspired by his older brother, who had started going to the gym, Aziz sold his World of Warcraft account for around $500, enough for a one-year gym membership. The brothers' confidence started to grow, so they ventured out to festivals and raves, where they developed a love for trance music. Aziz would frequently upload videos and posts to a rave forum where he could talk to people who shared the same passion. He was particularly well known for trolling, where he'd bait other people on the internet into reacting to his often ironic posts. Of course, with time, Aziz became more into fitness and moved over to the bodybuilding forum. With this post, after just a few months of training, you can see where he decided to go all in, taking PEDs extremely early on, with a goal of looking like this, in just one year. Surely, another troll. And this, was the rise of Zs.
7:33 His frame always stayed the same, as we can see, but he promoted the idea that pushing and pulling metal and using substances is the way to somehow get over that, which is impossible, obviously. And that's why a lot of guys who also felt insecure looked up to him. It's understandable, but what is there to look up to, actually?
[video] 8:10 The group was named the Aesthetics Crew as a joke, and after a post from his brother titled, Are you admiring my chest bra? went viral, he was given the name chest bra. Seas and the Aesthetics Crew were set to become extremely successful. By age 22, with around three people...
8:25 You can see the same symptoms of eating unnatural food in all of them. I see it right away when I look at them. It's super obvious and it's so super clear why they did all of this. And if they simply ate natural food while growing up, if they were breastfed instead of formula fed, then none of that would have happened because you wouldn't feel the need to do it. You're really just insecure about your bones, the way your body grew. That's the problem. And None of this fixes that. It only creates more and more problems. They didn't help anybody, nobody. Everybody only suffered because of people like him.
[video] 9:17 In consistent years in the gym, Zeez had built an elite physique, impressive regardless of what he took. And although it was obvious to most, Aziz was not to be taken completely seriously. As he became more well-known, the overly aggressive people he liked to mock would attack him physically in public. These three guys jumped as- jumped my mate Adam from the back of- behind them and started punching into them, like bashing them for no reason. Is that any way to f***ing live life?
[video] 9:49 Despite the fame beginning to catch up to Aziz, to the point where he later seemed to regret the whole Aziz character, he pushed on, making event appearances and going on TV with plans to change the direction of his content after realising the power of his influence and his positive impact. So what exactly was it about Aziz that's kept his legacy alive to this day and why is he viewed as such a god?
[video] 10:11 The most obvious initial thing was Aziz had an extremely... Let's be real.
10:16 Most people have never heard of him, obviously, but people who go to the gym have heard of him. I also remember seeing videos of him on YouTube back in the day. That was over 10 years ago.
[video] 10:31 Desirable before and after transformation, which most teenagers can relate or look up to. I remember choosing gym as a sport in grade 11.
10:41 Right, but only guys who feel the need to compensate will look up to him because they see the same problems in him, and then they see a way to fix it. It's understandable. It's obviously not a fix whatsoever. You create more problems, as I said. But it's understandable why they would look up to him, seeing as nobody else is giving them a solution to the problems. And as I said, if you are beyond 20, there is no actual real solution anymore.
[video] 11:19 And everyone was like, what the fuck are you doing here? And I was like, yeah, whatever. And actually, five years later, look who's the king, bro. Look who's the king. You mad? But it wasn't just his body.
11:31 And he looked the same under all of the two more like so-called muscles, which simply came from the toxic laboratory made drugs.
[video] 11:44 Transformed. It was this attitude and confidence which stands out most.
11:48 What kind of a solution is that for your life? How long will you do that? Eventually your heart will give up. Something always happens.
[video] 12:01 There's always like, three or four girls, they're always like, Ruin my shell, ruin my shell. And I'm like, give me some. And they're like, no, looks disgusting. Head is what I hate. Instead of using his training and size to intimidate, which felt quite typical of bodybuilders, he tried to inspire people. Zs had broken the mold, much like he liked to play his favorite video game character, Cloud Strife. He was playing Zs in real life, which he also seemed to view as a game.
12:28 These video games, also all of the cartoons, anime, movies, they influence these young guys who feel as if their bodies are too small, narrow.
[video] 12:44 Instead of intimidating bodybuilders, which so many associate with the gym.
12:48 And even better, in the movies, the characters eat grain sludge, Popeye, ate spinach to become big, strong. They really manipulate you as much as possible.
[video] 13:06 You brought something different and would frequently stick up for skinny teenagers trying to gain muscle and care less about the opinion of others. And of course, you like to lead this by example. You mad, son? You mad, bro? You mad?
[video] 13:23 But behind this ultra-confident character was Aziz, a human now with a perfect god-like image to maintain. Girls don't know about my secret internet nerd life. If they do, it's just embarrassing. Look, keep going down there. That's a good photo. What's wrong with it?
[video] 13:51 For those that knew Aziz personally, he was a completely different person than what you saw online. You know, he was goofy, he was dorky, he was funny, he was sweet, charming, like amongst all the confidence and all the self-love. He was also a very insecure guy. He had many times in his life where he was, you know, he was down in very tough places and he just, we never saw that, we never saw that side of him. He was too scared to walk by himself. He was too scared to go to the shopping center by himself. That's what you people don't understand. And he needed to bring two or three of his mates everywhere he went just because of the anxiety and the paranoia that he used to get from going out. What's wrong?
[video] 14:29 That's a really good answer.
[video] 14:34 As Aziz grew older, he became more mature, even hinting here that he was done with being Zs and all of the fake people in his life. Every festival he went to, he'd be approached by as many as 500 people who'd often treat him poorly. Because of this, he wanted his viral videos taken down, and in the end, settled on a plan to redefine his image, as to make it more obvious when he's being serious and when he was not. He realised the true value he got from playing Zs was being able to inspire, so he began to focus on exactly that.
[video] 15:11 Now set on going down this more inspiring route, Aziz decided to take a holiday to Thailand before getting back to work.
[video] 15:31 Towards the end of the vacation, Aziz texts his brother to let him know he was going to extend his trip, to which Said told him to come back already as his family missed him. He was originally supposed to come back on the 5th of August, but it was not until the 8th that they finally got a knock at the door, only it was not Aziz but a police officer holding his death certificate. He had passed away at a hospital in Thailand due to heart failure. The fitness industry had lost ease, but Saeed had lost his best friend and brother. This whole Zeus thing, it got to him in the end, and it was also part of the reason why he's passed away. Because he got too much room, he felt constant pressure to look good, look the part, be the character, and put pressure on his body, and this is what happens. This is what happens, I lost my brother.
16:18 He blames the pressure. Okay, I understand that, but why not blame the fitness culture? All of these people who tell you that stressing yourself, chronic stress is good for you, that even using all of those drugs is good for you. Why don't you talk about that? Maybe he did, but... The way this guy is portraying the situation is as if it was simply because of the pressure from the people. He needed to keep up the image. No, that's not what actually ended him, obviously. It was what is actually found in this physical reality, not some abstract ideas. It was the working out, and obviously... The drugs, come on, let's just say it out loud.
17:16 I see very typical.
17:41 signs of, uh, you know, what super typical they would have never done it if they didn't grow up eating unnatural food, a hundred percent. That's the real issue. That's what nobody talks about.
[video] 17:58 After the news sank in side fell into a deep depression falling from 83 to 70 kilos in just six months. At which point he picked himself back up. It was time to spread his little brother's legacy.
18:12 No, he didn't continue. Really? Is that what he means? Because that's completely insane then. Nobody learns from these devs, just nobody. Not even the brothers, the best friends.
[video] 18:42 To those of you who still think that Z is a horrible role model, let me ask you this. Why must role models always be virtuous? They don't have to be. At one point in time, he was super skinny growing up.
[video] 18:57 But it's not okay to look at Z and say, he did cocaine, he did ecstasy, he partied like that, and I wanna do it too. I can almost guarantee you if Z was here today, he would tell you guys straight up, dude, this up and I made a mistake. The example that Z set in a positive fashion by transforming his physique and his life is great, but even more than that, his flaws, his mistakes,
19:16 but he didn't actually do anything. He simply tried to adapt his body to the chronic stress of pushing and pulling metal. And of course the substances are also stressful for the body. They are toxic. It's not as if he actually changed the way his body developed because you cannot anymore at that point. He didn't inspire young guys to eat naturally while they go through puberty when they are really growing and developing still. Of course, before that, it's also very important to eat naturally because even if you leave out one or two years in between, you will already see signs of malformations under development. You need to do it. All the time.
20:13 You can never stop, obviously, because you shouldn't, naturally. Why should you? If you would be aware of it, but people aren't aware of it. And he died, and still nobody understands why people start working out, why they feel so insecure, why he did it. Nobody really learned anything from it.
[video] 20:39 have helped people avoid following in his footsteps. In that respect, I think he makes a fabulous and perfect role model, showing both the good and the bad together. Everyone's human, and he showed that. There's a lot of things that Aziz was feeling on the inside of his mind as well that a lot of us can really, really never tap into unless we knew him personally, you know what I mean? I think it's important, especially now more than ever, to be talking about mental health. And, you know, exactly just, like even now, like I'm finding it hard just to speak about it and breathe because it's such a topic that's so close to my heart.
21:15 The video creator's message was very bad. He made it seem as if Ziz influenced people in the right way, and now all of these young and insecure guys will have better lives. They can go to a building and push and pull metal, and then they can try to fake the way they really look like. They will hate doing it. They will always look in the mirror, obsess over how their body looks like. They will have children. The children will have the same problems. They will also tell them to go to the gym just to try to hide the way they look like. Why not talk about the actual cause of why you look like that? What caused the insecurities? Why did you go to the gym in the first place? Why did you watch the videos?
22:15 Why did you maybe even start using all of those substances? He died from the substances. He wasn't living a happy and healthy life. Thanks for watching.
